We booked a two night stay here - part business , part leisure . On the first night we arrived back 9 ish and were told the restaurant was closing in 20 minutes and if we sat down we would have to finish our meal before then ! The bar restaurant was offered as alternative but that was packed with people waiting to be served so we ordered room service ..... pleasant lady told me it would be '20 minutes'....but then...it NEVER arrived at all !! When I checked with reception lady there just shrug... Read more

Near Keukenhof. Good average priced pizzas available. Water in minibar is very expensive. Good pool, good play area for kids. Average breakfast. Slow reception. But I will go back there... the room was small and simple.

Bottom line..we really enjoyed our time there, the hotel offers lots of options for kids including indoor swimming pool, the restaurant provides both quality and variety, the staff always happy to serve and the hotel's location allows lots of attractions within a short drive.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn 2 nights 20th & 21st of May 2016. We arrived by car and found that the car park was excellent, plenty of room, there are 2 areas for parking, one ( the first one you see when you arrive ) appears to be for all visitors or guests ( we parked here ) later we found there was car parking all around the hotel for guests where you could park right outside your room. As we arrived late evening on the 21st we were quite tired but needed a night cap, we went to the ocean bar... Read more

This hotel is really nice The food was good and the accommodations great. However the location is awful and they do nothing to accommodate you. It's an expensive carbide to central where you have to go for anything bus train restaurant sights so it's possible to have to take a cab 4 times a day. They have shuttle service but only on the weekday early morning and late afternoons. I suggested they run the shuttle on weekend and at other times during the week but no response from them at all. Lovely modern, clean hotel. Excellent children's play area and access to a small pool area. Children's activities available during school holidays. Lovely decor with an almost bamboo rain forest indoor theme. Lovely beds and rooms, but quite basic. Chargeable mini bar available. Standard fresh food, however quite costly at times. Limited buffet selection at meal times, and isolated from other bustling towns and services. Quite tucked away from anything exciting outside the hotel, but I would... Read more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Leiden during our recent trip to Keukenhof. The rooms were big enough and comfortable for our family of four. The staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly. My children loved playing in the indoor pool after a long day out touring. This was the same night we decided to have dinner at the hotel. We ate at the bar and enjoyed the food. The hotel is a little out of the way if you want to only visit Amsterdam, but we found since we also visited Keukenhof it ... Read more

was in town for business, had one night at the hotel, rooms are big and nice but the walls are too thin, you can hear everything outside your room, also the room faced to the inner courtyard which was also very noisy, too many kids running around. this is more for families than an over night business stay. on the upside, hotel staff were nice, plenty of free parking and the city center is easily accessible

Triple Rooms are nicely sized with comfortable beds, desk, sufficient closet space and a pleasant bathroom with a interesting 2 wall mirror. The restaurant is very cozy (and must be especially nice to stay in the wintertime). Seating arrangements, art and decorations around the hotel looks very inviting and swimming pole is good and fairly large. Unfortunately, the soundproofing into the rooms are not the best.

Was here to attend a scientific conference. The location is about a 30 min walk from the Central Station or a short cab or bus ride. Upon check in, my request for an upgrade to an executive king room was denied, despite my Gold Ambassador status. Rooms are rather small, with a typical Holiday Inn decor. Bath has usual amenities for this type of hotel. Beds are fine. The breakfast buffet is exceptional. All in all, it was a value (rooms not expensive). However, because of it being unfrien... This hotel was spacious and modern. It had a large recreation area (atrium) geared to young families, an inviting restaurant open to an atrium and a pleasant bar. We chose the the hotel as a base for a three day visit to the Amsterdam area because we had IHG points to use and we were looking for a hotel that would accomodate three adults (my husband, adult son and I). The hotel is about 20 minutes from the Amsterdam airport by train. We arrived on a holiday (King's Day) so the hotel's free air... Read more

Attended a conference recently at the above hotel. Location: accessibility can be an issue. a 20-25min walk from Leiden Central Train station, or a 5-10 minute cab ride. Or you could take a bus from Leiden Central Train station which takes about 10mins (3 stops), but requires a short walk. There is a free hotel-shuttle from the hotel to the train station, but it only runs during certain hours of the day, and only on weekdays - which can be limiting. We stayed at this Holiday Inn for a business meeting. The room was noted as "Executive". Unfortunately it was somewhat small (but passable) and the carpet required serious cleaning or likely replacement. The shower was difficult to negotiate and the bath area not large enough for 2 people. There was supposed to be a shuttle from the Leiden Centraal train station, but when I phoned at 1:00 P.M. Check in was friendly and efficient and the room comfortable. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the restaurant but it certainly looked nice. This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here. We like the central location and the price is good. We are rewards members so we get benefits from staying here. Rotterdamn and the Haag are about 30 min south and Amsterdamn is 30 min north. You can take the train to either cities if you cant or dont want to drive. I do think that breakfast is a little over priced, 20 euro a person. We just go to the grocery store and buy groceries instead. Very family friendly.

I stayed overnight after a long trip from southern Africa. The beds are great, the room is spaceous and the location - if you don't mind being smack in the center of the city, is fine. Ample parking. There are bikes for rent to get into town, or take a walk (30 mins) or the bus which drops you off at the station (10 mins). Friendly staff, great looking restaurant though I did not eat there.

A super hotel at the outskirt of Amsterdam. No multi storied building. But very spacious building with enormous open space. The rooms are best. WIFI good strength. Lifts are good. Swimming pool good. The dining hall is like a stadium. Plenty of dishes for breakfast. Which one to take which one to leave. So many so many. Fruits, Juices, biscuits very delicious. What else further required? I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Leiden for two nights with my family of 6. We booked two adjoining rooms, 1 adult and 2 children in each room. The rooms are small, barely enough room for walking space between the two double beds and the desk. When you open the connecting doors you block the only closet in the room. Our rooms were inside and right near the ping pong table and children's play area. It was okay for us, but people unused to children may be annoyed by the constant noise. The food was ... Read more

We were pleasantly surprised. This hotel is excellent when travelling with younger children. There is plenty to do in the area, like visiting the beautiful beaches of Katwijk or Scheveningen. But when you get back to the hotel it's very nice that there are kids activities while the parents can relax. We went during high season and they had an extra room setup with a bouncy castle and PS4. The pool is nice to kill an hour in (with a nice sauna). Breakfast is very good.

Lovely clean friendly hotel. Breakfast 15 euros pp per day, but plenty to choose from, great start to the day. Lots is facilities, pool, gym, bar, plenty to do for the children. The restaurant was placed around a pond full of carp, which we felt was a nice touch. The rooms were clean and fresh. Beds were huge and comfortable, look out for the pillow menu. It's a bit out of town but there's a shuttle service to the station, although not in July or August. Overall we'd definitely stay again.

As Holiday Inns go, it is OK, but the location is somewhat inconvenient if you don't have a car. Even if you do, parking in Leiden is problematic and expensive. There are no restaurants within easy walking distance (except for a McDonalds about a 5 minute walk away), and while there is a bus stop that connects directly with the city's center (# 43) it does not run very often. There are other buses (#30 and #31) that also connect to the center, but they are near the McDonalds and not so conven... Read more

Had it not been for the rather good mattress, I don't think I would not have rated this as "fairly average". But first things first: the location is southwest of the city centre, near the University's business park, not far from a motorway. This creates an enormous indoor patio with a water fountain that is running all day and night long, and who... Read more
