We stayed here prior to our cruise last month and it was in the perfect location. It was a five minute walk from the Central train station which we took the train from the airport. Also in front of the train station is where all the canal boat and bus tours leave from so nice and convenient. The hotel itself was lovely, the front desk folks were very nice and helpful. The beds in the room were very comfortable and we had two double beds, not singles like most hotels have when you ask for two b... Read more

My best friend and I had a city break and wanted to be near to all the city attractions but just away from the hustle and bustle. This hotel was perfect. 5 min walk from central station and 10 min from Dam square. Comfortable beds, so peaceful and spacious, modern. We had a city view room which was lovely. We used bagels and beans for breakfast . Really glad we went for this rather than a hotel right in the centre and the walk back of an evening was pleasant. Worth the free ferry across to the I... Perfect hotel for a couple of days city break. Just a 5 minute walk from central station and a 10 minute walk into the centre it was nice being a little further out as it was much quieter. Nice clean, modern room, big and airy with a comfortable bed and had all shower gel and shampoo we needed so we didn't have to bring that in our hand luggage. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We went to bagels and beans opposite for breakfast which is lovely. Would defiantly stay at this hotel again!

After a disastrous experience with Airbnb (my host not answering my messages and then informing me an hour before my stay that he was sick and couldn't have guests) I booked a standard room at the Aitana and, luckily, got upgraded to a suite. The service at the desk was great, staff are friendly. I was a bit weirded out by how empty a lot of the hotel is but this was put to rest when I saw the suite - floor to ceiling windows across one entire side of the room, looking out at the IJ, a free st... It`s a must to visit the area Jordaan, 2 min walk from the hotel, and dont forget the nice bar/kafe in the north end - named Meineer, just 200m from the hotel - wonderful.

Me and my partner went to hotel Aitana back last year in November so excuse the late review. The hotel is super modern and clean. Check in was seemless, we were shown straight to our room which was VERY SPACIOUS and modern. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the bathroom was spotless with some free toiletries. I stayed at Room Mate one night as part of multi-destination business travel. I appreciated the location near the train station. There is a Tram, but with a small roller bag it was not problem walking back and forth from the train station as a woman in my 7th decade and traveling alone. Good bed. Nice view. Comfortable feeling both in and outside this hotel. If you prefer modern high rise over revived canal this is the place for you.

My husband and I stayed here for our four day visit to Amsterdam recently, and found it to be a good choice. Our room was very modern and clean with interesting views of the harbor. The hotel is not right in the thick of the city, but on the water, and this made it a little quieter. We found it was very easy to walk to from the Central Train Station, and also very walkable to wherever we wanted to go really. There were good places to eat close by. We visited this hotel last week for a long weekend. Past reviews said the Hotel was too far from the centre of Amsterdam but we felt it was in a perfect place, 5 minutes from the train station. The staff on reception were very helpful. We had a corner suite which was spacious and had great views. The restaurant had a limited menu. Spent 4 days at the Aitana in August 2016. Rooms are VERY spacious, clean and bright. Rooms are av available to book into from 2pm, so if you are getting into Amsterdam early, they will pre check you in and mind your luggage until you return. We didn't partake in any room service or eat at the hotel so couldn't comment on that. One small issue is at 6pm we came back from our day in Amsterdam to get ready for the evening and the room had not been cleaned. At 6:40 the cleaners knocked on to clean ... Read more

The hotel was extremely clean and in a safe area - only about 5 minutes walk to the central station. There are breakfast options right opposite the hotel and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. They took about 2 hours to check us in and we were only able to get our rooms at about 5pm but we were alright with waiting after a long flight, and they compensated by giving us coupons for free drinks at the bar. In all, highly recommended!

Beautiful hotel, good location however it is a small walk into the centre. I stayed here on business, so it was perfect. I was told on my arrival that I was upgraded to an executive suite, which sounded amazing but when I arrived to the room, the room looked no different to how the others looked on the website, however I was on the tenth floor, so had a fab view overlooking the skyline of Amsterdam old town, breakfast was great - plenty of choice and all staff friendly!

The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Amsterdam Centraal and is situated right on the water, although the views to the north are blocked by another building, the southern views overlook a marina then back to the city. Wonderful view of the sea, close to the city center in the up and coming area of Amsterdam - albeit service, breakfast quality and room comfort is only "ok". Very good value for money. Downsides: - Bed and pillows slow uncomfortable - Minibar snacks tastes old, seems like they rarely changes them - Breakfast fairly basic and "continental style"

Me and my partner stayed for two nights in a double bedroom. Lounge and check in area is a sight to behold; clean, well decorated and lots of seating. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Bar is super expensive so try to avoid it. We didn't make any use of the resturaunt. The room was really spacious and well lit by a plethora of lamps, the window took up an entire wall; displaying a lovely view of the harbor and across the city. The curtains are blackout and will supress all rays of su... Read more

We have spend two nights in this beautiful hotel with our two little kids. Our room was spacious and the view in the canal was very nice. We were in the 6th floor! We rented some bicycle just across the hotel, it's the best way to visit Amsterdam. The central station is located at 10 minutes walk and the heart of the city is at 20 minutes walk from the hotel. Responsive staff. We will definitely come back!!

I stay here regularly on trips to Amsterdam, and can safely say it's a joy every time. Fantastic service and conduct by staff, jazzy interior designs, comfy rooms, reasonable upgrade prices, good bar and restaurants, 10 mins walk from Centraal. All for a reasonable asking price. See you there on my next visit!

