The location is good. The rooms are clean. The price is what it is. The computer system for the Quality Inn was down "intermittently" but somehow it was down all three times I needed to get a receipt. Normally I would rate this accommodation a 3 out of 5 but after dealing with the rude guy over the phone this morning to try and get a receipt e-mailed to me ... it's a 1! We have over 300 staff and we do a lot of travel. I think we might take our business to one of the many other accommod... Read more

This is the second time we have stayed here (and second review!), the first time was last year. It's not a fluke that we received good friendly service or that the rooms were lovely, nice & clean the first time because that's exactly what we got the second time!'s central with a decent sized pool, excellent for families. The only hotel we will stay in & recommend to friends & family :-)

First of all, we got their at around 6pm, and we got a free upgrade from our standard room, to a room with a spa bath in it. Though we didnt use the spa bath, it was definitely appreciated! Off street carparking, free wifi, cheap, within walking distance to other restaurants and the aquarium. the hotel itself is relatively old, but honestly nothing really wrong with it, its worth its money.

Overall the place was good. I was on level 2, however a point to note is that all the doors are ranch sliders so if people are making noise (like some people were on Sat morning at 5am) it comes right into your room. The staff were very nice, rooms very clean and everything you could want with a small kitchenette, more than reasonable bathroom and some Sky channels. The WiFi was fine if a bit slow at times. I can't comment on the food at the hotel as we didn't eat there however the pool got a ... Read more

My room was well presented. Liked the roomy tiled wet shower. The kitchenette had a microwave, fridge and crockery and cutlery for 3 persons. The room has a heat pump for the cold nights but the one in my room seemed to be functioning less efficiently. The hotel is very centrally located and is directly across The Warehouse and within easy walking distance of the central city. The hotel has a restaurant named "Bistro" but it was not to my liking. Read the review on this restaurant.

On the whole - good. However negative features were: no rack to hold suitcase when unpacking, breakfast was not as good as in the past and coffee was abominable. On the positive side, the green tea and coffee provided in the room were excellent.

The room was very clean and tidy and had everything required for a stay. Only downside was the noise. Road noise and other guests coming and going. I stay in Napier every few weeks for work and this was my first time here.

This is one of the regular places I stay when in Napier. It is right across the road from the ocean, and while you can't see it, it is within hearing. On this trip I arrived late, well after reception closed and the arrangements to get the room key was very easy. As the room service is linked to the restaurant you don't need to have your breakfast order in the night before, you can call up in the morning and they will bring it over. The same for dinner, which was great. The breakfast was deli... Read more

I lived next door to this hotel over 40 years ago so it was withstood the test of time! The rooms are spacious and comfortable and in good condition. Plenty of on site parking. Good location with short walk to the main town area and all the attractions along Marine Parade. Good hotel for a short visit.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a Deluxe Room. The staff are very friendly and responsive to any questions you might have. The hotel is only 10-15 mins walk to the beautiful art deco city centre. What's great is that you will have a pleasurable walk along the Napier's iconic Marine Parade (I recommend you take a walk along the ocean in the early morning or late evening). The only thing about the hotel is that you'll need to go up the stairs to reach your room. Not a problem for me but might be a pr... Read more

I have been visiting the Bay once a month for work for the past two years and had been staying at a different hotel but became tired of the slack service both me and my work colleague had been receiving there. So I suggested we try the Quality Inn instead of our usual. I immediately received a friendly greeting on arrival. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but all of the rooms were refurbished in 2011 and are in a very nice, clean state. The location on marine parade is great, lo... Read more

This place is a good location along the waterfront. It is a good standard and is exactly what I expected for the price I paid. Great to be able to have parking. No road noise with the room we were in. Lovely staff and the lady was very welcoming on arrival.

Stayed here over the weekend and it was great. Room was a nice size with all the amenities. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who was more than welcoming. Right across the road from the beach and very close to everything in town. Overall stay was great.
