I stayed here on two separate occasions and both times the service and hotel was excellent. The staff were happy to accommodate your needs. Central location to the Christchurch trams and within easy walking distances of all attractions. My second room (no. 26) was large and light as it was on a corner on the first floor. It was a great room if you are interested in viewing the trams across the road.

A historical hotel in the heart of the downtown/central Christchurch. The area was devastated during the earthquake five years ago but is making headway in the rebuild. This did not dis-sway us from seeing the town as the quake and re-build is now part of Christchurch's history. The hop-on/off trolley pick-up and booking center is located across the street from the hotel which was very convenient. Walking distance to the ReStart shopping area as well (check for opening and closing time as st... Read more

Staff were friendly and courteous and couldn't have been more helpful. The Hotel was old world but beautiful. The room which was an upstairs and downstairs suite, was clean and airy. The beds and pillows were like sleeping on a cloud. The amenities were first class from top draw washing machine and dryer to the mini bar which was stocked with items that were not as expensive as I have seen in other less classy establishments. We decided to eat elsewhere only because the menu was not quite to our... Read more

Anyone who goes to Christchurch these days knows how hard it is to get any hotel accommodation. Which is why I found myself staying at The Heritage in November last year. First impressions are pretty good - one of the few old buildings which survived had been converted into a hotel. Once inside however things deflated pretty quick. The decor is dingy (whoever chose the colour scheme obviously aimed for "heritage" - and missed); the whole place smelled of dust, like some neglected old blanket in ... Read more

2 storey suite with 2 bedrooms and bathroom up the stairs on upper floor. Complete with full kitchen facilities and dining table/chairs for 6, sofa and lower level bathroom/wc. Quite extravagant, it was like a reasonable size apartment. Minus points - no full length mirrors, no tv in master bedroom, staff all were from Europe and spoken English/training needs improving. No one on reception this morning when trying to check out - lady acting as bell boy eventually appeared. Not clear about what i... Read more
