This is a lovely place to stay in Queenstown. Two minutes walk to the centre but in a quiet street. Comfy beds, nice linen, spotless shower room. Not huge rooms but very well-appointed. A lovely welcome from Richard who was keen for us to enjoy our stay and willing to spend loads of time advising us on where to eat, what to do etc. Queenstown is fantastic. We had wondered whether it would be too "young" for us and full of adrenalin junkies but it's great for all ages. We hired bikes and cycled r... Read more

Arrived to a very warm welcome from Charlotte with a nice glass of champagne. We were made to feel at home. A very clean a tidy hotel and only a 5 minute walk away from the centre of town. Delicious breakfasts await you every morning along with a friendly smile from all the staff.

This small hotel is only five minutes walk from central Queenstown. It has a lot of things to recommend it: comfy beds, nice staff, home made cookies in room, quiet rooms available on request, Molton Brown toiletries, easy hotel entry via a push button coded front door and delicious breakfasts made to order. Our room was only just big enough for comfort and we had just two carry-on bags. Tea/coffee making facilities are provided in the wardrobe, but there is not much room to manoeuvre in terms o... A very enjoyable stay. Excellent staff: Richard and Charlotte (owners) went above and beyond to make our visit in Queenstown a truly unique experience. Great restaurant and activities recommendations. Also assisted with recommendations for other NZ cities (Auckland). Great location: The hotel was close to the main streets, the gondola and Kiwi Birdlife Park. Delicious Breakfast: Wide variety of hot plate options (personal recommendation: Eggs Benedict and Blueberry Pancakes) and fruits. Room... Read more

We were the first to stay in the apartment, which is the former living quarters of the owner. Beautifully decorated, and with everything that we needed to make this a home from home for the three days we were in Queenstown. The pre-arrival help provided by the owners, Richard and Charlotte, was outstanding - far beyond the normal recommendations. Dinner and sightseeing recommendations, dinner reservations and trip bookings. Very responsive, and a great personal touch. The apartment is a s... Read more

We were greeted by owner Richard with a lovely glass of champagne and warm welcome. Room had beautiful view and was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and staff assisted in some great restaurant recommendations. The fire in the common areas was lit each night and it was all in all a wonderful experience I would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Queenstown.

My 15 year old daughter and I spent 5 nights at the Dairy and loved it. Queenstown is stunning as was the view from our room. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Champagne on arrival was a lovely touch in front of a roaring open fire as our bags were delivered to our room. They have a cute breakfast in a shared dining room and cook your meal while you wait. The porridge is delicious by the way. Highly recommend this little hotel. Short walk down some steps (which are a slight killer on sore l... Read more

My wife and I spent a couple of nights at The Dairy and had a fabulous time. We arrived in the early evening on Saturday and were warmly greeted by Robin. He was tremendously helpful in describing opportunities for dinner and even moved his car so that I could use one of The Dairy's parking spaces. Spots are limited. The location is excellent - just two blocks up the hill from downtown Queenstown and two blocks down the hill from the Gondola ride up to Skyline. The room and bedding were ver... Read more

Stayed here with my husband for 2 nights during a particularly cold patch with snowfall. The hotel is very well located just a street or so away from the main drag so quiet but only a few minutes walk to shops, bars and restaurants. It is also a few minutes up the hill to the Gondola that takes you to the top of a mountain with excellent views over the area - worth the trip up in the cable car. We arrived earlier than check in time and our room was ready so Rowan let us into our room. We wer... Read more

We've stayed at the Dairy Hotel on two occasions and it was an experience in excellence each time. We're looking forward to a return visit. It's a luxurious and elegant boutique hotel, beautifully-appointed, restful, and in a great location. The owners are wonderful hosts and they made our stays memorable. First class for quality and high standards. The top ratings are well-deserved.

We were greeted by Richard at the door and he provided every assistance with our bags, the hotel amenities and appropriate places to visit in and around Queenstown. The views from the room were spectacular and the room was appropriate for the type of accommodation. The bed was very comfortable. The lounge and other shared facilities were top class. The ensuite was clean and serviceable but not to the expected standard given the "luxury boutique" expectation. We are planning to stay again fo... Read more

The Dairy is a lovely home away from home. The service was outstanding - the team happily organised activities and made suggestions which made our stay better. The breakfast was delicious. Our room had everything we needed and was well appointed. The floorboards upstairs were a bit creaky but that is what you have to expect in a traditional old NZ building full of history as this one is. Remember to pack your swimming things as the spa is great after a full on day.

Greeted with a warm welcome next to the fire place. This cute little hotel has the feel of luxury without all the fuss. I stayed here in Winter with my wife and we hope to return next season. The Dairy is a B&B which is very comfortable. Our room was ok and had a view of the mountains (and the backpackers rubbish next door). The shower was over the bath but had great water pressure and the towels were nice. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choices. The service is good but not what it was under the previous owners.

Great location. Was able to walk down to my favourite patisserie every morning. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very well heated. One suggestion I would make is for there to be more crockery that what there is at present. Mugs were very small and we were forever washing up plates to reuse. Some plastic plates and cups for small children would be most welcome. On the whole a big thumbs up

Weather at this time of year dicey. So when we came down for breakfast expecting to do a full day tour with planes and boats, Richard knowingly shook his head and asked for our agenda. He then got on the phone, while covering everyone else's breakfast, and had our days flipped. Organized the changes, transfers everything. And was happy to do it. The people at the Dairy Barn were fabulous - super helpful in getting us to all the attractions possible in the limited time we had.
