The staff are friendly, and the layout and fit out is good for the price. But the major downfall is the lack of heating. The 2 bedroom unit that we stayed in had one wall fan heater that was set on a low thermostat so it would only take the edge off and then would turn off. For the middle of winter this place needs to provide more heating, even if it's just a fan heater that you can plug in. The other thing was that only one side of the electric blanket worked on the queen bed and the single bed... Read more

We use this motel purely to sleep in after evenings out as its a more economical option than a taxi back to Rangiora . Yes the units are cold but they are clean & have comfortable beds . Quiet location & good off street parking . Easy walk in heels to Merivale or Victoria Street .

Location is really great. The convenience store and many restaurants are within walking distance. We stayed in 2 bedrooms units with kitchen living room and 2 bedroom and 1 bathroom. The place was nice and clean with well-maintained. Somehow, the wifi didn't work on some our devices and the speed was slow. But it's not a big deal after long-haul flight, we slept like a baby. The bed was real comfy. The staff is nice and friendly even guide us where to go for the good restaurant nearby and us... Read more

Ok place to stay at an affordable price. Parking needs to be marked for each unit. Handy to restaurants and mall. We stayed in a two bedroom unit. The unit has been freshly painted and was clean. The road noise was not a problem despite being a weekend.

We had a family room on the ground floor of the main Manor House, beautiful old building and lovely decor. Very friendly and helpful owners with good local knowledge. Close enough to the city center to walk in through the park. Small kitchen but everything we needed for a short stay and with some great food outlets etc so close by didn't really cook anyway :) Great having the breakfast supplies included with the price of the room

Bit gutted to book a two bedroom unit (two queen beds OR one queen and twin singles), to find my boys had to share a queen. If the rooms aren't able to be made up as both options then I think they should be listed separately as booking options so I know that the twin option isn't available. The room otherwise was OK. Free DVD to borrow for the kids was nice. Need a bigger pot for a unit that can house 4 (or5) the pot was very small. I think it was over priced, was expecting something nice for ... Read more

Like others before us have mentioned, the unit was very cold. Asked for and got a small fan heater. We had a large one room unit with a large double bed and a single bed. Separate kitchen. Unit was clean and tidy and reasonable quite for Papanui Road. I thought the unit was overpriced. Would I stay again, maybe not at the price.

I write this review as I lie here unable to sleep, planning to check out early tomorrow and find other accomodation. The bedroom has a glass front door and other windows for which there are no curtains. Took our daughter ages to get to sleep as even with all curtains pulled, room still bright. Too bright for me to sleep either. We have attempted to cover windows with some of our bedding but with little success. There is also lots of road noise (this is a very busy road and with Chch having lots ... Read more
