The location for perfect stay in Amsterdam can not be better than on Rembrantsplein. Everything is close by, and if you have room facing the courtyard, it will be very quiet. This hotel has great history and is quite popular, but it looks a bit dated and some parts are in need for refurbishment. Some rooms are very small, so it may be a good idea to double check the room type when booking.

This was a great safe hotel. The little pizza shop a few doors down still has the best pizza I've had in years. When I travel back to Amsterdam this is where I will stay. I loved being able to open the windows to look out the front of the hotel. And being able to open the window in the bathroom. The staff were wonderful!!

The hotel has a super location near many restaurants and attractions. It faces a plaza that can be loud at night, but we were asked when we checked in if we preferred a room facing the back and decided we preferred the view from the front. We got back to the room around midnight and the bar scene was out in full force around the plaza so it was quite loud, but the hotel thoughtfully provided earplugs so we slept very well. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, and room size was what you w... Read more

The hotel is in the very center, close to everything interesting in Amsterdam. The personel is efficient and friendly. But the rooms are quite old (the sink was broken here and there...). Also, the rooms that see at the Rembrandt square are very noisy (the windows are single glazed).

The room were so small and dark that we were given, the "bathroom" was ever so small as well and also old, the shower still had a shower curtain. But the worst thing about the room was, that it was so loud that they already placed earplugs next to the bed!!! And it was in fact so loud, because there was a bar next door. So I went down again and asked the lady for an other room, she did not have one, so she rebooked us to an other hotel of the NH group, which was ever so nice. Read me review abou... Read more

When we booked this hotel there was no mention of a live Dutch TV show broadcast each night Monday to Friday this meant no restaurant or bar after 7pm (although there were many bars and restaurants within the area). Luckily I had a room opposite side to the square no noise, but other family members had a room overlooking the square, so the noise from outside with live to show going on was not so good. Will return to Amsterdam as this was a great family holiday but will not use this hotel ever ... Read more

Was so impressed with the service as well as the hotel in general. It was my partners birthday during our stay and on arrival they had picked up on this and left a card and some goodies in the room. I needed a doctor the first night and they were very helpful in getting someone to us within half an hour. After the doctor left they came to the room with some fresh fruit and a get well card! The position of the Schiller is great with easy access to the main attractions and to and from the airport... Read more

Overall this was a very disappointing experience. We were able to leave our cases with reception for a 3pm check in but rooms not ready and had to wait another 40 minutes+. The standard rooms are very small and in urgent need of some refurbishment, eg tatty shower curtains, old windows, stained carpets. I had requested quiet rooms yet allocated a room at the front of the hotel. It was impossible to sleep due to horrendous noise/music from clubs and bars in the Square. I was given another room th...
