The Waldorf in Amsterdam is a beautifully restored group of canal houses from another era. The grounds are beautiful with a Lovely unexpected gardens in the back of the property. The room was somewhat small but this is to be expected in Amsterdam in the historic portion of town, but all of your needs were taken care. The bathroom was large with a great walk in shower and a large tub. The restaurant in the hotel is one of the best in the world and is worth the price. When I get back to Amste... Read more

The location of this hotel is perfect, right on the canal, with Rembrandt Square and plenty of restaurants, art galleries, and shops right around the corner, and an easy walk to anywhere including museums such as Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh. Our room was very clean with a very comfortable floorpan, with all the appointments that you would expect in the Waldorf, including heated bathroom floors, tall ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries, choice of nightly fragrance wit... Enjoyed 4 nights at the Waldorf earlier this week, and greatly enjoyed the experience. Amsterdam is a pricey city, and the Waldorf is on the high end of the range, but it was worth it. Perfect location within a walk of every highlight, very quiet and perfectly appointed rooms, fantastic shower, great service, bikes to use as needed, great restaurants, very good fitness centre, beautiful gardens and fantastic bar and bartenders. Only minor quibbles were the breakfast was pretty busy and not a... Read more

Patrick in the Concierge department was fantastic. Don't miss the gardens or the Vault Bar. Breakfast is delicious and well served.

With tears in our eyes...heading back to Atlanta after a fabulous three night stay at this six star hotel. We had a beautiful deluxe room overlooking the canal. The staff are all extremely gracious. Patrick, the concierge who steered our entire stay, was so helpful and very friendly. If we are lucky enough to make it back to Amsterdam, we will definitely stay here again. We have stayed at five star hotels all over the world and Waldorf had to be one of the best!!

The Waldorph exceeded all expectations,a beautiful hotel absolutely immaculate. Wonderful staff, very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.Nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous room, total luxury. We only had breakfast so can't comment on the food other than breakfast which was delicious. One very tiny moan, coffee and tea for breakfast was very slow on the Sunday when the room became busy and had to chase three times. When we next go to Amsterdam we won't be going anywhere else!! Brilliant.

I spent two nights at the hotel for a business trip in a canal-facing room. The room was spacious with a huge bathroom (tub and shower), comfortable bed, lovely decoration and a great view. The service was excellent, as was the food. I dined twice for lunch in the hotel brasserie, which while pricey, was delicious. I had room service as well, which arrived promptly and was very good. The gym is very nice - clean, well appointed, and a decent size. The lobby is a lovely place to meet someone... Read more

Luxurious Hotel where small details are an important part of the Brand. Superb service and great common areas and installations. The like to pamper their guests and clients. Very good restaurant and the lobby bar with piano a big plus to relax and enjoy a good drink. The location is in the downtown area in a nice street next to the water. If you are looking for a real 5 star hotel. This is the place.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel staff is amazing and will do whatever you need. The airline lost our luggage and they coordinated the delivery of the bags for us. They kept us informed every day as to the status of the bags. Our room was beautiful and we were given the only room in the hotel with a balcony which was very special. I would stay here again the next time I'm in Amsterdam.

How do you describe such an experience. It was just sublime. From the moment I checked in where you are given a choice of which aroma you want your room to be sprayed with that evening, until check out it was total bliss. Admittedly not a cheap option but for a totally enhanced experience I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment you step by the door, they break the gold standard of service making every guest feel welcome and cherished. I take this opportunity to congratulate the general manager and thank as well as send warm regards to Peter the hotel sommelier, Monse, Kimberly, Aisha, Alexander, Kelton and Cl... Read more

My husband and I recently stayed here for ADE and AMF - the Waldorf made it truly an amazing stay. The rooms are beautiful and spacious! And very very clean. The beds, pillows and sheets super comfortable and the staff just amazing! This will be our special place. The Waldorf is just a few blocks from Rembrandt Square and the flower Mart, and the Museums. Super convenient but just a first class establishment. We will be back every year for AMF and will be staying here ! Thank you to the beautifu... Read more

Very charming hotel , right on the canal and steps away from all the walking attractions . Moreover , it;s only couple of years old but looks like it just recently opened . I can't think of anything that went wrong there , except they forgot to deliver the newspaper which they asked me if i wanted one . No big deal . One thing to watch out for is the uneven size of rooms due to the specific architecture of the buildings . The hotel is a series of 5 attached buildings to give the appearance of ... Read more

Can't fault our experience when staying at The Waldorf recently. The service is impeccable and the position of the hotel in Amsterdam is excellent for all aspects of the City. If you like to be pampered and enjoy sophistication this is the hotel for you but it is rather pricey!

