We stayed 6 -13 may 2016. Had an ocean view room (yes its worth the extra). the room is beautifully appointed and obviously recenly renovated. large bed, open bathroom area that can be dividied off with a frosted glas sliding door. You can stand in the shower and actually look at the ocean, a lovely aspect. Rooms had Air Conditioning. Rooms were cleaned well every day, and they also come and turn you bed down, change towles and leave chocolates in the evening. The resort itself is great, g... Read more

We stayed in Le Meridien Noumea for 6 days in May. We found the hotel excellent. The amenities and grounds are superb. The staff always courteous and attentive to our needs. The location of the hotel is the best in Noumea. Right on the beach with no roads to cross. No road noise and well sheltered from the winds. The buffet breakfast is outstanding and we enjoyed our complimentary coffees each night in the bar area. We made good use of the free kayaks and paddle boards too. The pool area is... Read more

We spent a week at Le Meridian and loved it. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and very patient with our inability to speak French. We didn't eat at the motel as we found the food expensive when converted back to NZ dollars. To combat this we purchased a toaster and supplies from the local supermarket on our first day and had meals in our room or at the local burger bar which offered great food at reasonable prices. Having a pool complex, bar and beach all within meters of each ... Read more

We had a lovely stay in April. Nice rooms, staff were all very friendly, especially Christopher, he was a great help to us for helping us with where to go and what to do.The resort has a lovely beach and pool area. Close to the shops. Just the ideal location. Wish we stayed longer, but hoping to go again next year. There is so much to see and do in Noumea.

Right on a beautiful beach, a 5 minute walk to a bunch of shops and restaurants. The room was great, a good view of the beach and the pool area. Free WIFI, a little bit slow at times. The pool was not bad, very large clean etc... with a bar close by. The beach restaurant, I had the BBQ, (super expensive, but bloody good) My friend had the Fish, and she didn't like it. We stayed for 6 nights and we're looking for something easy and relaxing. This hotel has certainly done that. Surprisingly friendly and helpful staff (in fact all of Noumea seems devoid of that famous French 'attitude') and wonderful service. Our room had been recently refurbished and was right up to 5 star standard with lovely pillows and bedding. We didn't eat at the main restaurant but did have lunch by the pool and we used the bar of course!! Great service in both, although typically price... Read more

To explain the situation in Noumea, for years they made plenty of money from the nickle mine and could not care less about tourism. Now things have changed and tourism is a must but they are struggling. You eat poorly produced 80s french food and they believe they are the masters of cuisine. Now this hotel, out of what is classed the three best in town, Chateau Royal, Hilton and here, this is by far the best. The staff or 90% of them speak English and they actually care about you. My wife and I booked a week at Le Meridien but due to ill health we decided to cut short our stay by 2 days and return home. Because of this I can say that a huge plus for Le Meridien are the concierge staff who helped us immensely, especially Anne Laure. In a moment of frustration, French President Charles de Gaulle once said: "How can someone govern a country that has 375 kinds of cheese?" I remembered that quote when my stay at the Hotel Meridien coincided with the Festival of Cheese organized by their food and beverage section in cooperation with the expertise of Master Cheesemaker Olivier Poulard. I met him and had the opportunity to discuss the varieties of those "salty white cakes." The French people describe that staple with the say... Read more

Well, I have read other peoples' reviews saying how wonderful the hotel was, but this is not going to be one of them. Personally I thought the hotel was too far away from the main strip of Anse Vata and hence involved a fair amount of walking, which may be okay in the day time, but a bit dubious at night. In order to get anywhere you would have to get a taxi or walk. Although the rooms were a good size, we had a few things go wrong in our room and I thought the fridge was ridiculously small a... There are few if any faults with Le Meridien, the service is near perfect, the room are perfect, and the pool and beach with the bar so close are great. I can not fault the staff, for the bar staff to room staff, to pool staff all were great. We had a great holiday.

Great place the only reason this is not 5 out of 5 is the concierge. On 5 occasions they gave us false information, forgot to book a taxi or made a mistake with a reservation...... So be warned triple check everything. However this would not stop us coming back. Great holiday.

Very pleasant stay, came to Le Meridien from a more remote location so thrilled to find room was modern, clean and spacious. We had an ocean view room with a great little balcony for morning coffee. Bed was super comfortable, bedding was fresh and crisp. Concierge was very helpful and spoke great English, which was great after some frustrating experiences elsewhere. We had several lunches at Le Fare, the beach-front restaurant; dinner one night at Shogun, breakfast buffet several mornings. Wish ... Read more

We stayed here for 4 nights and the service was so bad which make me wondering how can it be 5 star. Water leak badly on the floor when taking shower. One day we went to the beach and came back at 3pm and the room wasnt cleaned. We called up and asked for the room to be cleaned and have some new towels. They said someone would come in 5mins, 30mins later still no sign of cleaner we called up again and they said cleaner is on the way. 20mins later still no sign of anyone and we were cold n wet. ... I am travelling with my husband and 2 children(7 & 4 yrs). We like our luxury and choose Le Meridien as we are SPG gold and like to maintain loyalty with the brand. First of all, the resort is lovely and by far the nicest place to stay in Noumea. With kids - make sure you get the SPG kids pass, well worth it. It takes a few days to get used to island time and very relaxed nature of doing things here. We had a few hiccups when we first arrived, they couldn't locate our gold level, confusion aroun... A friend and I came to stay at Le Meridien Noumea after redeeming a Groupon voucher for a girls trip away. Leading up to our holiday we had pretty big expectations, as this is a 5 star resort and the reviews we read online were generally quite positive. I'm pleased to advise that Le Meridien Nouméa not only met those expectations, but surpassed them in my books. The service was great (everyone we dealt with was lovely), the rooms and facilities clean and the setting incredible! The evening we ... Read more

