Top-location: oud-Zuid, silent neighborhood, not far from highway exit, pretty close to centre ànd parking space. Hotel has been refurbished, comfort is ok. Atmosphere is less 'warm' however than under the former (Meridien) management. Rooms work bit anonymous, bland. No mini bar, only a (very limited) assortment in a central mini bar at the reception. If you want to order food late, the (very friendly) receptionist is so honest to tell you it'll take 40 minutes. During breakfast the once excel... Read more

This hotel is just a short walk from the museum district and from Centrum but it is located on a canal in a nice quiet neighborhood. Ask for the new rooms over the canal. The views are charming. The lounge downstairs is very cozy and a great place the wind down. One nice bonus: the rainshower in the bathroom - wonderful after a day's walk around town.

I really liked our stay here. We found the room to be clean and comfortable. The hotel reception was really nice and showed off some funky art pieces. When we didn't go out we spent time outside the bar sitting by the canal which was really nice. The staff were pleasant and helpful. It was a little bit of a walk to the town centre but the trams were all over we just did not use them. This elegant hotel is located at the cross road between 5 channels in a nice residential area of Amsterdam. I have received an upgrade so I was in an executive room (superior) on the ground floor: it was amazing! We were directly on the water with a beautiful view. The bathroom was modern and clean and the bed super confortable. It is a high price hotel but Worth it.

We stayed five nights at the Wyndham Apollo. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room was very clean, the view of the canal was beautiful (swans swimming by daily), the internet was free and very fast (thank you so much for this!!), and the front desk service was impeccable. The rooms themselves aren't anything over the top special or unique but they do the job well and are reasonably spacious. When we decided to go to Amsterdam it really was on impulse; we had flown within two days of raising the idea and found ourselves at Wyndham Apollo more by chance than anything else. The location, whilst further south than most other hotels, does offer a good transition from the swell of Amsterdam and a chance to sit back and relax after long days in the city. The rooms are well presented, clean and whilst not ultra modern are well ahead of what would normally be expected given the price. The b... Read more

This hotel is in an excellent location: on the one hand it is less than 30 minutes (using the hotel's shuttle bus) from Schiphol Airport, whilst on the other it is less than 30 minutes brisk walk from the centre of Amsterdam. Amsterdam is a lovely city to visit however the centre gets very busy and so this is a perfect location in which to unwind. There are many excellent bars and restaurants nearby. Coming from Amsterdam I stay here because my house gets painted. I picked it for the great location, cosmopolitic yet tranquil. This was my first trip to Amsterdam. I was primarily traveling for work and the hotel that I was booked in for work was very expensive (285 Euro/night). Since I was arriving early to sightsee and would have to pay for this night, I chose the Wyndham for its price and its proximity to the hotel I needed to be at for work which was walking distance. I've just read some of the other reviews of this place and must say I disagree. While this hotel sits on a canal, it has absolutely no character to it and is best described as feeling like a hotel for business people or conferences. Yes the staff was friendly and helpful but if you are looking for a hotel with any type of character whatsoever, this is NOT the place for you. My wife, baby boy and I stayed here in June 2016. The hotel room itself was fine but it was annoying that we had pre-ordered a cot which just was not in the room when we checked in. It then took ages for the cot to be delivered by hotel staff. The breakfast was pretty rubbish for how much they charge. The staff really have no sense of urgency and it took forever to check out despite us being in a huge rush. This place is just 'ok' and nothing more.

What a great hotel!!!, going there with tram 5 is like a guided city tour of Amsterdam. The rooms have such a view of the boats in the water. It is so cozy to watch everything from our 5th floor room. Every staff are so friendly and helpful. We will surely go back there next time. Thank you so much Wyndham Apollo Hotel Amsterdam for the amazing stay.

Room was nice and comfy. Breakfast was excellent. View from dinning room but stunning. I would be very happy to end up here with this review. Unfortunately I had lots of problems with reception service. First, hotel staff couldn't find my company's card details so I had to pay with my private card. Than I had to ask for correct invoice twice. And at the and they charged me 50 euros more (as a security deposit) without any information. Luckily after few emails everything was sorted out. We stayed here for a wedding anniversary and, after mentioning this in the booking form, arrived to find we'd been allocated a nice suite with a bottle of wine and some chocolates - a nice touch we thought. The hotel itself is a little dated but generally well maintained and clean. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and our room was very pleasant, with a great view over canal intersection. The bathroom was spacious and maybe could have done with a bit of a harder scrub but was OK. ... Read more

We stayed last weekend on a visit to Ansterdam and was pleasantly surprised. A good location near to De Pijp and only a 20 minute walk to the centre. Rooms were clean and comfortable and staff polite. The canal side bar was lovely too! As it was our anniversary they also sent up some chocolates which was a nice touch. Will definitely consider for our next visit.

Would prefer to stay in central Amsterdam next time I visit this beautiful city. This hotel is quite far south, it took me a half hour to get from Central Station by tram. In addition, the tram was rerouted when I was there. Walk to tram is a good 15-20 minutes. Only convenient to Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. Rooms satisfactory. Restaurant was overpriced with mediocre food and poor service.

I was working at the Rai conference centre and this hotel was perfectly placed for that. A regular boat shuttle takes guests to the Rai, I never managed to catch it as my timetable didn't fit, but it's a short and lovely walk through quiet streets to get there, a max of 10 minutes at a gentle pace (ignore Google!). My room was tricky to find (020), I was on a subterranean level near the spa, and the signage didn't really help me get there, but I found it eventually. Initially I was a bit disapp... Read more

Stayed here two nights. Room is a little small, but adequate. Hotel is very clean, modern and staff is very helpful. It appears to be a place where many cruise lines place people coming in the night before the cruise staying only one night. Bar has a simple menu and food was good. Only concern is that it is not near the busy area of Amsterdam where the shops and restaurants are. It is a good 10 minute walk to the tram and then 11 stops to the Central Station. I spent 5 nights at the hotel at a work conf and the staff, faculties and food were brilliant. The view from the terrace for breakfast was just beautiful watching the boats go by in the morning. The selection of food throughout the week was really enjoyable and would recommend as a place to stay. Stayed at Wyndham for 2 nights, the location is great, for extra 35 eur per night you can get one with canal view, the rooms are very clean and well equipped. The style is rather classical than modern, looks like a posh place to spend a nice gettaway, and the prices are accordingly. I expected better service, though. When checking out we were asked about our plans and got sold Van Gogh museum tickets from the concierge (with the guarantee that we will have no queue). Arriving there with our tick... Read more
