This hotel is strategically located in city centre. 10 min walk to the pier and 15 mins walk to the Sky Tower. Food and shopping area surrounding the hotel. There's a small supermarket there which opens at 7am which cater to all your groceries needs. Overall, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Take the high floor to avoid sound polution if you're getting into bed before 10pm. The bath room has a heater for the towels. Thumbs up for that. I was very disappointed that City Life Hotel failed to inform us that the room we were getting through the Romance Package deal was run down. When we first entered the room on our arrival it smelt of smoke it was definitely not worth the money we spent on that deal. The room had a conjoint door to another room which was off putting because we could hear the other people in the next room and we felt there was no privacy at all especially when we booked the ROMANCE PACKAGE for a reason. Citylife is a nice enough hotel, in a great location with friendly staff. We stayed at this hotel over the weekend and really enjoyed the close proximity to everything you are wanting to see or do. The downside of the location was the noise from the nightlife which can be heard particularly in the lower floors of the hotel and also the $40 hotel parking. While the lobby is nice, the hotel rooms and facilities are a bit dated. Lastly, staff were really friendly and helpful and made it an overall ... Read more

I spent most of times in hotels sleeping so beds are very important. The bed in this hotel, which was chosen with the help of a chiropractor, is one of the best I have slept inn and The rooms are very good. Two large TV and very good kitchen with real equipment and washing machine. Very good location in the centre. The fire alarm started one day, but I was going to wait until it would be turned, because I am used to false alarms. It was very good that Ellie the housekeeper knocked at my door and... Read more

Walk down and there you are, right in the middle of Auckland City. There's a chinese restaurant and small mini market next to the hotel if you are lazy to walk far when you arrive. Otherwise, room service is available. The valet parking cost 40 dollars and its located at the back of the hotel, so on your GPS, use durnham lane instead of Queen Street. The room is small but cosy, I like the toiletries though. I can't remember the brand. Free wifi. The service and friendliness of the receptionis... Read more

I first stayed here for a couple of nights during the 2011 Rugby World Cup, and now it's my go-to accommodation in Auckland when I return to see the All Blacks at Eden Park. The staff are friendly, the rooms clean and quiet, and the location is an easy walk to the Brittomart public transport hub, the Viaduct and Wynyard Quarter and the sky tower. Stayed in a clean modern spacious room with separate bedroom and large table, couch TV area and kitchenette. No issues in room at all. Food in restaurant is quality and dinner I had there was as good as anywhere you can get. Staff very helpful. For a small hotel is is a little hidden gem on the main Queen St drag. Only issue my bedroom window was just above a pub in back lane and the smokers conversation was interesting late at night. Get a higher floor is my advice..

WiFi was free but meals were way overpriced (reason why I didn't give it a 5 rating), it was easier and more cost efficient to eat out. The staff was very friendly & assisted in every way possible. We loved the great bedding. The staff were fantastic on arrival despite dealing with a small area for cars and pick-ups. Our luggage was whisked away to a room immediately. Somehow I managed to lose a special gold broach - not sure if it was in the hotel or not, but if it has been handed in to the front desk I would love to have it returned. It is a gold twisty one, with a single pearl, and a simple classic design.

I had a very spacious 2 room apartment. Very light very clean. The shower over the bath isn't ideal but adequate. My third stay here and I find the staff are exceptionally helpful. The bar is OK but closed at 11.00 - a little early if you've arrived in from Australia and your body is saying it's only 9.00pm.

While touring Auckland, stayed at citylife. A perfectly acceptable hotel. Breakfast was adequate, the coffee good. I heard that the restaurant was good but didn't get a chance to sample. I was in and out for two nights. I liked the location, my room, a little small, was clean and what I would call cute. It was quiet even though I was opposite the elevators. I had a little balcony which is good for some fresh air. The help was friendly and accessible. I would stay here again. Thank you kiwis..... Read more

We stayed in Auckland on a recently family holiday and spent a week at City Life. We had a 3 bedroom apartment (travelling with kids) and the accommodation was fantastic. Plenty of space and very comfortable with a full kitchen that enabled us to cater for ourselves when we wanted. The staff were absolutely fantastic. So friendly and nothing was ever to much trouble. The attention to detail was terrific. Highly recommended!

We arrived at the hotel at 6:00 am after a 14 hour flight only to realize that our extra night booked for the hotel was for the following night. The hotel did not have any spare rooms since it was the weekend, but they did offer us the use of the gym for a shower and provided toiletries, towels, etc. Beds were softer than I would like, but the room was very quiet considering it was close to the elevators (21st floor).

We chose this place for the location and as it is in Queen Street, it is very good for access to the harbour and downtown facilities. The Lobby looks quite upmarket and vehicle access is through a back road. The check in staff were very friendly and helpful. We could not check in right away as our rooms were not yet ready, but the staff made sure to sort that out while we headed off to work. The room was comfortable and had an in room safe plus complimentary bathrobes, which was a nice touch. ... Read more

CityLife was our last stop before heading home. We stayed 2 nights. The location is so central and you can virtually walk to all the place; we enjoyed walking to Auckland Art Gallery, ferry terminal and all the eateries just few blocks away. One thing we especially liked was that there were many Asian restaurants and few that we had were very good! The hotel was kinda hard to find; the main entrance is tucked away in the back street. We stayed at CityLife for 3 nights, coming in from San Francisco. The location was perfect. Easy walk to attractions, harbor, restaurants, and hop-on/hop-off bus. We arrived quite early and the staff stored our luggage and then took it to the room when such was available. The views from the room were great. The room was clean, large living area, dining area, kitchen, laundry and separate bedroom with another TV. Would definitely recommend.

This place was great, and a nice way to end our holiday in NZ. What incredibly impressed me was when I sent an email asking for advice on how I could get to their hotel with an 8 year old child plus luggage after dropping off our rental car, they didn't email me back...they called me and said that they'd called the rental place and all sorted it for me, all I had to do was being the car to their hotel and they'd sort it for me. Impressive!

CityLife is in the heart of Auckland city, just off Queen St so is really convenient to shops, restaurants and Viaduct events centre which was our destination. The service was exceptional at the hotel - they went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable rather than luxurious. We were on level 3 so there was quite a bit of city noise but that's to be expected in CBD. We enjoyed taking a rickshaw home after a great night out.

Fabulous location with wonderful city views. Great staff and service. Breakfast buffet was good. 1-bedroom suite (may be considered an apartment) was a surprise as it included a fully fit kitchen plus a washer and dryer. Although the beds and pillows were touted for best sleep, they were too soft for us as we personally prefer them firm. Some concern that dark spots in grout around tub could be areas for mold build-up.

The room was great; huge dining/Lounge and separate large bedroom, monstrous comfortable bed, the only let down we were 2 floors above a quite noisy bar, and I don't think the room had double glazing, or if it did, it didn't work so well. it was not so bad as I think they closed at about midnight.
