A great place to stay and convenience of the conference facility, all in one place makes staying at this hotel a great choice. I have been visiting this Hotel for more than a year for work and find service outstanding from Front desk to Housekeeping and to restaurant staff, I definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is really clean and inviting with spacious foyer and very friendly staff. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is excellent for walking to shopping area and eatery's if you want something different.

I really liked the arty, satellite looking lamp in my room! I just stayed one night but it was a comfortable place to stay with all the expected amenities. Though I wish hotels would check the batteries in their remotes more often....they always appear to be nearly dead when I go to use them!

The Elms is a good place for short business stays, I've spent maybe around 10-15 nights there in total and there has only been one downer for me (most recent stay) ordered room service and it took over an hour, rang the desk to cancel in the end (getting too late in the night) I was hoping for at least a 'sorry about that' on check-out but got no mention. Also the restaurant/bar is called Sapporo Gold but it's not Japanese and doesn't have Sapporo on tap ... weird

Nice hotel that was clean and had a genuine King size bed that was comfortable. Pillows were rock hard and we went out and bought two pillows for a good second nights sleep.(needed at home so not a problem to buy) Staff courteous. Road noise minimal. Lots of shops and restaurants handy. Appreciated special help from chef for our dining in meal. Even the 3.9 earthquake didn't panic us on 4th floor. QUIET fridge - really appreciated that!!

Wifi is good. Can watch YouTube with ease. There's a big fly in my room though. I find that very uncomfortable. There is no door latch which I also find uncomfortable even though you can lock the room. Everything else is good so I have no complaints.

This hotel was pretty nice. The carpet was super soft, the bed was comfy. But the weird thing was that the sheet underneath you was really soft, and the sheet above me was really rough. The staff were friendly, and I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was very reasonably priced and available almost, last minute. In a great location. An easy work to many places to eat and a good shopping mall. Quiet and comfortable. One criticism was that a good coffee seemed a bit of a trial to order, would have been easier to leave the hotel. Otherwise perfect for the price.

I stayed for 4 days and everything was quality. Very comfortable bed, quiet room, good shower, heat pump in room, docking station for ipod with USB connector for other devices, food was yummy (apple fritters were unbelievable) and the staff gave good old-fashioned customer service like human beings not robots. Free shuttle to and from the office near the airport which made it just as convenient as staying in the airport area, plus facilities nearby. I ordered room service as I was unwell and aft... Hotel room was lovely and clean. The beds and pillows were comfy. The rooms are slightly on the small side but it didn't matter as we were only sleeping there. Bathroom was lovely and clean too. Nice and central location and easy to park. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Our family stayed for 4 days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was well presented and very clean. The beds were comfortable and we had all we required for an enjoyable visit. The area was well located, close to convenience shops, a gym, and the Northlands Mall is a short drive down Papanui Road. We enjoyed room service also which was promptly delivered and delicious. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will stay here again.

Stayed in Quality hotel Elms for 3 days 2 nights. Good location with varieties of eateries near hotel. Room is spacious with comfortable king size (2 single beds combined though) mattress. Room furnishings required to upgrade to better quality as current ones are of low quality for a 4 star hotel (pictures as taken).

Stayed at this Hotel and am still smiling :) The room was clean and spacious. The food was AMAZING - highly recommend the restaurant there and the staff were awesome. My only critique is the shower head couldn't be adjusted and I'm short - but when we told the staff they said they would fix it. AM looking forward to staying there again. Plenty of free parking too.

Decent hotel. Quite value for money. Staff not very friendly. Some refurbishment done to the room but the toilet bath is still old. Some fast food around the area and ample parking available. Other tourists could be heard running up and down the corridor but thank goodness it stopped.

Booked online and got an excellent deal. Room had two large queen sized beds that were comfortable and rooms freshly decorated and very clean. Bathroom clean though shower was tricky to get going at the right temperature at first but that could just be the user as hubby had no problems lol. Excellent restaurant and would recommend the Fresh Farmers breakfast. Good off street parking. Friendly helpful staff.

