Everything about this hotel was excellent, from the rooms to the pool. The staff were always helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The shuttle was always on time and free. Did I mention the pool and hot tub so relaxing for two old ladies after a day out. Lovely retreat. No need to mention view etc everyone know Queenstown is magic.

We came and stayed at the Hilton for 8 days in late June...during the first week of Australian school holidays but a week before the NZ school holidays kicked in. We really enjoyed our stay here, we upgraded to a one bedroom apartment in building 1 (on the lake shore) and I spent most of the week working and pottering around the area whilst my wife and son hit the ski slopes. I would have no problems recommending the Hilton to anyone and when we come back again we will stay here again. If ... Read more

I stayed there twice during my last visit to New Zealand. Staff is excellent (especially at the front desk). Rooms are nice. I had one of those deluxe rooms are they are great. In case of a rainy day, the pool area is nice to relax and enjoy. Even though the location is not right in town, the water taxi available at the hotel brings you right into the city - fast and inexpensive.

We stayed here in July for 11 nights in a lake view suite. The room and hotel is lovely with beautiful views of the lake. I was aware of the distance from Queenstown and actually prefer being removed from the town slightly as it is quite peaceful. Restaurants and bars on site are nice. Highlights for me were the comfortable bed and room layout; quality of food and drink at grill restaurant (dinner); excellent, attentive and kind service (Adam at the bar and Junko our room attendant in particular... We were amazed at the facilities and quality of the room we got at the Hilton for the price we paid. The facilities are excellent, staff all very helpful, rooms large, well designed and luxurious and our lakeside room had a lovely room of lake Wakitapu and the surrounding mountains. The reseraunt is excellent if a bit pricey. The hotel is 20 minutes closer to the Remarkables ski feilds and a similar distance to Coronet peak as Queenstown, and the sauna and spa are great after a long day skiing.... Read more

Good holiday and family friendly hotel. Location is fantastic, being close to airport, yet away from the city centre but only a short travel distance to it. Onsite Pub and Chinese restaurant offer good alternative to standard hotel food & beverage. Ski Hire shop, pool and spa are an added bonus. Price was expensive for NZ.

The room was good Room service breakfast was good Staff were friendly and helpful I didn't realise our room didn't have a Lake view would get one of those next time. Room cost $400 for night which was a King delux? The gas fireplace was novel. I suspect Lakeview rooms would be more expensive Finding the room was challenging you had to go down in one lift walk 100m and then up in another lift. A real rabbit warren. We followed a little rabbit to find our way out.

The hotel is located at the other side of the city so it will take you about 15-20 minutes to get there with bridge construction during our visit in July 2016. If you drive, there is free self-parking in the basement at the next building, 5 minute walk to the hotel, unless you can always do valet service. Not much going on at the area as the location is isolated from crowd, which is good or bad. We are family of four with small children and they did not allow us to go with the booked lakeview... Althogh not Close to the centre of town this is an upmarket hotel that is relatively new, modern and with excellent service and wonderful rooms. We had a water-facing room and the fittings, spaciousness and design were lovely. You can stand on the balcony overlooking the water and watch the planes land (which the kids love). We chose to stay here as it was close to the main road to Te Anau as we were leaving early in the morning for that destination. After visiting Queenstown briefly we were glad to be staying away from the town itself as we may as well have been in any city, not a central otago holiday town- traffic, road rage, packed with tourists, not relaxing at all. However, over the other side of the lake at the Hilton, was a great quiet, friendly comfortable experience. We were kindly made guest of the day wh... Read more

The last times we stayed here we caught the bus into town and to go skiing, but this time we rented a car and it proved a great decision as we could go into town whenever we wanted. This is a beautiful place to stay and the rooms and housekeeping are of the expected high standard. The food was lovely as well but cooked buffet breakfast was disappointing being not even lukewarm; as was the room service meal. The food is reasonably expensive so at the least it would be good to have it hot. It would be helpful if reception and restaurant staff could also speak English.

We stayed here for five or six nights during our honeymoon in New Zealand. We stayed in the relaxation room which is a little pricey but has a private hot tub and fireplace, it's to die for! The views are great. I was a little worried being close to the airport but never noticed it at all. The staff was super super nice the food was good, get the breakfast buffet!! Good middle ground for exploring in and around Queens town. Much quieter than staying in the middle of Queenstown which we loved.