A short business trip was the reason for my visit to Amsterdam and I was truly impressed with my stay at Room Mate Aitana. I had initially made my choice to stay in this hotel based on excellent TripAdvisor reviews from previous guests and I am happy I chose to stay here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was even a small welcome gift in the room for my little son who had accompanied me on my business trip. Room was excellent: modern, yet cosy and very clean. Great views over the city a... We spent 3 nights in this modern hotel, very conveniently located 10 minutes walk from Centraal Station and therefore on the edge of the city center with all its wonderful attractions - canals, museums, art galleries etc. Bedroom very quiet (ours on the 5th floor) with view over the inner harbour, beds very comfortable and blackout curtains very effective. We bought breakfast at the station cafes since usefully cheaper as hotel restaurant rather expensive, though quality good - we took our last ... Read more

We very much enjoyed our stay, very convenient location close to the station. Unfortunately not very quiet, street noise quite a factor during the night. Breakfast was horrible experience - slow/no service, food not refilled. All other staff very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for two nights before a cruise. We had a lovely room with a view looking out to the main waterway. Rooms are generous in size, bed is comfy and bathroom is good and amenities are funky. We didn't have any meals in the hotel. We found that the hotel was a little bit out of the main area although saying that Jordan is a lovely neighbourhood wth great restaurants, shops and photo opportunities. We were a party of 6 on a stag weekend and most of us had never been to Amsterdam before, so had booked this on the strength of other TripAdvisor reviews. In every way, the Aitana lived up to, or exceeded, expectations. When we checked in and mentioned we were on a stag do, our rooms were upgraded from inward facing to dockside facing! Rooms were spacious, spotless and serviced to high standards. Many in our group thought the double beds were the most comfortable they had ever slept in! When we... Read more

I found this hotel via expedia but booked directly having read some reviews on here and the website itself. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel as the location is excellent, a beautiful building right on the water, moments from the station, the staff were extremely helpful, the room was spacious well equipped but the bar area was the winner. The area has been cleverly designed so you can sit in complete private enjoy a relaxing drink in comfort, but the staff are there you just don't... Read more

This hotel is in a great location as it is around the corner from central station and the main strip (about a ten minute walk). Our room is clean and the bed is really comfortable! It's worth the money. The hotel fills the room with drinks and snacks which you pay for if you eat and they are quite expensive however there is a little shop in the central station which isn't far away.

Joeri S This boutique hotel is very good reachable by car and perfect situated as a good base to explore the wonderful city of Amsterdam with a beautiful view of the marina and the river "IJ". The reception was very warm and the friendliness of all the staff was superb! We ended up Aitana using a tip from Goedele Liekens in a Belgian newspaper and her review was 100% correct! This hotel has a great vibe and has a very funky feeling. The rooms are a nice size, beds are comfortable and the staff are helpful and friendly with any questions. Hotel is about 5-10 mins walk from Amsterdam Central Station. I did find the hotel hallways and lifts to be dark (perhaps due to the light fittings) but overall, great hotel.

I immediately like the hotel.when steping in. The design is modern and colorful. Checkin service is good and quick. The staff is cheerful that makes you feel warm. Room is spacious and comfortable. It has more than enough space for two people. It is much bigger than the hotel that we stay at Copenhagen though the price is almost the same. The only downside is lacking of food choices near by. But the bagel shop at the opposite is very good. Walking around the hotel area is nice too.

Stayed for 2 nights on a city break. Convenient location close to central train station and main centre. Lovely room, comfy bed and all that's needed for a weekend exploring. We went out early and came back late each day so did not use any facilities, but found the staff to be superb. We were able to do a very early check in as room was available. Free use of printer, which was great for doing flight boarding passes on home trip.

I stayed here for 2 nights and was very impressed. The location is great and you can walk to Central Station in 5 mins, Dam Square in 15 mins and the museum area in about 45 mins. My room was very large with a king sized bed. It was clean and well appointed. The check in process was fast and the staff member was very helpful and provided a handily little walking map of the city. The only disappointment was not having a real coffee machine in the room. My expectations are quite modest when it comes to Dutch hotels. Despite of price and acclaimed stars service is quite limited. That is why my expectations were quite low when travel office made booking for Aitana hotel. Name is not know to as my preferences are established business hotels as Hyatt or Marriott. I stayed at Room Mate Aitana for a work conference, and we ate 2-3 meals at the hotel each day. I'd recommend skipping this, if you can. The food was either strangely cobbled together (dishes that don't go together, or just a bunch of sides with nothing substantive or clearly a main) or just gross. Dutch food is delicious. This just didn't seem to be Dutch food. Breakfast was fine, and maybe the meals and not the buffets are better. The beds were super comfy, but be wary of those curtains--you ... Read more

Lovely hotel, decent location on edge of town but just close enough. Well worthy of 4 stars however there was an ongoing issue with hot water in the whole hotel during our stay. We woke up to none on 1st morning, so cold showers....not very romantic for our anniversary! Wifey instructed me to "sort it!". After reporting and going out for the day to explore Dam, reception later assured it was fixed...off I go to run a bath thinking how good a husband I am...but no, dribbles of hot water - not sor... Hotel was all good, rooms clean and modern with mod cons. We had standard room which was no massive but had enough space for a couple. Main drawback for me that breakfast is not included as standard and is an expensive add on - not worth the extra in my view. But it is a nuisance to go out on an empty stomach to find a cafe. Location is good, 10mins walk from central station.
