We found the hotel in Top 10 Amsterdam and it sounded like our kind of place. We booked on-line directly with the hotel which did not charge us ahead of time. The reception was friendly and we left the bags while we went out for the day. We got good directions on using the tram system and about nearly places to eat. We were delighted when we checked into our room that overlooked the garden where parakeets flitted among the trees. Unlike other nearby places, this place had a large bathtub and tw... Read more

we have stayed there 3 days, 4 people with single rooms. As it is quite expensive, we expected a wonderful hotel: the room are tight, the breakfast is very poor. One of our room was an under-stair cupboard!!!! the sink was outside the bathroom, it was at the fourth floor and extremely hot in May. no air conditioning. I can't imagine how hot it can be in the summer. we booked online: in the website we could choose between smoking or non-smoking rooms. We booked smoking room But when we arrived, ... Read more

Basic but fit for purpose, clean, sweet little garden, lovely helpful staff and fabulous location for walking to the center of things, hotel is on a nice pretty quiet street so perfect. Rooms are small which is to be expected for Amsterdam.

We've stayed in a couple of hotels in Amsterdam near Museumplein and this is the best value for money one we've stayed in the area. The rooms are clean and well-appointed - our bathroom even had two showers! The staff are very friendly and helpful; the buffet breakfast was good quality and offered longer serving hours than a lot of hotels (7.30 am - 10.00 am weekdays and until 10.30 am weekends). The hotel has a lovely courtyard garden at the back and is on a quiet street, just a few minutes'... Read more

Ok so, if you are expecting a 5 star experience don't book it. The PRINSEN HOTEL is a fairly decent hotel to stay in. After all you are in Amsterdam. 1, Are you here to stay in a hotel? 2, again, it is AMSTERDAM anything is expensive comparing to other countries. The air is expensive to breathe. For Goodness sake, they drive TESLA cars for taxis... Did you really think you re gonna get a low fair good deal? Sure, if you book a year or more in advance. Back to the hotel. Staff and owner are very ... Read more

I stayed in this hotel but the experience was terrible because they gave me a small cellar instead of a room and the cellar was bad smelling and noised. However I paid like a true room. Never ever . Not suggested at all. It is true there is a nice garden but this is not enough.

I cannot understand the bad reviews. We have just come back from a week stay at this hotel, the room was an average size room with a 6ft wide double bed a small table either side plus a wardrobe and 2 chairs. There was a small balcony you could sit out on, and there was a flat screen TV. The room was spotless and somebody came every day to make the bed change the towels and clean the bathroom. The food was a continental with a good wide choice of food and drink. The staff were very friendly and ... Read more

My girlfriend and I arrived at the Owl Hotel to find the guy at reception laughing and joking about the mistake he made double booking our room and they had no more space in the hotel. But he'd taken the liberty to book us at a hotel nearby, he mentioned that we would receive a big discount on the room and did apologise to us. However he didn't really seem that bothered and found the whole situation rather hilarious. He walked us to the other hotel opposite. It was called the Prinsen hotel. The ... Read more

When in Amsterdam, stay in Oud West section of the city. Its safe and close to the best museums and Vondelpark. Prinsen hotel has very comfy beds, nice staff, and free breakfast included. Small rooms but all hotels in the old town have small rooms. Good location, a good bed, a good shower and cleanliness is what matters. Prinsen Hotel has all this and a great little patio out back.

My friend and I were considering staying at this hotel in September - we are in Amsterdam for a baptism. To celebrate, I wanted to buy the godmother a massage (she has been quite busy with work and family over the course of the year and so definitely needs some relaxation). I called the hotel this evening thinking perhaps they had someone who visited who could provide massage or might be able to recommend a beauty place/other day spa facilities nearby. The man that answered the phone was extr... Read more

It's in a very pretty, calm, perfectly located neighborhood. The breakfast is great and their garden view restaurant is very cool. The staff is very helpful and friendly. A must stay hotel if you are there in summer.

Nice clean and comfortable rooms. Hospitable and helpful staff. Great connectivity to airport via bus 197. Tram stop is also very close. Vondelpark and the museum square is right next to hotel. It is little outside old city but near enough to reach anywhere quickly.
