Stayed there for a night on recent visit to Christchurch. Staff are welcoming and friendly. The room was excellent, nicely decorated, comfortable. Only issue was no air conditioning, but there's a fan and heating element. So unless it's very hot, it should be fine. Next to shops, cafe, theatre. Cathedral square is 5 minutes away, main shopping district about 8 minutes. Highly recommended.

A beautiful boutique hotel in a great location. Walking distance to everything. The decor makes a lovely change to the stock standard hotel room you get just about everywhere nowdays, lots of colour and interesting things to look at and soak up. Located on top of the city circle tram but I couldn't hear it from my room even with the windows open meant I got a good nights sleep. Lots of lovely places in the local area for dinner. The hot stone restaurant and cafe just outside the front door ... Read more

Three day stay with a family of 4 (both kids <8yrs) in a relatively new hotel fitted out in a stylish mod / neo art-deco format in a central locale minutes from one of Christchurch's main eat streets. We stayed in the family room; that is two adjacent and adjoining rooms which were large for the hotel though not necessarily absolutely so. That said the kids thoroughly enjoyed the luxury of not only having their own room but their own TV and bathroom. (In the interests of a good night's sleep,... Read more

Stayed a couple nights. Main issues: 1, no hotel parking. Public parking nearby required feeding meter at midnight or early morning. 2, lost key results in $30 fine. This is excessive!!! I have never ever stayed at a hotel with such a policy for a key card. 3, neighbors shutting the door shook my entire room. Really unpleasant and woke me up a lot. 4, I paid a lot for my room and saw the price drop by $30 a few weeks later, but they would not refund me. Suggest booking on expedia or anot... Read more

Stayed for one night as it looked great - different to the usual Novotel/Quest/Ibis/etc type hotels. Very appreciative that they stayed open until 1:15am to let us in (reception closes through the night). Rooms were tiny and bed short. I'm 6 feet and my feet dangled over the edge of the bed even propping myself to the wall. We have 2 rooms interconnecting that worked fine for a short overnight stay. But the carpets at entry on both rooms has carpet stains. The wifi in either room did not wor... Read more

Stayed here for two nights. Liked the look of the place on the website. Booked a standard - upgraded to a Queen. Location is perfect. Tram leaves from downstairs. Restaurants, cafes, bottle, and convenience store on you doorstep. The standard room is small. I prefer a bit more room. Hence the upgrade. Did not cost too much more. The hotel is beautiful. Everything is of a good quality and styled / decorated tastefully with a feeling of modern contemporary class. The service is 5 star. Friendl... Read more

Excellent city centre location, the picturesque tram line drove right through the hotel building! The hotel is boutique, modern, clean and well decorated. However, the room was small dark and pokey. Tiny window with no view. Doors difficult to pass through with suitcases. The bed was a small double. Bathroom was stylish. All in all pretty claustrophobic. Had we stayed longer, I think we would have upgraded ourselves, but this was just a late arrival/early departure bed for the night for us. Com... Read more

We stumbled on this hotel last minute staying in Christchurch for one night. We loved how beautifully styled the hotel was and our room. We booked our room with a complementary executive breakfast and came to the room to find gourmet New Zealand yogurt, cereals, granolas and fresh fruit. Totally worth it and nicely presented!! Only downside of the whole visit was that they were finalizing construction at the time and our door and outdoor space had fresh paint so we had to be careful entering ... Read more

We stayed in this hotel 12/11/16. Room was small but other than that had everything we needed. Was very clean and modern, blockout curtains and no noise heard whatsoever. Bed was comfy, location superb (5 min walk to main Victoria St). Would stay again. Good value.

The hotel was undergoing some renovations or extensions when I visited, so it was challenging to get through some parts just outside our room. The quirky vibe will be great once the work is complete. The staff are pleasant enough but don't really try to engage in much conversation; I mostly stay in B&Bs or lodges when I can for this reason - I enjoy learning about where I stay from locals. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, except there was no desk chair.
