First hotel in New Zealand coming in from 4 months of Asia travel. The decor or look of the hotel is "runned down". I think it's the building appearance. But upon checking in, the gentleman was very nice and friendly. Once in the room, we found it spacious, but the furniture looked slightly from the 80's-90's. The bed was comfy and the shower was tight but water was nicely hot. The tv worked. And their wifi was on a limited time basis. I guess we got spoiled in Asia where wifi is also fr... Read more

Room is clean and decent. But i lived in the second floor so it is inconvenient for me to carry my luggage upstairs. Fortunately, the owner helped me to carry luggage upstairs. They allocate a parking space which is steep and rocky. There are a lot of area for parking within the motel but they just let us to park our car at a steep and rocky area

I have stay at this motel several times now and it meets all my requirements. Ample parking and Wifi. I need to be in Auckland a lot for work and prefer to stay in a Motel rather than with friends because I can suit my self what I do and when I do it. As I travel a lot I am well equip for most things - this great little Motel makes a trip to Auckland for work affordable and enjoyable. I don't require any 'services' but they are always very helpful and will carry your luggage for you if required.

The room is big (for a couple with one child), the bed is comfortable and everything was very clean. There are basic cooking appliances (fridge, microwave, mugs, glasses and plates), a private parking and also some stores/restaurants nearby. The problem is noise, lots of noise. Every step inside or outside of your room makes a huge squeak (I was in a 2nd floor room), besides the walls are very thin (you can listen all the conversations). If you are an easy sleeper, it is ok for 1 or 2 nights, bu... Read more

Given the price, we weren‚??t expecting the Hilton, but I was also not expecting to feel like I WANTED to get a tetanus shot! We chose this motel based on location, we needed to be in that area and the price was cheaper than other accommodation nearby, but there is no way this was worth even half of what we paid! We are aware that promotional hotel photos tend to be enhanced, but this is on a completely different level of ‚??misleading photos‚??. The room had not been vacuum cleaned properly ... Read more

Not a clean room by anyones standards. Mould in the shower. Room not vacuumed during the week I had to endure it. Rubbish piled up next to the already full skip bin to attract rodents and cockroaches which were present in colleagues room. $10 per gig of data and $10 per breakfast which consisted of a $3 packet of cornflakes bread and fruit. Very noisy (traffic and any guests moving around). Manager was polite and helpful which is the only thing there that was pleasant. Little or no maintenance o... Read more

Stayed just one night when I couldn't find vacancies in the usual places and don't think I could have taken another. It's not very clean. I suspect "cleaning" is more or less limited to making the bed judging by the chewed fingernail cast offs. It's very noisy from other guests. I stayed in winter and it was very cold. With just a small duvet, I slept in my running shirt and jacket. There is a heat pump but it seems to be limited somehow (or broken?). You get a (heavily stained - put a towel ove... Read more

I chose this motel as it was best situated for the persons I wished to visit - on arrival I found a circa 1960's cheaply built poorly maintained establishment - once in the unit found it poorly equipped - no toaster [ they did give me one when I asked] - an old cathode ray TV but a full range of TV channels - the unit was clean & the bed OK - only 2 dinner plates - 1 coffee cup & teaspoon - I wouldn't recommend this motel - looks like it is due to be demolished & the operators are just making wh... The things that mattered in a motel were great. The bed was comfortable. The unit was clean and the shower worked well. Our room was also quiet, although I worried in case there was anyone below us as the floor squeaked something terrible. I would definitely stay here again. The price was right.

We stayed in the Sai Motel for one night at the end of our NZ roadtrip. The motel is located in Greenlane near to the Cornwall Park and the One Tree Hill. It takes around 15 minutes to the airport. The staff is friendly and the checkin was straightforwardly. The room was equipped with an AC, Flat Tv, ref and everything you need to feel comfortable. The motel offers a free parking space.

We spent one night in this motel on our last day in New Zealand before we headed to Australia the following day. For this short stay, it was sufficient. The room was clean and the service was good. The price is very cheap compared to other accomodations in Auckland. If you want to buy groceries or get something to eat, there are some possibilities nearby.

Stayed here for a week for work. The room was a bit old and outdated but was very comfortable although it is very noisy when walking around on the floor, you can hear everyone walking around in other rooms. The staff are VERY friendly and only too happy to help out with any queries, the room was cleaned daily and it also had free wifi. If you need somewhere comfortable to stay on a budget then try SAI motel.

We had the misfortune of staying here for a night. Booked three rooms. Booked family room with two queen beds. Got a queen and a single. Carpet stunk of vomit. Had a over powering smell of cleaning product to cover vomit smell and wet carpet. One blanket on each bed. When each room asked for extra towels, we were told we had to learn to share. Toilet floor was covered in water, and you had to flush twice. Would never stay here again. Worst experience ever.

I stayed for a one night and found the motel very affordable and for the price, it came with extremely good facilities like heat pump, sky channels, free tea/coffee in the room and handy to business area around. The cleanliness was far above than many budget motels within similar price range. I would definitely recommend Sai for a quick stop over.

My husband, daughter & i stayed there for 2 nights. We found our family unit very tidy & spacious. Due to my husband having a disability they gave us a carpark right outside the room & then put a orange cone in parking space when we went out to reserve it. Staff were really friendly & would bend over backwards to help us. Will definitely be staying there again when we back in Auckland.

The unit was very tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful. The motel is in a good location, close to supermarkets, shops and fast food outlets, and around 20 minutes away from the central city (off peak hours). The staff made me feel very welcome and I would definitely recommend Sai Motel.

This was a surprisingly nice hotel. The staff were really friendly and went out their way to make us feel comfortable. The rooms have all the required facilities. Shower was nice and hot. the room is dated, but that was not a bother to me as it was a good nights sleep. parking can be a problem if the hotel is full up. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

Stayed last year with my family. Close to alot of the shops. Decor was a bit old, and felt a little bit claustrophobic with not being able to open the window, but I guess that's what you pay for the price. The steps were a bit narrow with getting luggage up and down the tight steps. Friendly staff, only stayed for the location and price. The parking is a bit tight and limited. Was OK.

Sai Motels is well situated on the Great South Road so within easy drive or public transport ride to the city centre and major places of interest. The staff were very friendly and the booking process fine although we did not receive confirmation of booking and had to phone them after booking to confirm they had received our booking. We booked for three nights and had to pay upfront otherwise we would have left after one night as there are no refunds. Beyond the staff there was little positive... Read more

I have worked in the visitor industry in NZ for nearly 25 years and have seen thousands of motel rooms. This was the worst motel ever!! First they stuffed up the Wotif booking and didn't have my room. Then, the room stunk - literally, it was very dirty, mouldy on the walls, ceiling, curtains and shower curtain. Disgusting!! This motel is a health risk. The bed wasn't even level. The place was poorly maintained. This is simply not good enough for the New Zealand visitor industry. Do not stay at ... Read more
