My daughter and I stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn Auckland Airport a few nights ago as my daughter needed to catch an early flight the next morning. Both of us found it a very comfortable place to stay. Our room was spacious with two double beds and a good sized bathroom. The decor was modern and in good order. There was a good sized flat screen TV and my daughter enjoyed using the free internet we received after joining the rewards club. Check in and check out were a breeze. All in al... Read more

So, the idea was to be close to the airport and have no costs with transportation. Turns out that this hotel, despite of its name, is 4km away from the airport and then you have transportation cost to the hotel of minimum $6 per person (yellow bus). If you get a cab, they will charge you $30! When you want to go downtown, either you pay a taxi of over $40 (considering no traffic) or you get the yellow bus back to the airport (so $6) and there you get the sky bus (more $16). This is just one way ... Read more

My wife has been at a three day conference in Auckland. Of course the company she was with had negotiated a deal allowing $45.00 for each meal. Night one my wife orders room service...no problem. Night 2 dinner in the restaurant....you can only have the Buffet...not the best, lunch leftovers. Night 3..sorry you cannot order room service, despite being told by the check in and the conference organisers that she could. Not the best treatment.

I found this a comfortable hotel and remarkably quiet for being so close to airport. Spacious rooms with a good desk if you need to work. A bit sterile as with many of these types of hotels. I found choice of menu in bar better than in restaurant which had a somewhat tiring looking buffet with same items on lunch and dinner. Pleasant staff. Good value for money

We chose this hotel based on the reputation of the name Holiday Inn but were a little shocked how dated this hotel was, especially compared to other hotels we stayed both in Auckland and the North Island on this trip. We felt like we had fallen back into the 1980's with the design, layout and decor. This is a solid 3 star hotel. The room was simple, clean and functional with all the expected bathroom amenities but awkward to get to with lots of luggage especially with no lifts to the second flo... Read more

Stayed on the second floor and had someone offer to have me bags brought to my room as there is no lift and I was on my own. I had room service that night and they said a 20-30minute wait and came in between that time, and was an excellent meal! There were signs everywhere saying quiet zones and really was. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Auckland Airport a couple of times now before an early flight out of Auckland. The stay and park deal is great value with up to 21 days of secure parking and a shuttle bus to and from the airport. Rooms are clean and comfortable with all the expected amenities. Good restaurant and kids eat free from a great kids menu. Pool area is great on a hot day. Overall great service and good value.

The location of the hotel is perfect if our flight arrive late or depart early, this is good choice. It's not direct at the airport, so it's rather quiet but easy to get with shuttlebus... Hotel it self is quite basic, room's are spacious, breakfast is good and at the evenings you can also eat at the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. In all good value for money!!

Got a decent deal as I needed a one night stay to catch an early flight in the morning. The room is big and comfortable. The picky might be uset by the rusty brown stains on the bathmat, or the fact the box that in most places would be full of sachets of hot chocolate, instant coffee etc hadn't been filled and contained a single tea bag. The highlight for me was the excellent friendly service at reception. Ate at the hotels restaurant, and while tasty, didn't have all the ingredients mentione... Read more

A quality hotel very close to the airport, yet far enough away to enjoy a good sleep. Much nicer than the nearby options but would still benefit from refurbishment. A better place for business lunches and group presentations too. Part of the IHG group of course. It's the first time I've seen luggage scales in the lobby to avoid that anxiety at checkin. A decent accommodation closer to the airport and well maintained rooms. Pros- Spacious rooms, good room service, near to airport and short distance from Manukau precinct. Good option if you prefer a hotel to an apartment On the flip side- It is difficult to get a taxi from the airport as it is too near and taxi operators point to the free shuttle service for which you need to wait for 15 to 20 minutes. For the American traveler this hotel is more of a Hampton Inn/Fairfield Inn than what we consider a Holiday Inn back in the states. We spent one night at The Holiday Inn Auckland Airport. The hotel is reached via the ??Big Yellow Bus?? shuttle which serves it and several other nearby hotels (cost $6NZD/person each way). You can buy tickets from a machine (which accepts credit cards) at the bus pick up spot. Once at the hotel, we received a complimentary upgrade to a lovely two-room suite that was actually an apartment with a kitchen & microwave. Since we arrived late and had already had a great meal on the plane, we d... Read more

