Great Service at the reception, great breakfast with a big choice of eggs any style. Room is good, but a little bit old fashioned. People on the terrace can be heard in the evening very clearly even on the first floor if window is open in a warm night. City center is in walking distance, appr. 15 minutes walk.

This was a pleasant stay with modern furnishings, a comfortable bed (with thick memory foam topper), and decent amenities. It had the best water pressure I have yet to experience in The Netherlands. The attached restaurant (and the associated room service food) was excellent. I was able to find an Uber within ten minutes each time I needed one. It is right next to Frederikspark, a wonderful little park founded in 1389. The only drawback was that my room came with free mini-bar, but the fridge di... Read more

Excellent hotel with wonderful location just in the heart of the center. Polite and friendly staffs who speaks fluent English. Clean rooms, tidied up every day. Hotel restaurant offers great variety of food and drinks. Bicycle rental is a plus. Bus stations nearby, convenient in going to airport and visiting keukenhof gardens.

Walking distance or bike (the hotel have them) into the centre. Nice hotel, great food. all the staff were very helpful. I have stayed here on numerous occasions and some rooms require a bit of updating and some have been done. So possibly ask for an updated bedroom. The food is very good and genuinely the staff could be more helpful or friendly. I even managed to bring a blouse that fastened behind my neck so totally impossible to do yourself but the girls were more than obliging :)

This is my 4th time to The Carlton Square Hotel, and that is saying something. This hotel is absolutely beautiful the staff are very friendly and could not do enough for us. This time we went along with our son and his fiancé they absolutely loved it too. This hotel is in Haarlem which is a quiet area which is what we wanted. Sadly the Whisky bar is no longer there, as the hotel has had a bit of a refurb, however, they have a great restaurant, the pate on the menu was so devine we ordered... Read more

A hotel that looks and feels a little tired. The rooms are quite small, with a bath/shower where the water pressure & temperature is variable. The towels are 'thin', which I think is always a sign of cost saving at the expense of quality. The bar/restaurant area is nice, but the breakfast is somewhat underwhelming. Car parking is offered below the hotel, but is not cheap. Overall disappointing.

This hotel has apparently been recently renovated, and it was lovely. The room was nicely decorated and the bed truly comfortable. Nice bathroom, also. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant after spending all day at Keukenhof Garden. We would definitely stay here again. It's away from the town center on a lovely small square, which we really liked...it was pretty and quiet.

The staff in the hotel and their fabulous restaurant were all extremely friendly and helpful and wonderful people. The room was so full of beautiful comforts and amenities that it made our stay just perfect! The bed...oh my goodness, super cozy and comfortable! The shower... BEST ever rain shower! Carlton Square Hotel is a nice hotel. The hotel is located about 1.8 Kms from Haarlem station and finding direct bus from station is a bit difficult. There were no taxies either. But bus 300 from airport and a lot of other buses from amsterdam city centre were there, which can drop at Tempelierstraat stop which is just a stone throw away. One can find bus for Haarlem station from there too. Apart from this the hotel is lovely. Right from fast checkin to checkout everything was perfect. Room was... Read more

First off, I was glad I chose to stay 3 nights in Haarlem. We found it more charming than Delft. We were lucky that the Flower Parade passed by the Carlton Square (about 20 or so steps to the route). The following day it was a very short walk to where the flower floats can be admired up close. Walking to the train station took about 10-15 minutes but if you are energetic, the distance would not be an issue. We used Haarlem as a base to go on day trips (Rotterdam, Delft, den Haag) for the first h... Read more

The wonderful city of Haarlem has some challenges - parking being one and in particular parking near the centre and hotels unless you arrive by train or cab. This hotel is just a short walk from the centre of Haarlem and has the advantage of having a public parking garage underneath - not a cheap one but nonetheless convenient for the hotel and city. I rated this property as Excellent a year ago, but it is even better after the renovations to the front lobby and the dining room (and maybe elsewhere). The dining room in particular is very up-scale and modern, and the breakfast continues to be outstanding. While their list price is 20 Euros as I recall, which is pricey, you can get it for something like 12 or 13 Euros if you book it in advance through the front desk. Wonderful hotel close to the centre of Haarlem. It has very good price for quality rooms and you should definitely try a suite with jacuzzi and complementary bar (cognac and whiskey). Very spacious room; unfortunately ours had no view. Very comfortable kingsize bed. Public parking is available below the hotel, but it is quite pricy (approx. 30 euros for 24 hours). Probably the best hotel to visit Haarlem. A must!!!!!

This is a lovely little hotel in the suburb of Haarlem. Nice little balcony but it does tend to get noisy late at nights by drunks and yobs congregating in the square outside. I recently stayed at this hotel whilst on business in the area. Overall I was very impressed with the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and spotlessly clean. I was particularly impressed with the bar/restaurant area, very modern with a very tasty breakfast on offer. The location of the hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the city centre. This however for my purpose of the trip was no problem at all. All in all a very solid hotel, I would certainly recommend.
