Fabulous hotel - I'd recommend to anyone & stay here again myself. The service was excellent, staff were extremely friendly & the decor was really atmospheric throughout the hotel (maze like at times but fun!) I had to kill some time waiting for my husband to arrive so grabbed a cocktail in the bar - it was pricy but worth it - you're given nibbles which are plentiful & tasty. This hotel is just breathtakingly beautiful! The design details are everywhere and the service is so on point. The restaurant Janz is sooo good for dinner or breakfast. The location is super convenient and the street its located on is lovely. This was my favorite hotel in Amsterdam hands down!!! Special thanks to Carlos for showing us around the hotel and going out of his way to address my family in spanish and to Ron and his concierge team for arranging this amazing tours for us!!!

This salon Boat called the Tourist is over a 100 years old and belongs to the hotel. We took a tour of the canals in this boat. The boat though not very impressive from the outside is in immaculate condition. The interiors are lovely and made of special wood which they say comes from a tree now extinct. The skipper was a nice guy who did the tour with great enthusiasm. We were told that Winston Churchill took the same boat when he was in Amsterdam. It was a special experience. Either you could t... Beautiful room in a beautiful historical palace. Spectacular location. Staff is super kind and nice. We've been several times in Amsterdam and Pulitzer has been one of the best. Situated in the very pretty canal area, close to a wonderful variety of little shops and all the main attractions, this newly refurbished boutique hotel has got it all. Being made of a collection of traditional three storey Amsterdam merchants houses , the layout and rooms are quirky and individually furnished. The main reception areas are nicely furnished, and the reopening of the main part of the hotel, gym and gardens in August 2016 is only going to enhance the experience. The staff were all... Read more

This hotel is really nice. This was my third trip to Amsterdam and this was the best place I stayed here. The room was nice although some noise from the kitchen elevator (I think) was a bit annoying. The staff were very friendly and the food was lovely (although expensive). It was my wife's birthday when we stayed and they left her a card and a cake in the room for her. Good central location as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I've been here for a couple of times. My parents like this hotel. As for me,I prefere more smaller hotels. The rooms are different,so be sure to have a spacious room. My last was at the first floor close to main entrance. My parents was 200 steps from the main entrance 3-5 min walk)) The breakfast is really good. But pricey a bit. to compare price and quality - its a bit overpriced. But in a good level. Cheers Rod

My wife and I spent a long weekend in Amsterdam and the Pulitzer was the perfect base to explore the city. The hotel itself is a little quirky since it is spread through around 25 historic canal homes between the Keizersgracht and Prinzengracht canals. Our room (462) was in the top of a building with a nice view of the canal below. The room was very cozy and welcoming and had a great bathroom. It did require a bit of a walk through the hotel, an elevator, and then a flight of very narrow stai... Read more

The hotel is currently under renovation which was barely noticeable - I wish we could go back after their courtyard opens! The rooms are lovely. We booked the classic suite and my only disappointment was that the website picture apparently shows the family suite. The Pulitzer was an elegant and charming hotel which featured beautiful canal houses and gave you a true sense what it was like to stay in Amsterdam. The hotel has since been renovated with a new theme. After a two week tour of Greece with marginal matresses the beds at the Pulitzer were a little slice of heaven. I was lovingly cocooned in feather bed and feather duvet with marshmalow pillows. Too bad there was so much to see and do in Amsterdam, (One of my favorite cities.) or I might have been tempted to sleepvaway the days amd nights! Instead we bought sweaters and wandered the city. The bus/tram ticket for unlimited rides was such a bargain in the end. Lovely, lovely hotel.

For our Amsterdam trip we first booked a different hotel, but my partner found an attractive deal for the Amsterdam Pulitzer hotel. So we changed our booking. Arriving at the Pulitzer was absolutely not disappointing, on the contrary, we found a very nice and cosy hotel built in ancient mansions at the typical Amsterdam "grachten". The staff was very friendly and helpful. In the evening after unpacking we noticed a disturbing sound that seemed to come from the air-conditioning so we called the d... Read more

We loved this hotel. It was like a maze with something exciting with every turn. Great food, nicely presented. Gorgeous rooms, each one different than the next. Friendly and exceptional service the best we've ever had. Raymond was our absolute favourite! We'll be back.

