Was perfect for what we wanted, but the noise of the air circulation system kept us awake. This is not the same as the air conditioning system, which worked fine. You could turn the latter off but not the hotel air circulation system.

This quirky colourful hotel was just as advertised and then some. We were a group of 3 and had booked two rooms with the aim of being somewhere central, fun, and comfortable. It was all of those. We had rooms with small balconies which were perfect to sit out on with a nice glass of the complimentary bottle of wine from the otago region. The staff were great, really friendly and informative and the tram running thro the hotel only added to the experience. We had super breakfasts and service in t... Read more

The location of this hotel is fantastic however the description of a standard room as a "double" is totally unacceptable - you cannot even access both sides of the bed! The room we were given was triangular in shape with a window either side of the "pointed end", both sides overlooking the balconies of the rooms to either side. This meant that if you wanted to get cool air into the room, your neighbours (if they were so inclined) could access your room - one window was not even fitted with a "... Read more

We were checking in when the rooms up-sell started, so we thought we should inspect the rooms first. The Standard room that was so small that you couldn't easily actually enter and place your bag down without being unable to move any further. We upgraded to a Superior Queen with Balcony which allowed the luxury of around 600ml of space on each side of the bed. What we did not discover until much later is that there's no air conditioning in these rooms. We were told that we could upgrade again fo... Read more

Great, clean, modern place to stay. Staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. They even offered me free fruit and took my bags up for me! Lovely place to stay, would highly recommend. The room itself is really nicely decorated, modern, with special touches like a personalised note and free water bottles for me. Will definitely stay there again!

Quirky boutique hotel in central Christchurch. Room was small but well decorated and had a balcony overlooking the tram station. The location in the tram station is certainly original, the trams are purely for tourism and do not run late at night or early morning so noise is not a problem. For breakfast, there are a few good options on New Regent Street, about 1 min walk away. We were there in prime holiday season and found it necessary to reserve restaurants for dinner. Central Christchurch is ... Read more

Great room, clean and comfortable with plenty of space. Helpful staff for things like airport shuttle and city directions. Small things like coffee and fruit in reception made it a great stay overall.

I stayed here for two nights. Loved this little quirky hotel and would stay here again. Location is great in the heart of Christchurch near many restaurants and cafes. Booked a room with a balcony and was not disappointed. It provided a little outdoor space where I could drink coffee and relax. The room was fresh and comfortable and of an appropriate standard. I arrived early and knew that my room would not be ready. As I was heading out on a day tour I asked the staff if I could complete the... Read more

Stayed 2 nights with family (2 adults, 2 kids 8&5). Nice enough hotel. All amenities and incidentals were relatively clean and modern (except for a few stains on the carpet). Booked the family interconnecting rooms, which was pretty expensive considering. Also the "parents" room as tiny - like NYC hotel room tiny. We had all our bags in the kids room which was quite spacious (don't think we didn't consider swapping with them....). Location is right above the main stop of the tram and across the ... Read more

Stayed there for a night on recent visit to Christchurch. Staff are welcoming and friendly. The room was excellent, nicely decorated, comfortable. Only issue was no air conditioning, but there's a fan and heating element. So unless it's very hot, it should be fine. Next to shops, cafe, theatre. Cathedral square is 5 minutes away, main shopping district about 8 minutes. Highly recommended.