This was another quick trip to AKL and the Holiday Inn never disappoints. Quick and efficient check-in and a room upgrade which was appreciated. The fruit basket was also a nice touch (sorry I did not mention this to the staff on check-out). Room service was efficient and the presentation quite good. Would love to see a return to salt and pepper shakers if possible though. Checkout was efficient as was issue with room charge being done against a credit card (reversed on checkout) even though t... The hotel is an older 1970's hotel/ motel style, so it is getting a bit tired. Our room was quite large and on the ground floor, looking out to the lovely gardens. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. We had a meal at the restaurant and this was very nice, despite waiting for nearly an hour for it to be served. The staff was very apologetic, and gave us both a complimentary drink, as there was a wedding function happening at the same time through another area. We would stay here again beca... Read more

We stayed here on our way out to Australia and when we came back. The greeting on arrival both times was very Good. We arrived back into NZ very early in the morning and we were greeted by the most lovely lady. We chose to stay here because we could leave our car with them for up to 21 days. (unlike some hotels which only allow 7 days) Booking was easy and the Staff are all very pleasant. We dined in the Hotel restaurant and the food was very GOOD.

if you decide to eat a la carte and not at the buffet be ready to wait at least 45 minutes . I waited 45 minutes for a sweet potato soup and a dish of raw fish . In 45 minutes they were no able to serve the dinner and I gave up and left the restaurant . The service is just awful.

This place is much better than many budget airport hotels. The service is welcoming and the rooms are big. The free breakfast also has much more on offer than a typical hotel like this and the fare is decent. There's a bar that has decent drinks. Do note that all the airport hotels are a $12NZD (about $9 US) round-trip shuttle ride away. It comes every half hour.

After travelling new zealand and booking a one night stay for airport convenience. The holiday inn really impressed me. The room was spacious it had a pool a buffet for $45 per person and the food is really good. With a handy wine selection the pillows could be a bit better. But all in all i was really happy with our stay :)

Arriving by car you notice that there is a lot of parking available and it's conveniently close to our tower entrance. Check in was a breeze and the lovely lady spoke about joining the IHG rewards club. How could I say no too complimentary bottled water (1each) and late check out of 2pm for every booking made plus discounts and points. Sold! Our Spa Bath room was spacious and the spa fabulous. Very clean and bed comfortable too. Building is dated like stepping back to the 70's which we enjoye... Read more

Our room was tucked in the corner over looking one of the goldfish filled ponds. The room was large enough and nice and clean. Not ultra modern but tidy and well maintained. Their was a bit of noise from the hallway through the door but the rest seemed well insulated from inter room noise. Ideal for airport and business trips. Had a small but functional pool so good for families staying over. Can't comment on breakfast as for the price extra I figured we'd find someone else to eat. Staff reall... Read more

Excellent check in and check out - speedy, friendly and helpful. Older style hotel it might be but it is modern inside and there is a feeling of spaciousness. My room was excellent - clean, modern, large and the bathroom was sparkling. Staff were universally friendly and the service was efficient in the house bar and the dining room. The food was very good for the price. This is a seriously good airport accommodation option - in fact, it is better than that. Will stay here again.

What was different? 1. A bit further from the airport than expected (for an "airport" hotel). There is a convenient shuttle bus that inconveniently visits other hotels ;) Or there is a $25 taxi! 2. It is low and flat, not tall and vertical. Who cares? It was just unusual (for me) to be on the ground floor. 3. Nice grounds/environment. Otherwise the front-desk service was good, Internet fast, rooms comfortable, room-service fast - so all good really.

