The Okura Hotel management should be very proud. Their culinary strategy has paid off well. Two excellent Japanese restaurants (both Michelin), a 2-star French restaurant Ciel Bleu boasting amazing views and a bib-gourmand brasserie. When I was living in Amsterdam, I had dinner at the Okura regularly, simply because Yamazato is, without a doubt, the best Japanese restaurant in the Netherlands. Now, we live in Africa, and I've stayed at the hotel for the first time over Christmas. The rooms are ... Read more

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and it has never disappointed me nor my husband. Amazing staff that are willing to do anything to please us in fact they are so great at what they do we see them as our family. I want to mention two main staff that are really important to us and really works hard at what they do at their job. One is Brenda one of the managers, she is a amazing women and always finds her way to do everything for us, even showed us the wedding venues in the hotel as we were thin... Read more

Room was excellent with very comfortable bed, clean and sizable bathroom, and nice views of the canal and business District. The hotel is located outside of the popular old town area but it is easy to get around the city from the trolley stop just up the street. An extensive array of choices at breakfast, sure to satisfy any family member. Front desk service was friendly and concierge was very helpful in securing tickets to Van Gogh museum and night canal boat tours.

Fantastic service from the moment we arrived at the door until the moment we left. Fabulous room with a glass bathroom which had electric blinds for privacy should you want it. Great views of Amsterdam and the canals from our room. We arrived around lunch time and ordered room service which was superbly presented and served and was of great quality. I will certainly stay here again five start service and facilities.

We spent weekend in Adam and stayed at Okura. Bit old fashion but very nice hotel with great staff. Usually not using hotel restaurants so much but the both Japanese restaurants are worth mentioning and trying. Just make your reservation well advance especially for teppanyaki.

My wife and I stayed at Okura for 3 nights for a long weekend. The room was nice but extremely hot - despite it being winter, we turned off the heating and it was still like like a sauna! The last guest had eaten one cube of Toblerone from the mini bar!!! We reported it and were told we would not be charged. Guess what...we were charged! Breakfast was great 10/10 and they serve until you leave! Location was a bit out. Staff were helpful. We had a meal at Yamasata - traditional Japanese rest... Read more

We were booked into Okura on a Viking extended stay in Amsterdam and were extremely surprised. The hotel, staff and restaurants exceeded expectations. The rooms were also very nice. This stay started off our European vacation in an excellent manner. I highly recommend Okura Amsterdam.

The Okura is a great business hotel. If the visitor is short on time, needs to see his/ her business contacts, maybe take them for a meal at one of the hotel's excellent restaurants, then the Okura is perfect. The Japanese heritage means service is excellent, rooms are pleasant and clean, there is a great gym and pool too. But there is something to be said for going a bit local when in a foreign land and that was not the feeling I had at the Okura. So, for business, thumbs up, but for a romanti... Read more

I stayed here for 2 nights for a short weekend away with my boyfriend. The hotel was accommodating, clean and the service was impeccable. It was the perfect place to stay for a romantic getaway. The turndown service was great and the pillow menu was a nice touch. I am definitely going to stay here again next time I go to Amsterdam.
