Good location and value for Hamilton CBD. Very old hotel that has been renovated and is very comfortable for a quick stay. Parking is good value at $10 per day and is on-site. Close to casino and restaurants - recommend for short term stays on a budget.

I stay here often as great central location, staff are very helpful and the rooms are clean and newly decorated. For the cheap price they charge they exceed my expectations Tip; Additional bonus is on site car park although does cost extra and if you book through an online service this can't be selected (pop in notes part and they'll keep one for you) The corridors to your room are a bit of a maze to navigate due to building once being a Cobb n co !

The Sudima was the hotel we stayed at on the first night we arrived in New Zealand. The lobby was nice but then we went up to our room. It smelt like urine and cigarettes and It wasn't clean at all. The bench was sticky and I found dirty tissues under the bed and behind the bedside table. Sleeping there was very unpleasant. The Sudima has potential to be better than it is.

The staff were super helpful but things have been 'touched up' not refurbishedâ?¦our door didn't fit too big for the frameâ?¦shower mouldyâ?¦fridge freezer iced over so not useable but the best is that the beds were made with flat sheets on the bottom that were too smallâ?¦you ended up on the mattressâ?¦the mattress pad didn't fit either. Location great but attention to detail very lacking

After looking through lots of other places for my stay in Hamilton for a friend's big birthday celebration I decided to go with the sudima as the photos I saw on the website looked fantastic. When I arrived I was greeted by a very unfriendly man at the counter. I was appalled by the way his whole persona was being portrayed towards me. It was almost as if he was disgusted by my presence. Being someone from a customer service based job I was quite shocked having this happen. Once I checked in I w... Read more

I have stayed at various Sudima branches and usually find it is a good brand. This one is located in an old building that I think is actually the Historic â??Commercial Hotel' where Cobb and Co once was in downstairs. There was a football match in town, the Novotel, Ibis, and even Oaks across the road were all full.. we hadnâ??t booked, so we were thankful to get what I think was Hamilton city's last half-decent room in the main street. The reception was okay and the solo staff was fr... Read more

Great staff very helpful. Room was good with modern shower and toilet. Was a bit disappointed having to pay daily for hotel parking. Extra $40 on the bill. Stayed for 4 nights on business. Pros: Quiet, Great staff, Central city, Wifi,Sky, Pricing. Cons: Limited access to second floor stairs only, Hotel parking, No micro wave, Room access from car park limited.

I would recommend that any female travelers avoid this hotel. There were problems with accessing the hotel at night and also other random people accessing the hotel room that had been booked (when you'd normally be asleep). The room was entered by someone using a access card after midnight and had I not been there then you wonder if your belongings would still be there?? The whole other issue of personal safety I'm trying not to think about as anything really could have happened at that time of... Read more

I booked this hotel because of its location. I knew that it was a 3-star hotel and did not expect all the bells and whistles of a higher-level hotel, but I still found it seriously lacking. After parking in the underground carpark, I pulled three wheeled bags down endless tatty corridors and up and down two lifts to get to the reception. When I pointed out that it would have been handy to have a trolley available (there was one at reception), I got the reply that it used to be two hotels. No... Read more

Had a fantastic time at Sudima hotel, so clean and tidy without any problems. Free wifi for everyone was also a bonus. All the staff were super friendly and helpful especially the receptionists on recommending restaurants etc. would definitely stay here again

I'll start with the good points: the location is great and central, and the reception staff are excellent. The rest was either average or not too great, unfortunately. I know this can't be helped but if you arrive with a car, the journey to reception is incredibly convoluted and confusing. You have to wind through corridors (some a bit creepy), go up a lift, and then down another. Also our room, 102, was in I believe the very old part of the hotel, and in my opinion it's in need of an update. Th... Read more

Upgraded by manager for all 3 rooms so elderly mother in law could have a walk in shower. Much appreciated as this allowed us all to stay on the same floor. Rooms were nice and clean. Bit of a hike to the carpark but no real hassle.

Staff were not helpful. decor is down market. Rooms are not to the standard advertised. Extra costs that were not clear from web advertising - such as car parking. Not a pleasant stay. Location was fine for my purposes.

Right on the strip of most of the restaurants so easy to walk to find food for lunch or dinner.... Melissa and the manager (didn't catch his name) was so nice and amazing... He helped with our luggage to the bus terminal as the taxi didn't/couldn't pitch... Wasn't a problem for him...Rooms are spacious And clean.... Big ups to the staff! Including housekeeping.... Wifi is also strong and fast... Will return if we come back to New Zealand đ???đ??»đ???đ??»đ???đ??»

The professional photos did not resemble our room. Carpet was in bad shape. Bottom sheet barely covered the mattress. Could not clear the room of the musty smell. Lobby is nice and staff is friendly but our room was badly in need of renovation.

The room felt dirty and tired. the layout was a rambling mess. Also the guttering outside my room when it rained was so loud it woke me up. When I checked out early (having told recpetion the night before) no-one was at reception and then when they did arrive after a significant wait, they messed about so much unlocking the door and trying to open the carpark gate that I almost missed my flight. I will never ever stay in this hotel again!

My sister and i required 2 bdrms, quarters were spacious throughtout. Comfy beds and were nice clean ones. Lovely balcony off lounge but couldnt use due to health & safety (council was quoted) which was a huge let down. Ice box sadly had pea in ice cube tray and hadnt been cleaned for awhile. Minor cleaning problems need to be addressed like dirty mirrors, and balcony door and dust of frames but overall ok. If you staying main street side Friday nights get pretty noisy with revellers going abou... Read more

Although I have marked this as average, the price is average also! Most of the rooms are renovated so they are clean,& fresh. Although missing a few amenities for eg; nowhere to put your things in the shower. Everything goes on the floor! There was little or no vanity, so again your things go on the floor. We also found we had to fill the jug from the bath tap as it wouldn't fit in the sink. Silly small things that could be easily fixed. However as I said, clean and new, and the staff are always... We found this hotel last minute. Whilst it was basic, the price was very good. On arrival the hotel was old and a bit of a maze, the entire place seemed clean and well maintained. The room was a good size and nice and clean. The highlight of this hotel was the amazing service by the staff. On a number of our interactions with the staff on our very short stay, they went above and beyond. Well done!

Friendly & efficient check in and a quiet, clean & well set out room. Well placed in Hamilton CBD with easy access to shops and restaurants. Wifi was good and $NZ10 a day parking available on site. Only complaint was the lack of shelves in shower and bathroom with no where to place toiletries. Overall a well priced hotel in a great position that is easy to recommend.

Not my first choice based on old experiences but nowhere else to stay at this particular time. I had a room on the second floor, it looks like it has been refurbished but is very small. Having said that the room has all you need including air conditioning, although the ironing board was broken as well as the iron. It's the small things that do make the difference, I wish people would learn.....Anyway, that aside, it worked for me this time, it's in a great position in Hamilton and if you can wor... Read more

Clean, perfectly adequate welcoming staff great price for an overnight business trip and no additional charge for parking. I like a hotel where you can open windows. On the main street so restaurants are all very close by.
