Helpful, friendly staff. Room is a bit small but very comfortable. Wooden floors so good for those with allergies. Very well located. Walking distance to major attractions, Voldelpark, bike rental and tram stop. Breakfast was great! Would definitely stay there again.

The NH Amsterdam Centre is located just outside the main canal belt and close to the Museum quarter. Useful tram lines run nearby and can get you to Dam Square in 10 minutes. Canal cruise boats and city sightseeing buses stop less than five minutes walk away. You can walk to the Rijksmuseum in less than 10 minutes and to the Concertgebouw in less than 15. Bus no. 197 to/from Schipol airport stops very close to the hotel as well and at EUR 5 per person per trip this is a fraction of the taxi fare... Read more

Nice hotel situated a 10-15 min walk from the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. It was nice to stay away from the city center, which is so touristy, but there weren't a lot of great restaurants in the area...had to walk 10-20 min to find places that weren't tourist chain restaurants. Hotel was nice and clean. Only complaint is that the wifi signal wasn't strong enough to reach to the far side of our room, which was a bit annoying. Despite this, would stay here again.

The NH Amsterdam Centre hotel is located very well. And the breakfast is affordable and has a nice selection of good food for a good weekend breakfast. But the good hotel experience stops there. It is barely OK for the price. Small rooms, poorely lit. LOnly two outlets for charging. No room in the bathroom to leave personal toiletries for one person. Again, terrible lighting in the bathroom making it hard to see the hand in front of you. Hard beds made it a rough weekend stay. I would not recom... Read more

Good overall experience but it would have been better if checking in and checking out had not been that slow and rather disappointing experiences e.g. people jumping ahead of the queue, slow staff, wrong bill or magnetic keys which did not work (i.e. I had to come downstairs 3 time to change the key before being able to access my room!)

Was in Amsterdam with colleagues from Asia and America for a conference for a few days. The Americans instantly asked for their rooms to be changed because of windows facing onto brick walls and other industrial-looking internal features; the Asians just looked traumatised at how different this experience is from 3-4 star hotels in Singapore or Hong Kong, and then also asked to change their rooms (which to be fair, always seemed possible, and maybe also to be clear is this is not the most expen... This NH hotel is centrally located in the tourist district. The rooms are spacious by European standards and were very clean. The staff is very helpful and all spoke very good English. The breakfast is pricey so don't include it; there are many good places very close by to try for your breakfast. There is a stop for the Amsterdam Airport Hotel Shuttle bus right outside the hotel. This is an easy way to get to and from the airport for only 5 euro each way. Definitely consider NH Amsterdam... Read more

I actually booked my room on tripadvisor which allows free cancellations and had the best price out of any site and was really easy to book directly through them. The rooms were nice and large for Europe and the lobby is very modern and chic with a restaurant. Friendly staff, upgraded us when the thermostat in our first room was not working. We stayed at the NH Amsterdam Centre for 4 nights. I'm originally from Amsterdam so I know the city well and had chosen the hotel largely because of its location. The room itself was very good, large with a sensible lay-out. The bathroom was pretty good too, although it suffered from the fact that it has one of those 'suicide' showers over a slippery plastic bath, which was hazardous to manoeuvre... why oh why do hotels insist on having bathtubs instead of large walk in showers?! This hotel is well located but not in what I would consider to be the most vibrant area (around the railway station). Nevertheless there is plenty of activity and eating outlets within a very short distance of the hotel. It is also within an easy and interesting walk of the flower market. It was about a 30 mins walk (level and easy) from the hotel to the railway station area. Alternatively, there are regular trams running. Check-in and baggage handling were very easy and efficient. The rooms are ok even if the hotel is a little tired. My biggest issue was with the internet. We were in town for a tech conference and ensured internet availability before we came. Once we got there we could not use the free wifi and paid 10 Euros a day for upgraded WiFi. Even the upgrade WiFi was shocking and I ended up using the data package on my phone. Really upset me. Spacious, clean rooms in a modern hotel next to tram lines makes this a great choice. A very quiet hotel. The staff are excellent, helpful and informed. Trams take you to museums in the city, or to the train station for the short journey to the Anne Frank Museum. The breakfast was a bit pricey so we went about 100 meters to an organic cafe that had great breakfasts, for a nice price in a much more comfortable setting.

