From the moment I arrived, everyone addressed me formally by name. I was meeting up with my friend late in the morning and unbeknownst to me, Louis, the front desk clerk had already checked her in. Not only had he extended this service which was greatly appreciated but, he had upgraded our room. He is professional, efficient and charming. A definite asset to the hotel. Each time we encountered a staff member they were quick to smile and ask if we required anything. On the rare occasion we did ha... Read more

Me and my wife spent a great weekend in Amsterdam and Okura Hotel was the cherry on top of the cake with the service they provide, quality restaurants, friendly staff and here I would like to thank you to Irina and Esmée who made our stay more then I was expecting. This was a surprise for my wife's 30th birthday and they made this look very very special and professional, we also got a free upgrade on the room at arrival. My words are not enough to say thank you. Thank you very much

Fantastic true 5 star Hotel! Stayed here multiple times. Service is impeccable. Rooms after the last renovation are very very nice. TV screen in your bathroom. Room service for breakfast is good. 3 restaurants within the building, 2 have Michelin stars. Traditional Japanese, Teppanyaki and a french cuisine Ciel Bleu. Location away from the downtown crazyness. Do Stay!

Okura hotel is for me one of the best hotels in Amsterdam , it is located in the Rivierenbuurt, a bit out of the center but oh so close as well. In about 15 minutes by tram or by bike you are at the Leidseplein en PC Hoofdstraat the famous and expencieve shopping area. And also 20 minutes from Rembrandtsqaure. The hotel has great spa as well and two of the top Michelin star -restaurants The restaurant at 28 floor changed it concept many times and I have been a customer there for almost 25 years... After arriving from America in the early morning I went to Hotel Okura to drop off my bags. They let me have my room early and were quite friendly and accommodating. The room was spotless and the bed so comfortable. After a rest and a shower I went walking in this new neighborhood for me. Around the Sarphatipark, about a 15 minute walk, there is a lot to do with a truly local feel. But the most special was dinner at the Yamazato restaurant in the hotel. I had heard that the food was quite ... Read more

The room was excellent, I had a truly good sleep, very restful. The front desk staff were very helpful and obliging. I asked one hour extension for the check out and there was no problem, it makes such a huge difference when you get this reply. The breakfast fits the class of the hotel, excellent. There is a spa and gym. The pool water was too cold for me, maybe it was just me, maybe it is january, not sure, in any case I didn´t step in. One thing I would change would be not to require guests t... Read more

Works like clockwork.. staff are always on point, customer service is fantastic. Rooms are beautiful - bathroom, bed, tv etc. Clean and inviting. Food is great. The staff were so welcoming to my toddler as well. Wonderful place to stay. We walked from the hotel to the centre of town and back.. if you don't feel like walking, there are trams and cabs readily available. We were there in the middle of Summer and it was quite windy, make sure you pack a jumper! Would definitely stay here again.

Yet another faultless "Leading Hotel of the World" . This lovely hotel is located outside the city centre and is a 40 minute walk to the Anne Frank House or 20 minutes to the museum quarter . If you don't fancy walking then there is a tram stop outside or easy taxis . The hotel has 4 outstanding restaurants which must be booked in advance , 2 Michelin star Japanese which are praised as being special by Japanese visitors , a 2 Michelin star French restaurant on the 23rd floor with a nice cocktail... The Okura Hotel management should be very proud. Their culinary strategy has paid off well. Two excellent Japanese restaurants (both Michelin), a 2-star French restaurant Ciel Bleu boasting amazing views and a bib-gourmand brasserie. When I was living in Amsterdam, I had dinner at the Okura regularly, simply because Yamazato is, without a doubt, the best Japanese restaurant in the Netherlands. Now, we live in Africa, and I've stayed at the hotel for the first time over Christmas. The rooms are ... Read more