This was a great hotel to spend the night. I particularly enjoyed: The front desk staff were very professional and friendly The room had a heat pump Every room had a balcony Lots of car parking It was very quiet Room service menu had a lot of variety Lots of power points and well located in the room Free water on check in Free unlimited wifi for club members (free to join) Didn't like: The beds were only doubles

A relaxing first stay at the Holiday Inn AKL Airport. Although a little dated, harking back to the 80's, the rooms are still clean and modern. The grounds are a lush sub tropical oasis and most rooms face the lovely greenery, fountains and pool. (it even has a vege garden). FOOD:The dinner buffet which I had was substantial and value for money (although the lamb was a little dry and tasteless). Looking at some of the a la carte offerings, they also seemed to be a good option. The buffet breakfas... Read more

Being there already twice for a night and I would say that the staff, atmosphere, bedroom are excellent. The only issue is the shared bus shuttle (yellow bus) with some other hotels from the airport; only 1 every 30mn and this is quite long to reach the hotel. It could be complimentary for hotel guests...

Have endured this place for a number of years, staying as a result of work. Fortunately I don't have to pay for the room! The bed is comfortable if you get a queen size bed, and that is the only good thing. Food quality has gone down and prices have gone up. As you are isolated there is no alternative. Try somewhere else!

To be fair the hotel was fine... Better than fine, it was nice. Free drink at the bar. Room was excellent. Good ac unit. Comfy bed. All good. Except getting there and leaving, omg! The intersection is torn up, detours, lane restrictions, orange barriers everywhere all around here and on turns towards the airport and too hotel. I like the hotel, but this was ridiculous! Holiday inn should complain to the city, what a mess.

I have been here a number of times now. The room are always clean and tidy and the customer service is very good. I often eat at the hotel restaurant too. The food is more than adequate and there is never any shortage of it. The rooms have SKY tv and plenty of floor space. ample power outlets and are usually nice and quiet.

Room was brilliant - Spacious and clean, well appointed with free and quick Wifi. Buffet dinner was excellent. Check in and check out was easy. I am not a fan of sowers in the bath tub. The only draw back was that I could hear the Rifle Range somewhere close by firing for most of the night till late.

This hotel is about 5 minutes drive away. There is a shuttle bus (paid service) just outside the airport that will bring you to the hotel ( and back). The rooms are clean and comfortable. Free wifi for IHG members. Buffet breakfast available with a good selection of food. The hotel rates was on the high side- other cheaper options are available, depending on availability.

Our international flight was delayed for ten hours so our airline gave us a free room here plus lunch and dinner. The hotel at first glance is lackluster but the rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff are friendly and the buffet was pretty tasty.

Stayed here with my husband on a company-funded accommodation. The price per room per day is about Php 12k or USD 240. Quite expensive, but I guess most of the hotel and hostel accommodation in Auckland are quite pricey. The room is spacious, with queen bed, a sofa and table, and a study table. It has microwave (although not every room has one) and refrigerator, and other standard amenities like coffee maker, iron, vault. The bathroom has a tub. What I like most in this hotel is the bed! My company booked me into this hotel during a period of hightened activity in Auckland, but any stretch of the imagination cannot justify the night rate of NZ$ 750. To make matters worse, the hotel took a deposit of $790 when checking in. I spoke to the desk telling them about the size of the deposit, and they still recharged me. Seriously, the hotel is nothing special and clearly focussed on making money as opposed to client custon.

This is a hotel that many flight crews stay at and where the locals come for weddings. Great deal of you want to park your car here for longer too. It's older hotel but the restaurant serves up some great food and the staff are really really friendly! And you're really close to the airport - regular shuttle bus both ways.

Couldn't have asked for a better hotel. A bit unassuming, and maze like hotel interior but room is immaculate, clean and tidy. Courteous and professional staff. Has a nice central garden area around the pool. Gym is very good for a Holiday Inn hotel. Restaurant has great food. Location is on the south side of Auckland, close to the airport though about 30 mins from the city.
