This hotel has a fabulous location with wonderful restaurants all around. The staff is exceptional! Our room had a problem with heating and cooling and when the issue could not be corrected immediately, we were moved across the street to a sister hotel for a night and then given a new room the next day. This was at the height of tulip season and the hotel was fully booked. The staff could not have been more responsive and helpful! We also really enjoyed the help staff gave in recommending t... Friendly staff at check-in, very helpful with directions, offered up a map and pointed out various areas of "local" shopping areas as opposed to the tourists shopping areas, which we did go to, noticeably less expensive, .many choices for dining around the hotel, one night we dine at Sushi place I believe it was called Shabu Shabu very good, for E25.00 AUCE menue not Buffett, highly recommend. The room was a good size, not to big, not to small, perfect, will stay here again

We have stayed 5 nights in the NH CARANSA and I have to say that it was a great stay. We were celebrating our anniversary and they welcomed us already knowing that. The Room was of a good size with a big window. I was very concerned about the reviews about the noise but I have to say that our room (508) was absolutelly quiet. The bed was comfortable and big enough for us. The cons in the room: very small bathroom, expected more for that. There is no place to put the deodorants and our stuff. Th... Read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here last week Monday-Friday. We couldn't have asked for a better location! Our room was on the 4th floor, really well equipped with a minibar also. Room was immaculate and towels replaced daily and room cleaned. All the reception staff we came across were so helpful and polite, really willing to help. Hotel has a tram stop right outside the door, easy access to everywhere! Multiple bars, restaurants, clubs on the doorstep so you are spoilt for choice. We would high... Read more

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel NH Caransa in Amsterdam for 7 nights. From the time we got our room to our leave, the staff was always there with advice, help, and really anything anyone would need. This is a 4 star hotel with a 5 star hotel service. This is not the cheapest hotel around, but its location in Rembrandt Plein is very convenient for exploring Amsterdam and the public transportation is VERY GOOD. Our room on the 6rd floor was a medium sized room and bathroom (although the shower i... Read more

Always liked it to stay at the Caransa. The breakfast buffet was varied and I adored the Dutch poffertjes. The rooms are decorated in a modern city style and the location is in the right spot on Rembrandtplein, in the middle of the city center with many bars and coffee shops. Haven't been to beautiful Amsterdam for more than 10 years, but when I will come back someday, I will stay again at a NH hotel in the city. Tot ziens Amsterdam ;-)

Great hotel in the perfect location for exploring Amsterdam, lots of restaurants and bars close by. Good stay in clean, comfortable and well equipped rooms. Although in the centre of a busy area there was little noise from street. Staff were helpful and courteous.

The area is lively and too noisy to get a good nights sleep - if you are at the side or on the front. The canal side was fine apparently. the breakfast was very good with a selection of breads and drinks.

Just like many other reviews the location is perfect. A 20 minute walk will take you to any attraction. The hotel does not have a business centre but the staff are very polite and will assisit you with any requirement including printing boarding passes. I would definitely stay at this hotel again !!!

We had issues with housekeeping during our two-day stay, which the front desk settled to our satisfaction on the spot at check-out. The managing staff followed up to make sure we were satisfied. No a/c was a killer during high humidity (although moderate temps).

Stayed here 20-24th June and even though the weather wasn't fantastic, the hotel, location and staff made up for this. After emailing the hotel requesting a spacious room as myself and my other half were celebrating both of our birthdays, we were welcomed to a free upgrade with balloons and chocolates in our lovely, spacious room. They put a fan in the room which is a life saver as the air-con isn't great, but the fan was good enough for us. It can get a bit loud at night especially as the ... Read more

The staff were lovely and everything went very smoothly. The bed and breakfast I would definitely recommend and the room was very modern and clean. The location of the hotel is superb with a tram line just outside! However the restaurants near by were all very similar and rather expensive. Overall, a very satisfying visit for a young couple.

A quiet, very comfortable room in a really pleasant hotel. The free wifi was excellent, the air conditioning effective but quiet. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast brilliant, with a very varied choice. There's an immense choice of great restaurants in the square, right outside the door!

This is in an ideal place if your looking for a lively area of Amsterdam but you are provided earplugs for the noise! It is situated right next to a pub, and all around. Couldn't actually hear much to be fair tho but we wasn't overlooking the front of the hotel. Nice comfy bed, decent shower, no lock on bathroom, and no plugs near the mirror which I thought was odd. Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in July. Firstly the location is great. Close to everything and also a tram stop right outside that takes you to centraal station in 5 mins. Room was a decent size with comfy bed (with a choice of pillows) and decent desk and seating area. The 40 inch T.v was one of the best i have seen in hotel rooms so that was good. Overall: Very pleasant hotel; nice surprise. Rooms: I was there with my dad so we had two rooms. His was lovely and a bit larger, mine had gorgeous views over one of the canals. Wished I could have stayed longer for that alone. So peaceful at night & great to wake up to. Some of the furniture was a bit worn but it wasn't very obvious and overall a very pleasant room. The hotel is clean, friendly staff, nice rooms. Overall, good value for money from a mid level, city centre hotel. Above al the location is outstanding. Right on Rembrandtsplein, with all the amenities it has and pleasant cafe culture. We didn't opt for breakfast as we wanted the option of trying different places but it looked nice; perhaps it would have been nice if we had been offered a day by day price (EUR17) instead of for the entire duration of our stay (EUR 272!)

Great staff, we had a room at the front which we loved, ours was a large room, climate control and mini bar. Lovely toiletries. Comfy beds. Great location of hotel - our room had a lovely view of remprantplein- if you want a quiet room ask for one at the back. Very clean but only complaint is hotel needs to update climate control as it wasn't working very well - would definitely stay again.

The NH Caransa is a tired hotel in need of an upgrade and after my weekend stay I was left feeling pretty tired too. When your hotel leaves complimentary ear plugs on the bed side tables you know you are in for a noisy night, but the noise levels in our room were something else. When the music kicked in at the nightclub next door we could actually FEEL the base - and two little foam earplugs weren't going to do the trick. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff are quite helpful and well trained to handle all queries and requests. The only downside to staying here is that if you get a room facing the square you are in for a sleepless night, especially if you are on the lower levels. The shear noise outside your window will not let you get a sound sleep. But the staff have been thoughtful enough to provide you with earplugs on your bedside. I am a bit gutted about our stay after reading great reviews. Our room is small (not much room around a double bed) very dusty around the skirting boards etc and the carpet is manky. The bathroom is absolutely tiny when you stand in the shower your head is nearly at the roof. We look out on to another wall and you can't open the window. You can hear everything from the rooms around us. Safe to say we would not return and we would not recommend this hotel. 130 euros a night we would expect better