The Pulitzer is a beautiful hotel with attentive friendly staff. The rooms are spacious, clean and well stocked with everything you could need. We got our room for an outstanding price on a travel site, but were still given an upgrade. We didn't have a canal view, but this wasn't expected for the price we had paid, but it didn't affect our enjoyment ... If you want one though and it will bother you,pay for it! The shower in our room was amazing and it was lovely that they provided umbrellas... U... Read more

The Salon Boat "Tourist" is moored right outside of the Hotel Pulitzer. Classic 1909 canal boat that Winston Churchill rode in! Our captain was excellent, gave us information on the history of this classic boat and of Amsterdam itself! He was very professional and helpful when we asked questions! This was exactly what I wanted this time in Amsterdam, I've done the glass top large tourists boats but I wanted a special memory, and Salon Boat Tourist was it! Would I do this again, it was quite ro... Read more

This hotel is perhaps the nicest one I have ever stayed in. The staff are well trained, always courteous, friendly and very helpful. The rooms perfectly appointed with excellent materials. Excellent choice of breakfasts. The only suggestion I might add is that, due to all the ups and downs of the stairs etc...it is not a hotel for anyone unable to walk easily. The many elevators do most of the climbing but there are occasional small stairs to be navigated. carol rose from Paris

The cocktail bar in the Pulitzer hotel is beautifully decorated in deep sophisticated greens and greys, careful lighting keeps the ambiance 'late night' and 'gezellig'. Staff are smart and knowledgable about the drinks they serve (not always the case outside of the US) and the drinks we had were all good. Some interesting cocktail bar furniture such as an absinthe tray etc are unusual curios that add to the feeling. Light jazz was playing when we were here and it was perfect.

I don't quite understand why this hotel isn't higher on the ratings scale. It was absolutely one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had, and we've done quite a bit of traveling. The staff was wonderful, from the bellmen to the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant staff. It was my birthday, and we were lucky enough to have gotten upgraded to an amazing room, thanks to the attention to detail of Ginny at the front desk. Other notable employees: Robert, the concierge, who gave a fa... Read more

The Pulitzer in Amsterdam is THE hotel when visiting the city (for both work and pleasure). Perfect spot, centrally located in the charming Golden Age canals and walking distance from the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, Anne Frank house, shopping area, red light district, the Old Church, the 'Begijnhof' (courtyard of almshouses), etc. Their staff is state-of-the art, very accommodating, friendly and give you the impression as if you're the only person they have to look after. Very rich breakfast,... Read more

We had a suite room overlooking the canal. the living room it was nice and large enough to feel like one of the privileged resident of apartments on the canal. the bedroom was a bit dark though since it was located close by the internal courtyard. the hotel itself is full of surprises with the strange configuration which makes you feel like you are in a maze built with different buildings. The breakfast room is beautiful: bright and cosy overlooking a beautiful tiny road. quality of food is impr... Read more

This qwuirky hotel is simply fantastic with a location second to none. Book it! The staff at this boutique style hotel is SO friendly and knowledgeable and they make you feel special. We arrived well before the stated check in time and our room was ready. The additional bed requested was set up with extra slippers, cookies, water and toiletries. They made us feel like excited hosts. The check in was fast and easy. Our luggage quickly delivered by eager to help staff who described the rooms... Read more

What a fantastic experience. Our room was spacious and gracious, and the bath had a good size shower. We were warned about the hallways being a labyrinth by the staff, but we found they added to the charm of attaching canal houses together, besides the signage throughout the hotel was superb. The bar and restaurant, cannot say enough. Bartenders suggested wonderful local beers, thankfully no Heiniken experience. Our room came with breakfast, we could have the buffet or order off of the menu with... Read more

Best view from front suite. Walked into the room and immediately the canal in front of our picture window, filled with folks and the Gay Pride festivities started. The town was packed, parties everywhere.

Pulitzer Amsterdam did not meet our expectations and did not match the standards of a five-star luxury property, although the price per night is one of the highest in Amsterdam. The staff is friendly and polite but not really well prepared, starting with the front office and concierge staff and ending with the restaurant staff, general lacks of attention, lack of articulation between night and day staff, lack of in-depth knowledge of the neighbourhood and larger city of Amsterdam, among other di... We hadn't been to Amsterdam in many many years, and absolutely loved this place! The rooms are very comfortable, with quirky design that makes them interesting. The location is perfect -- we walked absolutely everywhere. And the concierge staff (and we wound up speaking with about 5 or 6 different folks) were terrific. Every recommendation was spot-on, and they even knew how to navigate the impossibly elusive ticket process for the Anne Frank House, allowing us to find a few released tickets on ... Read more
