Staff great (many spoke English for those of you with little French), Rachel at front desk excellent with our 4 year old. location excellent, 2 min to beach, shopping and multiple restaurants. one bed apartment very nice, wonderful to have full kitchen and washing machine. We had low ocean view, very nice. Pool on cool side (27 degrees). We had just stayed at Le lagon around the corner pool was 29 degrees (much better) and more kid friendly. We arrived in noumea and spent our first two nights at the Hilton. Very handy location close to beach, transport and a variety of interesting shops and restaurants. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment, very spacious and well appointed with views out to the water. Two balconies, one off the lounge room the other off the main bedroom. Good kitchen facilities, washing machine, everything we needed and the bed was REALLY comfy. Well done Hilton your staff were fabulous, a real asset to your organ... Read more

We don't normally stay at high end price luxury hotels, but we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We only had 5 nights so thought we would spoil ourselves. We had a 1 bed deluxe apartment on the 8th floor in building C, which was plenty big enough. We prob could have got a studio apartment. Location was great, plenty of food/cafes etc to choose from. Road noise was a bit annoying (only when doors were open) as well as night life noise, but hotel is situated on a busy stretch, so its ... Read more

Not the most modern of hotels, but perfectly acceptable with all amenities you need in the apartments, including kitchenette and washing machine. Most front desk staff very helpful and friendly, with reasonable English. As everywhere in New Caledonia, a few words of French always helps! Excellent location in the middle of L'Anse Vata.

Paid $100 (FPF 2,000 each) daily for the whole family to have breakfast buffet. Often ran out of freshly squeezed orange juice before 9.30am even though on the menu and buffet breakfast finishes at 10am. Cooked food in bain marie was cold. Fried eggs and pancakes sitting there cold! Had to wait 25-30 mins for our poached eggs on last day. Ended up putting them in a roll to eat on the run to our taxi. Poor value - should have saved our money and visited the local Boulangerie instead....

On a positive note, the Hilton is perfectly located on the beach at Anse Vata. The view we had from our bedroom on the 9th floor was breathtaking and there's lots of local shops, the taxi boat to Duck Island and many water sports on your doorstep. Having a room with a kitchenette was a godsend in Noumea where a simple lettuce at the supermarket is AUD$10. We made good use of the local supermarkets and convenience stores for many meals and while not well equiped, the kitchenette did provide th... Read more

We booked a 1 bedroom apartment and at first thought it was overkill as we didn't plan on being in the room much. As it turned out having the kitchen for breakfast was a great thing as restaurants can be quite exspensive in Noumea. The hotel is situated in a great spot as the beach is right across the road. There are vendors parked along the promenade renting out paddle boards etc for reasonable prices. Also there is a water taxi and a bit further down glass bottom boat....both can be taken ... Had the pleasure of staying here for 4 nights to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. From booking our accommodation until we had to force ourselves to leave we could do not fault the staff on their own level of the service. For most travellers to Noumea, especially for your first time you'll likely really appreciate and be quite comfortable in this hotel. However as a Diamond HH member, my review is likely to be a little more picky. New Caledonia is by no means a cheap destination - expect european city prices. The hotel has a very small unattractive swimming pool. Breakfast is probably the worst breakfast ever had at a Hilton location anywhere in the world. We opted to eat at the cafe's located around the hotel... Read more

What makes this hotel worth staying in compared to others in Anse Vata is its location. It's got a prime spot on the promenade making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops (if you want to spend a fortune) and the local beach and associated facilities. It's also got a great view of the bay and the local islands. But don't think you are coming to the kind of Hilton you might have stayed at before. It's more of an apartment hotel run by the Hilton. Great location and views for this hotel in Noumea - eating out anywhere in the Pacific can be expensive but the Hilton offers self catering kitchen apartments to help keep costs to a minimum.
