Upon arrival, it took 10 minutes to check in and we were told one of the rooms was unavailable as it hadnt been cleaned...okay i can understand that, it happens. We arrived in our rooms to find one of them had a king bed instead of the twins we had organised and the toilet hadnt been cleaned and remnants were left..yuck.. we rang reception and no one answered..went down to reception and okay they apologized and offered us an upgrade...we went out and were told they would transfer all our belongi... The hotel we have stayed during the Easter time is of great locations. We have stayed first for one night and then for another three nights in a row. There would be at times very poor reception handling and direct us to a very lousy room which we required a room change. For 4 nights stay, there are limited offers to us for wifi access or breakfast. The service attitude could much improve to impress visitors.

We arrived at Stamford Plaza, backpacks in hand and dressed far too casually. But the staff were welcoming, and we were quickly checked in. We caught the lift up to room 730, opened the door - and there, waiting for us, was a bottle of champagne, cheese and crackers from my Mum, ready for our anniversary! The Plaza staff had been kind and smart enough to let some random woman holding gifts (with the same last name as my booking) up to our room to set up this surprise for us. They could have been... Extremely underwhelming visit made worse by a general lack of staff or staff that were actually working. Check in was more credit card and here's your room key (no offer of luggage service or any details on the hotel). During our stay we rang for additional towels (there was only two in the room which is fine) however they never appears after house keeping responded after 3 calls and indicated they would be coming (maybe the arrived after we departed). The Wi-Fi is horrendous (speed and cost... Read more

I went with a group of 18 for high tea. The food was delicious and plentiful. For $44 you get all the tea you can drink, more food than you can eat and a glass of bubbles. There was a pianist playing lovely music in the background. I will definitely be back.

The staff were helpful, room service was quick and although the room was at the top end of the price range it was worth every cent. The bathroom and facilities in my room were great and it was super close to the CBD which allowed me to walk everywhere and explore Auckland. Thank you Stamford Plaza for my pleasant experience!

Stayed at the Stamford for two nights on a recent business trip to Auckland. The hotel was nicely presented, however, a closer inspection shows that the place is dating and requires some money to be spent on it. The front staff, although polite, seemed as if checking in/out was an inconvinence to them. The room was adequately cleaned, although there was a pen on the floor, which highlights a lack of attention to detail. WiFi in the room was extremely poor, especially for a hotel servicing the... Decent size room, great bathroom with separate toilet. The bath is spacious and the shower had good pressure. The reception area look a bit tired but the room looked modern and refurbished. We stayed on the 9th floor and had a great view of the sun setting over the harbour bridge. We thought the bed was comfy. Good pillows and a nice duvet. The spa area is lovely. Nice swimming pool, sauna and spa pool with heated towels. We brought some cheese and crackers and there was no plate, knife and na... Read more

It was the first time I stayed in this hotel but I enjoyed it. The parking price was a little high but as it is valet parking that is ok when you stay a couple of days. The cheapest car parking is a block away so not worth to walk. The position is perfect and central and just next to the viaduct. The staff were very nice and helpful .

My sister and I stayed for 4 nights here. The room is small, with comfortable pillows and beds. We left the "no makeup room" card on the pillow the first morning so the staff don't need to make the beds, change the towels..etc. was surprised to find our garbage bins still full when we came back at night. It's fine not to change sheets and towels for a few days, but I can't stay in a room with garbage from previous day, so no more "green" practice for me anymore. I think the housekeeping standard... Having made multiple trips to Auckland over the past month I can honestly say this is the best of the hotels I stayed at (which included The Mecure, Langham and Citylife). The location is perfect, close to offices at the waterfront end of Queen St and the harbour. The rooms are modem and large with excellent large bathrooms (shower and bath). Amenities are great in the room. The gym is large and modern with loads of equipment, Indoor pool also looks very good. My only gripe is the breakfast a... Read more

Really nice hotel in central location, rooms first rate, staff first rate - everything you really want. Ground floor bar and restaurant was first class and will try the Kabuki Teppanyaki Restaurant next visit. Just try to get a high floor to avoid traffic noise.

I was here on business, and my company set me up in he Stamford. I am glad that they did. The room was nice, the bed comfortable, and spacious. The breakfast buffet was nice, and the staff very accommodating. The gym and pool were modern and well equipped. Right across the street was a place called food alley that I loved, I ate there virtually every night. The hotel is centrally located and was able to get to work, and to the ferry with ease. I would definitely stay here again

Asking if I could return to my room to freshen up and they call me as the food a arrived they agreed and executed perfectly. Unfortunately we had pre-paid otherwise would have changed hotels. The rooms we had were ok but there were road works on the street below which started at 6 a.m. (Not the hotel's fault I know but they could have reduced the room price to compensate for this). We had a pleasant stay at this hotel over 3 days. Staff were friendly and efficient and the foyer and restaurants in the hotel were attractive. Our room was spacious , pillows comfortable but the bed seemed a bit old and in need of replacement as it seemed to sag. The one thing we found most annoying was to have pay $25 a night for wifi. I stayed here for the first time in June. The property is well located within walking distance of the Auckland waterfront (although there is a lot of roadwork going on in the area). The room was comfortable and clean. I've been staying here for years, since it was the Regent. While location s still excellent, the place is starting to get a bit tired - for a top level hotel.. They forgot to clean my room one day. Internet didn't work until a man came to my room to look at it and one day was hopelessly slow. When I asked the concierge if they had a spare charger for my computer they thought the request was extraordinary. Beds and bedding are still good. Maybe I'm nit-picking
