There were several of us that traveled by coach, the food was really awful you had to have what you was dished up or no alternative, one lady one night had just a plate of rice as we were told there was nothing else she could have in the kitchen, and 10 minute later they serve something different up for another table what lies. Breakfast was not so good either no toaster for you to do toast. The service was on the bar and restaurant was dreadful to waited nearly 1 hour one evening, and to serve ... Read more

This hotel is situated just off an expansive beach with views out to sea or over the marina and North Sea Cannal where major ships enter and leave for the open sea. Our room was a suite and was excellent with a small balcony and large round pothole windows looking out to sea. We were traveling with our small dog and the staff were very accomodating and made us all feel very welcome. Great location, friendly staff and good rooms and views so highly recomended. We will be back very soon.

A one night stay in a reasonable hotel right on the harbour front. About a 25 minute drive from Schipol Airport. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. My room overlooked the harbour and was well presented, clean and comfortable. Dinner was average but palatable though the service rather slow on not a busy evening. Breakfast was adequate in all respects. I was not able to explore the local area much but there is direct access to a beach and there were various other bars and a few shops ty... Read more

I took my husband away for his birthday. We arrived Thursday and left Sunday. Staff lovely. Helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable. View's lovely. We had lovely weather which always help looking at the sea. Already planning to do it again next year.

Our stay was from 09th till 12th of May. I booked 3 Rooms. On the second day they started renovation of the balconies. The Hotel got 145 rooms. They worked only at our three rooms. The balconies been out of use for us. sometimes some workers entered the rooms or been working outside the balconies. The staff was not able to change the rooms! (for my opinion, the hotel was not sold out, perhaps they had to upgrade us, but they didn´t! In former times in the DDR not everything was availible at the... Read more

Although the rooms are nice and so is the surroundings of the hotel, I had a real issue regarding my stay at Holiday inn Seaport. The WiFi connection is to say at least the worst I've ever experienced in a hotel. As my stay in ijmuiden lasted for almost a month it was no joy not being able to get in contact with my family as I'm used to without having to use my private cell phone over seas. Neither could I use the nights with work hence having no connection to my company systems. One week in to... Read more

We stayed at the Seaport Beach Holiday Inn on our way home from Germany because it was near the DFDS ferry terminal and we wanted to visit Amsterdam for a day before going home. We got a room upgrade for free so we had a second floor suite with a balcony that had pleasant view overlooking the marina. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet and there was loads of space. The décor is a bit old fashioned and it??s probably due an upgrade sometime soon. Breakfast was just OK and not ne... I stayed there 2 nights on a works conference. The wifi was not good and I could not get access easily. The hairdryer in my room did not work and I was told I would have to go down to the sauna on the first floor as tha was the only other hairdryer available! It was not fixed the second day either as the said it would be. At breakfast there was no scrambled egg left, empty juice containers - not good. The lunch service was very slow and I didn't even get a starter as I don't eat meat (this w... Read more

Visited with 2 friends for a weekend. Location was ideal as we were going to an event on the beach. From the centre of Amsterdam you need to get a train and bus out here. Takes just over an hour but doesn't cost much. There is a few bars and shops near the hotel which are decent. Ferry terminal close aswell. The hotel itself is very nice, rooms were clean and comfortable, basic but all you need, the 2 rooms we had were to single beds but booked as doubles but didn't really bother us. If you want... Let me start the review by saying the bar and restaurant staff were amongst the most pleasant I have come across. That said I was entirely dissatisfied with this hotel over all I will NEVER set foot in the place again. We were returning from a European Holiday, and arrived at the ferry port a day early, we were aware this may happen, so researched hotel & prices on the Internet previously. However when we arrived we asked if the had a room free for the night; we were subjected to 20 questions; w... Read more

I usually schedule a couple of days to recover from jetlag and try to find a quiet place before heading off to work. This hotel was excellent for my needs. It is out of the city, walking distance to a beach, across from a marina, and in a quiet spot. Restaurant had an interesting and excellent menu. Breakfast was first rate. The staff is so accommodating and the hotel is very professionally managed. Beds were comfy. Very clean, and I saw workers cleaning the public spaces on a number of o... Read more

I stayed only one night on business so was not able to use all the faculties, natural and man made in and around the hotel. It was nice and quiet in Ju w but maybe it gets busy in July and August. The staff were friendly and the food was ok for such a chain but it was nicely cooked and presented. Free wifi was ok but not fast. Rooms and public spaces clean tidy and well decorated. I had a room with a sea/ marina view which was nice. Only public parking which is charged for.

Hotel very hidden quiet location close to the beach. Beautiful setting. The hotel staff were very friendly and room service was awesome. Dinner and breakfast was delicious. 28km from Amsterdam wonderful time??? Only bad thing I can say is the fruit bar during breakfast was full of fruit flies all over the dishes and salad???

