Handy location to lakefront, Eat Street, weekend market etc. If you do not mind walking or are not traveling with young children, most city centre based attractions are within walking distance. Good value for money with room neat and tidy, bed and pillows comfy, free wifi. Parking available on hotel premises or off street.

This is my first time in an Ibis and it was a good experience. Value for money, reasonable breakfast price, great lake views, easy parking. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Wi-fi was rubbish and movie channel didn't work. No biggie for me but it would be a hassle for some. Prepay for breakfast seems to be weird science, I had to muck about each morning. Staff were good though. Olivia is one of those people you find occasionally at businesses who know what's going on, can fix things, and... Read more

Ibis used to be my favorite hotel network in the past, but unfortunately it seems that the whole lot has lost its way and is deteriorating. Let's start with the few good things about Ibis Rotorua : The Receptionist was very friendly and polite There was a free parking space under the building The room had a big window with a nice view (except for the garbage bins, but that is a non-issue) Now to the little nuisances that make the place "cheap" : We are two people in the room, but they put o... Easy check in and obliging to have our room ready early as we had a wedding to attend. Room was small but a good view over towards the lake. Everything you need and fine if you are not living in the room! Good to have a decent sized mirror. Bedside lamp wasn't working on one side - forgot to tell them, sorry. A really stormy night and we had a wind whistling noise coming through the airvent/room aircon area which was a bit of a nuisance. Lovely reception desk lady!

Typical Ibis hotel we were unlucky a coach party arrived as we did so checking in took a long time. Rooms good. We ate out as there are loads of local restaurants for evening meals and breakfast. Lovely walks round the lake and good access to local tourist attractions.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in January and had a fantastic time. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help us. The hotel is associated with the Novotel next door too, thus the hotels share facilities which means that guests have access to geothermal spas and an incredibly good value all you can eat seafood buffet ($49NZ/person). We can't wait to return.

Hotel clean and comfortable, plenty of free parking, but the wifi is so poor as to be virtually unusable, despite complaining, the IT dept were unable to make the system better, local free wifi in Eat Street was lightning fast

Staff were very nice and the hotel is good value. Use of services at the other hotel next door also. Basic hotel and perhaps a little tired but as I say good value. Porridge could be better! Location really good, close to all bars etc