Visited Amsterdam for my first time and could not be happier we stayed at the Waldorf. I'm a bit of a hotel snob so accommodations are important. The staff was friendly, helpful and the accommodations were beautiful, elegant and second to none. I particularly loved the heated floor in the bathroom. Perfect on a November day. The location was perfect in the old town close to Dam square and the red light area. This was my first time at a Waldorf, now I know why it gets the ratings it does. ... Read more

I spent one the best, if not the best weekends at the Astoria. From start to finish the experience was amazing, quite overwhelming service and attention to detail. I've found heaven on earth. Can't wait to experience it again.

While it might be part of a big chain the Waldorf Astoria in Amsterdam has all of the charm and attention to detail of a world class boutique hotel. The hotel has been carved out of a series of canal-side mansions and has been lavishly restored to create a luxuriously appointed hotel that oozes historic charm but has all of the modern comforts you could dream of. At the rear the hotel's restaurants and bars open out into a beautiful garden that was perfect for early evening summer cocktails. W... Read more

Faultless. Cannot come up with any critique, just faultless experience. Perfect family hotel in a wonderful setting. If you want to be pampered and spoilt, this is the place in Amsterdam. We particularly enjoyed our large and comfortable family suite. Perhaps I would suggest to warm up the swimming pool as it a bit too cold. But that's it. All the rest was wonderful.

We were greeted by Max upon arrival. He immediately took care of us and was very hospitable. He checked us in with great care and warmth with our interest in mind. All the staff were excellent. The breakfast was superb. Once again a particular member of staff was excellent in their service- Tom- who served us with professionalism and charm. He was speedy and efficient in his delivery and displayed a charismatic attitude. I would recommend both staff members to anyone visiting Waldorf Astoria an... Read more

Reading the other reviews and seeing the photos about the Waldorf Astoria in the picturesque city of Amsterdam, I was expecting a lot upon my arrival. Boy! did it live up to my expectations and more!!!! The hotel is situated right in front of the beautiful canals and the hotel interior it self is breath taking. Cecilia who checked us in was a great first impression and all of the staff we dealt with throughout our stay were also warm and friendly. A special shout out to Cecilia again who a few... Read more

As a long time and frequent traveler at Hilton properties around the world, I can readily say this is one of the crown jewels in high end hotels and the most exceptional hotel I have stayed in in a long time. The staffing and service is superior. From the front desk to the restaurants to the bar, the staff was wonderful - courteous, professional, and committed to a first class guest experience. The hotel is obviously very well run, and caters to vacation and business travelers with a level of... Read more

The hotel is new and feels very fresh. Service is very high standard and 5*. Good sales technique to encourage upgrading, which i did and enjoyed my better room. Lovely garden that would be nice in summer. Great location. Bar lacked atmosphere. The bed was the only and big disappointment. Bed is a super important factor. For a super luxury hotel i'd expect the bed to be dreamy like you never want to get out. The bed was instead medium and quite firm and could feel every turn. It really needs ... Read more

It's difficult to add to the many reviews posted prior, so I'll try... this was my 6th visit to Amsterdam and first time at the Waldorf. Beautiful property - every attention to detail is thought of. The staff is what makes this hotel 5 stars. The room was bright, airy, large and comfortable. The bartending brothers at the Vault were also fantastic - definitely bring an adventurous pallet and try their creations. Recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam for a 2 night break and had a truly brilliant weekend. Firstly the location of the hotel is brilliant, about 10 minute walk to Dam square, lots to see and do within close proximity and with the hotels complimentary bikes, you have the ability to fully explore the surrounding area- we rode over to Vondel Park which is beautiful. Secondly, as soon as you enter the hotel you are greeted by the most attentive staff, providing a personalised welcome/ch... Read more
