We stayed two nights. I'm an HHhonors member and they provided me with an upgrade on arrival at no additional charge. Our room overlooked the harbour and gave us beautiful morning sun. The staff were excellent and the overall look and feel of the hotel is relaxed and stylish. Close to the central shopping area, it's also handy for the ferry terminal. Excellent experience.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. However, I arrived late and taxi driver struggled to find the hotel as he didn't know you had to go beyond the security gate. Internet didn't work when I got to the room so had to call the front desk. And then breakfast from my first morning was incorrectly charged to my bill even though I'm a Diamond member and it's free...

From the moment I waked in a received a very warm welcome to when I left, this hotel impressed. On checking in, the Assistant Manager couldn't do enough to make sure my stay was comfortable, making sure I was in a quiet room (can't stand noisy rooms) away from the lifts, and overlooking the pool. The room was large, by modern standards, and the bed and pillows were perfect. The little balcony overlooking the pool meant I was able to step outside, when it wasn't teeming with rain, to catch glimp... Read more

We stayed at the Hilton Auckland for a week in July 2016. The hotel is excellently located at the end of a pier in Auckland Harbor and the central business district. Lots of nearby restaurants in the area called ‚??viaduct basin‚?? which is next to the hotel. Particularly enjoyed the burgers at BurgerFuel which is a few blocks into the central business district. The hotel is next to the pier where ferries leave to go to the islands in Auckland harbor. As Hilton Diamonds, we got free breakfa... Read more

Booking this hotel on your next trip will be a most pleasant experience. Staff are wonderful: well-trained, competent and consistently pleasant. Restaurant staff simply could not be more attentive and prompt. Bell staff are almost as knowledgable as the Concierge. Front desk staff are most pleasant and good ambassadors for the hotel. The stay was part of our stop over in Auckland, after Taupo and Rotorua. And it was my fiancé' birthday. Hotel room - superb! And it comes with balcony. We didn't get the best of the views though, so maybe next time. By the way, we saw a rainbow at the Harbour in the morning, and then it started raining again. Nice birthday amenities, nice presentation, but the cake wasn't that tasty. If you drive, you have no choice but to have the valet charge of 45.00 bucks and that's cheaper than W... Read more

Fabulous stay, lovely room with protected balcony sheltered from the winter wind. The Hilton gave us a great package deal including valet parking, harbour view room and breakfast. Would so love to stay there again - had a ball with friends who also stayed next door to us. The breakfast was the only disappointing feature; the scrambled eggs were overcooked and rubbery, hot food was very spartan. Also paying $5 extra to have a long black was rather harsh as the filtered coffee was not good. Ho... Read more

We have stayed in the Auckland Hilton several times and have always had a superb room facing the harbour. The rooms a typically high class modern Hilton, but the harbour views (except when a cruise ship docks outside your balcony) are 2nd to none in the world. We rate it higher than Sydney! The restaurant is excellent both for breakfast and dinner and the new reception and bar layout a vast improvement over the old one.

We had a fabulous winter stay at the Hilton recently. The refurbished Lobby is light and airy but the staff are as caring and helpful as ever, especially the friendly Concierge personnel who are ever ready to tote luggage and/or proffer good advice as to the latest sights and shopping opportunities in downtown Auckland. The corner room with a balcony and stunning sea views was especially welcome after our long journey out to New Zealand from Asia.

Great location and fabulous service. The buffet breakfast, included in the room rate, was nice but no better than any other hotel buffet breakfast. Generally you get what you would expect from this standard of hotel with personal touches from the doormen and restaurant staff when you have been here a few days. However, disappointing that colleagues were offered a deal on breakfast and I wasn't. The Internet is misleading as it claims the standard price is only for an hour when it should be a day. Rooms are average size for a Hilton, bed is quite soft but still comfortable, bathroom is spacious with shower seperate to bath, and everything is very clean. All the staff throughout the hotel were so friendly and helpful. They don't have a club level but offer diamond members a free drink in the bar nightly. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. 15 min walking distance to t... Read more

By far the best service I have had at a hotel in the past few years. The staff training must be exceptional as they all make an effort to interact with the guests which is rare from my experiences. The location at the end of the wharf in Auckland Harbour is also amazing. If you can get a Harbour view room as the views are well worth the extra money. The area around the Hilton is filled with restaurants, bars and quirky nightspots. The only set back for the location is the uphill walk to get into... Read more

I stayed at the Hilton for a conference last week and it offered a reasonably good conference venue but my room was a bit under par - attention to details missing. The room hadn't been vacuumed properly as there were biccy crumbs all over the floor in one corner, a couple of items missing from the tea/coffee supplies and room service assured me brekky would take 20 mins but took 35 which threw out my whole morning. But the real inconvenience was the bathroom - no vanity despite the bathroom be... Read more

The Hilton overlooks the spectacular Auckland Harbour near the CBD. It has been recently redecorated in a nautical style in keeping with its environment. Gazing out on a sunny Sunday morning at a sumptuous breakfast you can see the America Cup yachts on the harbour which are available for a sail. The ferries sail past to the main wharf operating regular services to the many interesting islands on Auckland Harbour. The reception area has ropes like a sailing ship. The dining area has a large mura... Read more

We returned to NZ and stayed in the Hilton again for the first 3 nights. Once again, we had an excellent and very comfortable stay. We loved the renovations to the lobby and to the rooms, and this time we had unlimited wifi in the room. The staff were just as friendly as on our previous visit, and it set us up nicely for our 4 weeks in NZ.

They inherit a good location with good views from the room, but nothing that sets them apart as a 5-star hotel. Never had any water bottles kept in the room after the house keeping, always had to remind them to get a few bottles of water when I was back at the hotel. The food spread at the Fish restaurant was so limited and certainly doesn't appeal to travellers coming from different countries.

Wonderful hotel. Best view in Auckland for breakfast, with great service in the Hilton tradition. Rooms are notable for the number of power outlets, you are never without a connection, certainly handy for all the gizmos we carry around these days. Fun swimming pool, quite glamorous. We stayed here for two nights as a treat, but you would stay here for months or maybe forever if you could afford it.

The setting for this hotel is probably one of the best in Auckland. However, it's a challenge to find the car park if you are not local. GPS doesn't help one bit and it's impossible to just go around the block. It's a Hilton - so a bit shabby around the edges especially in the bathroom where fixtures don't quite fit and the grouting is a bit grubby. That said, a comfortable bed and perfectly comfortable. Nice, friendly service.

The location of this waterfront hotel on a pier provides great views of the harbor. Some of the other waterfront hotels are on the marina. We enjoyed watching the sailboats that are out daily from the patio in our room. There are "rum races" almost daily in the late afternoon and the sails are spectacular. We stayed here for the first night of our honeymoon. It was incredible. We had an oceanview room on the second floor with amazing views of the harbor and islands. Loved the cushy extras like the thick terry cloth robes and slippers. If you get the breakfast delivered in room, its very large and can be split between two people. We had a huge sense of anticipation as the Hilton chain had been our hotels of choice on numerous visits to Melbourne and Sydney. We were disappointed as, from arrival to departure, it seemed that most staff had more important things to attend to, apart from the person who delivered our luggage to our room. The very expensive parking and overall experience was partially compensated by the location and the exquisite sea views.