Nice location, good food although there were bugs (fruit flies) over some portions of the fruit breakfast section, not a bad stay. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Parking is 8.00 per day even as a guest. Something I thought was rather out of the ordinary especially when you have beach goers sharing the parking lot

Decided to visit the North Sea and picked the Holiday Inn Ijmuiden Seaport Beach as a place to stay during an extended weekend. The hotel is on the edge of a nature preserve, which offers the chance for long walks with that special someone, and a few hundred meters from the North Sea. It has a lovely marina in front of the hotel with boats of different shapes & sizes. The hotel has a very friendly & helpful staff that provide information about the area and surrounding cities. We chose Seaport Beach because it seemed like an ideal location to stay the night before our cruise which started at IJmuiden, Felison Cruise Terminal. Turned out to be a great choice as the hotel was comfortable and very welcoming. It is within sight of the Felison Terminal but not really accessible by foot if one has much luggage, due to a couple of steep stairways over a sea wall. It's a short taxi ride to the Cruise terminal and is certainly more convenient than getting there from Amsterdam... Read more

All around, the Holiday Inn IJmuiden was an excellent choice, good breakfast, friendly, English speaking staff, great service, clean and the location was AMAZING! The room was spacious, except for the small toilet room which was tight but overall the hotel made our holiday great. Parking close and reasonable at 8 euros a day, close proximity to Haarlem and Amsterdam but peaceful to sleep at the beach.

Clean, spacious rooms with amazingly comfortable beds ??? Friendly, helpful staff especially Britt. Couple of minutes walk to the sea front bars and eateries. Ideally situated for what we needed when visiting friends and attending a wedding close by. Bus stop at the end of the street so don't really need a car, will definitely return.

The hotel situated on the coast should be rememberable for its location. Unfortunately this is spoilt by some of its staff who ruin the experience, particularly some of the receptionists and bar staff who appear to be arrogant and unhelpful. The rooms are clean but often the electrics and bathroom equipment does not work properly and it is clear no one checks to make sure any defective equipment is repaired before a guest arrives. As a regular visitor I have noticed a deterioration in service ov... Read more

We were greeted warmly upon arrival and were given an excellent room overlooking the harbor. The rooms were as advertised and we made good use of the balcony. We would strongly recommend eating elsewhere. There are a few good restaurants only a kilometer or so down the road. For what we paid the restaurant in the hotel served average to poor quality.

On our first one night stay on 18 august which we had booked via booking.com, we were very impressed with everything, and then we returned to the hotel one week later to stay for 3 nights. We were very disappointed to find that we could not have a harbour facing room as we requested and they gave us a room on the opposite side with a view dune and which was a lot smaller than our first stay. We also had to share our balcony with another room, which was also disappointing, this all for the same p... Read more

Spent the weekend here after a long 2 weeks of work. Hotel provided an upgrade with port view. The suite was large and accommodates 4 easily. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast is adequate but a mad house. Funny how animalistic people can become over food. :) Best part is being near the beach and port. We rented bikes from the hotel and rode 60km through the area. Hotel could use some freshening up. Definitely worth the price of admission. Will stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in September while on a short break. We chose it for its proximity to the places we wanted to visit and because it was a Holiday Inn, a brand we have confidence in. We had a lovely room with balcony overlooking the marina and really enjoyed seeing the sunrises and sunsets, the comings and goings of the boats and cruisers, and also the big tankers and other seagoing vessels. The breakfasts were fabulous with a huge choice of food; the dinners w... Read more

Great hotel if you want to get away from the craziness of Amsterdam. Walk to the beach, see the ocean and ships from you room. There is not many services around the hotel, so a car is essential. Request a room facing the ocean. Hotel restaurant is quite cozy and food is pretty good. Menu is quite limited. Front desk staff extremely helpful and nice. Overall great one night stay. Would go again. Hotel is somewhat dated and needs some updating in the rooms. But overall OK.

I stayed in the hotel 2 nights for a business convention. I arrived late at night and when I went for a shower I had no hot water. After playing for few minutes with the tap I managed to get some warm water but after 2-3 minutes they became cold again. The next morning I advised the reception about the problem and they promised to take care of it immediately. When I went to shower the second evening I had the same problem and again had to take it with warm to cold water. The next morning when I... Read more

The hotel is ok. Breakfast and lunch are ok too. Dinners are pretty good. The staff is excellent, but the hotel has a serious heating problem. Rooms are too hot. The meeting rooms on the east side are too hot, while the one on the west side is really cold. The mini fitness could be better too. No mats for stretching for instance. The potential is there, it just needs some points of attention.