The hotel and staff were beautiful. We had an ocean view room which was wonderful. The Bathroom had a large sliding door, which meant you could have a bath or shower and look at the view! The staff were very friendly, spoke English really well and very helpful. Food was very good. Our package included full buffet breakfast - and you will not be left hungry. The restaurants were very good, but as with all things in Noumea - 5 star prices. A club sandwich and fries for lunch was 2100 xpf. ... Read more

Lovely Hotel.....food is BAD and overpriced. Rooms are dirty!!!!! There was hair on the toilet and bathroom floor and a dirty nappy under the chair on the balcony!!!! I would choose the hotel next door. I tried to get them to come and clean the room. I watched them do it....no wonder it's dirty!! There are better options in Noumea.

This five star resort is definitely claiming one of the best spots for visitors to Noumea. It's out of the city centre and sits on the end of the picturesque Anse Vata beach, with direct access to the ocean and beach front. Apart from the fantastic location, here's a summary of my visit for future guests: - the pool is absolutely freezing and therefore no one was swimming (but why would you when the crystal clear ocean is at your doorstep?!?) - the menu wasn't that varied for me with the Fare... Arrived at the hotel late Thurs but in time for dinner. Several options available from gastronomy to buffet. Chose the buffet at Le Sextant as we could try the variety of food & glad we did. The seafood buffet is only held from Thurs to Saturday and that suited us well as we were off to the Isle of Pines next day. Had beautiful seafood, fresh sashimi tuna (absolutely delicious) & home smoked salmon. Oysters were light unlike the creamier ones in Oz but prawns & mussels were fresh & firm. Snails... Read more

My husband and I visited the Le Meridien in September 16 for a conference that he was attending. We thoroughly enjoyed or stay. This resort has everything you need. Buffet breakfast with all the trimmings, gym, spa, bar, restaurants and a large pool right by the beach... you can hire bikes for free too. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would come back again.

We had a beautiful 6 day stay here. The hotel rooms are great, we were upgraded to a suite too. The facilities are great. The service lacks, room service is very slow and the staff do not understand English, poor considering 70% of guests are Australian. After a few complaints the manager invited us for a coffee and took a few charges off of our bill. The food options are monotonous and are the same in the restaurants and room service but the quality and preparation differ drastically. The spa ... Read more

My wife & I spent nine very enjoyable days here in September. For us, everything about Le Meridien was perfect - the very attractive gardens and pool, the cheerful and obliging staff, the view from our room, the location and easy access to the public bus service. Our ocean view room was most impressive. Free WiFi too. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. We also greatly enjoyed having some of our midday meals at the Fare restaurant right next to the beach - felt like South Pacific heaven! We hi... Read more

Big Positives first - lovely rooms, really comfy beds and pillows, good pool, great location - kids could swim off beach, paddle board and kayak. Restaurants are all less than 10 mins walk. The hotels restaurant by the beach was lovely with a great selection for lunch. Breakfast buffet also had a good selection. Things for improvement: We had two rooms for 2 adults 3 kids. We booked at the last minute and had asked for adjoining rooms set up with one as a double bed, one room as two singl... Read more

We visited the Meridien in October 2016, we arrived at 5pm and were excited to watch the sunset at the famous beach bar and grab a drink. We turned up and were told that the beach bar and restaurant close at 5.30 and we couldn't order anything. We did have the option to walk back to the main hotel bar, order drinks there and then shlep them down to the beach, a good 5 min walk. Very poor. The sunsets were beautiful though. I do not understand why this hotel was rated as a 4-star... I can see this as a 3.5-4- star hotel. PRO: - The concierge (Anne-Laure) was awesome in providing restaurant recommendations in Noumea (some are even her personal favorites). - Direct beach access -WIFI is working if you're in the lobby. Don't bother using it in your room... it doesn't work. CON: - Other than the professionalism of the concierge, this hotel clearly does not value customer service. An unoperational iron was in the ... Checking into this SPG hotel and the usual problem emerged, no recognition of SPG Platinum status! Upon request and discussions amongst management staff our rooms were changed and the suite we were given was superb, well appointed with a couple of exceptions. No corkscrew, cutlery or crockery. And when it was asked for, I could only use it to open a bottle and then it was removed by housekeeping. The service in the restaurants was poor, the food was not replenished. The room was spotless clean, very quiet, very comfortable bed and pillows. We had a garden view room with balcony that looked over the pool and beach. We have just returned from a 10 night holiday at the Meridien in Noumea . The hotel and layout of pool , landscaping and chic French inspired interior design were really outstanding. The marketing message is not matching the experience. If you are a guest in a resort and must compete on the weekends with walk-in guests for lunch tables then something is not right. F&B service is acceptable on weekends when lots of locals walk in and poor on all other days. On top of that are F&B mostly average and on inflated prices without justification. I decided quickly to have meals elsewhere. The place is a 1980's design disaster but all rooms have ocean views and the location is nice. ... Read more

A recently renovated hotel in a good area. It is arguably the best hotel in Noumea but it is not really "Special" by comparable international standards. Noumea is quite an expensive place and this hotel is not an exception to this general observation. The hotel does most things quite well however, the service at best would be regarded as slow. This appears to reflect the general way of life everywhere!!! We have had a lovely 3 days as a group of 6 and enjoyed our stay but as I have said, the hot... Read more
