I stay almost weekly at this hotel for business. Really like it! Rooms are not very big, but the large windows with the amazing view makes you not care about that. Rooms are nicely decorated in a modern industrial style. Staff en Service is excellent! Super friendly! Always! The area is great. A lot of very good and trendy restaurants. Had great stay in the double tree Hilton the last weekend in May. Hotel is ferry ride from central station with sailing approx every 20-30mins. This hotel was perfect! I have never experienced such a pleasant staff and the check-in was great! Our room was really nice and I really appreciated the nespresso coffee and the functions of the room. All in all an wonderful stay and definitely recommend it.

Had a great stay. Best beds we experienced in all of the hotels we've tried in Europe. This hotel required a free ferry ride from the center of Amsterdam but it was a nice relaxing change of pace. It felt isolated and much more romantic then the hotels in the touristy area of Amsterdam but still close to all of that. Room service was nice but I wish they offered more variety. My only other complaint was my cookies weren't ready or delivered at check in ??

Booked because I was not familiar with Amsterdam. The hotel is very nice as are the rooms (much better than the sister property near central station), but the location is not good. It felt like I was staying at a hotel built in the middle of a giant parking lot. Not much in walking distance for options either. From here it's about 20-30 min (depending on traffic) to get into central Amsterdam where everything is. They will tell you only 15 minutes by ferry, but I've done it. By the time you wait... This Doubletree was situated in an unusual, industrial looking neighborhood, just across the wharf from Centraal Station. The ten minute ferry ride is not bad at all to get into the city, though keep track of the time, as it only comes every half hour. If you're looking for accommodation options within this area of Amsterdam then this hotel is perfect, and although it's not in the city's heart, it should still be an option to consider principally due to value, service, and sleep quality. Doubletree NDSM was a backup choice after the rates near the airport went a little crazy last minute. I usually grab a hotel in Amsterdam on my way back from Belgium before a morning flight to the US. It is only about 20 minutes to the airport from the hotel with no traffic. It is a little tricky getting to the location with the current road construction, but once I got there I was greeted warmly in their reception area. Very accommodating hotel with easy access to Amsterdam at a much lower price than staying in the central part of the city. There is a ferry service which runs every 20 to 30 min with extended hours on Friday and Saturday night. The hotel is also located in an up and coming arts area of the city. When you first arrive it would appear that you are staying in a neglected part of the city but on closer inspection you will see that the steer containers are actually artist shops.

Main question - are you only looking for the quaint and picturesque or does an edgy post-industrial site with a giant shipping crane and a rusty Russian submarine appeal? The NDSM Doubletree is the "other" Doubletree in Amsterdam, and not to be confused with the one next to Centraal Station. This Doubletree is newer, friendlier, and in a niche part of the city. You get there by a free ferry across the harbor canal. The ferry is at the back of Centraal Station and runs frequently. It's a short walk to the hotel. The hotel is not located right in the middle of Amsterdam, but there is a free (and easy) ferry to the Wharf that leaves every 30 minutes and takes 10-15 minutes to get back to the city (near Centraal Station). After going to the wrong hotel taking the wrong ferry I wasn't in the best of moods. I tried to move to central station double tree as I found it far away by ferry. This couldn't be done was confusing from Hilton point of view I was happy to pay difference. Anyway the hotel service was very good especially from duty manager slightly dark skin fellow. What an excellent hotel very modern. Staff were warm and welcoming and we greeted with warm cookies which I thought was very unique. Rooms were turned down everyday despite lying on some days until after 12! Fab service couldn't have asked for more. Beds were so comfortable and the ferry from central station ran frequently for free and only took 10 minutes, great location.

This hotel is not downtown, but a free 15 minute ferry and you're at Centraal station. Hotel room is very functional, making the best use of the small space. Breakfast is worthwhile, with healthy selection of cold and hot options. Don't forget the yummy cookie at check-in.

This hotel was located about 10 minute walk from Amsterdam railway station and very close to the city centre. We stayed there the night before joining our river cruise. The warm cookies on checkin were a pleasant surprise after a long train journey. The room was clean and modern. Breakfast was downstairs and offered a variety of delicious treats.

With only one person at reception, it was a long wait in the queue, not what I wanted after a long day. I had already waited 10 minutes for s... Read more