Good shower facilities as well

So called 4 stars hotel but the receptionist(Asian) is so unfriendly, not rude but not friendly! When we entered the room, there's actually a set of unknown clothes hung in the cabinet. Wondering if they changed the bed sheet for next customer, hairs on the bed and we complained, they did changed room for us but the room we settled down then is still with hair and dust on the bed.. I wondered why is this a 4 stars hotel..

Rooms spacious and has all you need. Has proper hair driers, not stupid on the wall ones. Comfortable, not flash. The most important thing for me is a fresh clean and comfortable bed and it measured up. Next on my priority list is a decent hot shower with good water pressure and it is here too. Lots of restaurants and takeaway outlets on the doorstep so you have options. All good

You don't normally expect Quality hotels to capture your imagination-they are practical comfortable hotels, but two things mark this hotel as special. First the excellent food in the restaurant, and second the excellent friendly and helpful staff. They are amazingly good. One of the staff members drove my family to the Antarctic Centre in the hotel car without having been asked. I strongly recommend this hotel.

Staff were so professional, friendly and helpful. Hotel has a loyalty programme that we didn't know about, but definitely a bonus worth mentioning. Bed was very comfy and room spotlessly cleaned and attractively decorated. Tv was a Sony, eco toiletries, underlay on bed was luxurious - excellent quality for the price of our Standard Room. Location conveniently close to mall, food outlets (we didn't have time to eat in lovely restaurant) and petrol station. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed for one night in a King room. Our room was located on the 4th floor of the hotel which is only serviced by one of the two elevators, and twice we had the overweight alarm go off even though it was rated for 11 people/ 780kg and only 5 people were inside. The room was large, quiet and comfortable although the king bed was actually two singles with a wooden board joining them which left a hard area in the centre of the bed. I was taken to the Elms for a birthday weekend and we were given a lovely, though small room, which was decorated in lovely warm browns and was very relaxing. We were very happy there, but about 5.30 there was a lot of noise and talking and people running around. When we went down for dinner I mentioned this at reception, told them it was a special weekend, and asked if they had anything quieter. They were more than happy to check for me and found a room on the 4th floor which was large, had a k... Read more

Loved our 2 night stay here. Comfy rooms, great bed & pillows. We came to hotel approx 7.30pm after 5am start. It was a long day crossing by ferry from the North Island, followed by a rail & bus journey. Our room keys were ready for us 2 pick up. Our buffet dinner was served at 8pm & was delicious & a generous serve. This was followed by desert. I would recommend this place as not far from the city.

Great water pressure. Even had a private ouside patio area. Room was abit dated but very clean and tidy. Size and cleaniness made up for it being abit dated. This was our second time staying at this hotel with 25 others. The rooms are comfortable and very clean - the bar is spacious with plenty of "sitting" options and the restaurant is large - with a smaller option off to the side. The dinner options at night were amazing and the breakfast was enjoyable. The reception staff were very helpful with any queries about the city etc we required. Overall we will definately be going back to stay here again.

Stayed here for the first time for one night on business and would definitely stay again. Large spacious room for a Quality Hotel and very comfortable bed. Great service warm cosy and clean. Make sure when you book ask for size of room the first room was so small and had a musty smell it wasn't 4 stars but 3. I asked for another room and it was an apartment, for the extra cash it was well worth it. This was at least four times bigger including a separate toilet, spa bath with separate shower it was absolutely fabulous. Cleaning seems to take all day so if you want your room serviced by a particular time ensure you make it clear and give them a time... Read more

Hotel is close to the Victoria Street Clock Tower. There are a few restaurants and fast food chain within 3-4km. We always ask for quiet rooms when travelling so we can have good rests and be well prepared for the road the following day. We had a room facing the side street, which I believe normally quiet. However, this hotel does cater for tourist groups and during our stay, there were multiple buses that were parked at the back and also on the side street. The buses were a bit noisy. O... Read more

This is a nicely laid out hotel. But it has only one lift to the fourth floor which leads to substantial log jams when coach parties arrive and are all put on the fourth floor. There are noise issues involving the hotel's water systems. Whilst the air conditioning is modern and quiet, the heating system for the water supply (turning off and on during regular periods) makes sleep difficult in some rooms.