We were also given 4 breakfasts but unfortunately were not nice at all, and would have been very disappointed to have paid 22 euros. All in all it was a lovely stay, and the beds... Read more

While the hotel is well located for visiting the centre of Amsterdam, or like in my case attending a business event, I was this time somewhat disappointed by the quality and value for money. The bed was too old and not firm enough, even with single occupancy, and one of the window handles had been removed and the window did not appear to be fully closed, letting in noise from the street. The airco works fine but when you switch it off, the room heats up very quickly. This is not only uncomfortab... Read more

First of all this is my second time at this hotel and it was even better this time. I had e-mailed the hotel in advance to check that they got my reservation because this was my wedding anniversary trip and didn't want any screw ups. The second they heard we where celebrating they pulled all the stops. Lot's of rose pedals bottle of Cava upgraded room it was heaven. Hotel is located in the center so it doesn't get any better. Staff is super friendly and will do anything to make sure u are happy.... Read more

The staff is very helpful and professional and is the highlight of this establishment. The rooms are dated and worn. The restaurant is very nice with a complete yet overpriced breakfast/brunch. The location is central to public transportation.

Nice hotel, and, once moved to an acceptable room, overall a very pleasant stay. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Great location. Would be happy to stay there again in the future. Good facilities too

I spent 5 days at the hotel and have nothing bad to say about it. The staff was very helpful and pleasant, the room was comfortable and the location was spot on! Overall it was a great stay and I will definitely stay there again next time I visit (which is annually)

Rooms small but adequate well appointed ,Air conditioning iron and ironing board hairdryer . Bed firm and pillows not great but they suited my partner just not for me .really bad smell on the first floor corridor we assumed it was throughout the hotel but when we got in the lift on our last night to a few more floors they all smelt fine ? If we had known this we would have asked to move to another floor .. staff really pleasant and helpful . Overall a pleasant stay

Loved the hotel. Stayed for my birthday and will definitely come back again. It is located near leidsplein which is great for parties and club nights. Also bus stops to the airport come right outside. staff are very friendly and will help as best they can always.

I've stayed here numerous times, all fine, this one a disaster. Room 632's toilet is between the standup shower wall and the sink. One has the total room of the toilet to sit with a shower wall to the left and the sink wall on the right. Add to that NO HOT WATER on two mornings, and the massive construction in the Lidesplien area, this one is best to avoid. Really has gone downhill since I last stayed.

This hotel is perfect for a short break in Amsterdam. Its located nicely away from the red light district but central enough to walk to anywhere. Right near the museums and Heineken Experience. The room was spacious, clean and the staff couldnt have been more helpful.

Stayed here three nights. Hotel is modern, and staff are very friendly. We didn't have breakfast included but there is a great little crepe/pancake place opposite hotel. Very central to bars and restaurants in local square, vondelpark is 2 mins away. And museum area is 5-10 min walk. Very easy to walk into central amsterdam too. If you are staying in this hotel and coming from airport the 197 bus from airport costs 5 euro one way and gets you right to front door of hotel.

Great Hotel! you get a true value for your money, The staff is very professional and the location is outstanding The hotel is within walking distance from the Hard Rock, Casino, Apple store and recommended restaurants. I see no reason to pay more and be closer to the Dam . Big Like!

Great stay, ideal location, Airport Bus (#197) stops outsite of hotel. Only 5-6 minutes from Dam Square using Tram (1.2 or 5). Amsterdam is a little expensive, avoid show opposite hotel, small water cost ?2.50, you can get it cheaper need the tram stop. Do get an iAmsterdam card, free tram travel and entry into many museums etc. we got 72 hour card (cost ?72, with our discount) went all over even to the Zoo. If your into gambling, Holland Casino is just across the road, went there on my b... Read more

This hotel breakfast is great, the croissants and the apple turnovers killed me everytime. The staff is very nice and welcoming and the chef is super friendly! After a couple of days he already knew what type of eggs my family wanted and would bring them to us, taking special requests too. Otherwise, the location is great, my favourite street in Amsterdam is a couple of roads away- Handboogstrat. Cool coffee shop, tasty meat resturant and very fun bar for drinks!