Queenstown (and the surrounding region) is one of my favourite places on earth. Any accommodation is Queenstown will be a treat because you will be surrounded by an amazing environment. The Hilton is no exception. Set right on the water and looking out over the mountains, the setting is fantastic. The hotel itself is also lovely. The biggest bonus of this place is that it faces north-west and therefore gets sun through the afternoon - something most places in Queenstown itself don't get. The a... Read more

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights during our honeymoon and we loved every minute of it! The hotel is located right on the shores of the beautiful Lake Wakatipu. We awoke every morning to a breathtaking view of the water and mountains, while sipping tea on our balcony. Our favorite feature, though, was probably the gas fireplace located right in our own room. It was great to come back each night after a long day of outdoor activities, hang our wet socks and gloves by the fireplace and dri... Read more

Spent four days here and loved it. The facility is modern with all the amenities you expect from Hilton, and is only a short drive to the airport and/or The Remarkables shopping area. There are three separate dining establishments on the resort property and the shuttle to Queenstown runs on a regular schedule so you can go shop, dine, drink, and party without the hassle of parking your own vehicle (and it is a major hassle). It's a very nice resort and I would recommend it to anyone wanting t... Read more

We chose the Hilton for a 5 night stay whilst exploring around Queenstown. It is not in the main part of Queenstown but rather across the lake. This made it a little more quiet and private but unfortunately the bridge to go across is being rebuilt and there are significant delays. The hotel itself is massive and sits overlooking the Lake. There is a choice for dinning options and good room service. The spa was also very good. The staff were friendly and quite efficient. Many are from overseas an... Read more

A great location and a great hotel. The staff was superb. Check in was great with an incredibly friendly reception person. He gave us the complete 'lay of the land' and make some superb recommendations for eating and checking out the town. The room was huge and gorgeous. Looked right out on the lake. Separate sitting room and sleeping area. Gigantic bathroom! Three restaurants on site; all good. Free shuttle to downtown Queenstown is provided. There is also a 10 NZD each way boat taxi ... The overall venue of this hotel is nice, relaxing location with good views, it is out of town and you're limited in food options to only whats on site, which on Monday and Tuesday will be an issue with only pub food and limited cafe food available. This is all let down by low staffing levels and some poor customer service as well as some maintenance issues. Room service took over 5 mins and didn't even get answered, I called the external line on my mobile which got answered before my still ring... Read more

The guest room was massive compared to normal hotel rooms. The breakfast was good and you can buy breakfast vouchers for cheaper at $25 at reception before you go to breakfast. Pleasant staff and stay.

My husband and I are diamond members and booked the Hilton Queenstown as part of his 50th birthday trip. Don't be put off by the out of town location. The Hilton has a free bus shuttle and there is a water taxi directly from the hotel to downtown Queenstown. We booked one of their Relaxation Suites. It was amazing! It looked like a ski lodge with a sitting area, fireplace, bedroom and bath. The best part was the jacuzzi on the deck that we used every night after site seeing. We also had d... Read more

We stayed at the Hilton at Queenstown as part of our tour of New Zealand. The hotel is a complicated mix of different buildings and there was some building work in progress. We were pleased with our lake view plus room which had a small balcony with a gorgeous view out over the lake. The room had a king sized bed and a seating area. There was a gas fire which gave the room a nice cozy effect on an evening. The bathroom was large and complete with a roll top bath which also had a view of the lake... Read more

Had so much fun. Beautiful rooms. Loved eBike ride in countryside. Will come back again soon. Like shuttle or boat to town as alternative to renting car. Welcomed by friendly staff. Beautiful location.

Well appointed, modern hotel, extremely comfortable rooms, great service, but expensive. The hotel is very modern with a well put together palette of materials. The service from arrival to departure from hotel staff was excellent. Attention to detail was especially appreciated, such as providing some extra treats for runners, since the staff knew I was staying to compete in a full marathon race. The room was wonderful, split level, loved the living area layout, especially the tv above a fire. ... Read more
