Helpful, friendly staff. Room is a bit small but very comfortable. Wooden floors so good for those with allergies. Very well located. Walking distance to major attractions, Voldelpark, bike rental and tram stop. Breakfast was great! Would definitely stay there again.

The NH Amsterdam Centre is located just outside the main canal belt and close to the Museum quarter. Useful tram lines run nearby and can get you to Dam Square in 10 minutes. Canal cruise boats and city sightseeing buses stop less than five minutes walk away. You can walk to the Rijksmuseum in less than 10 minutes and to the Concertgebouw in less than 15. Bus no. 197 to/from Schipol airport stops very close to the hotel as well and at EUR 5 per person per trip this is a fraction of the taxi fare... Read more

Nice hotel situated a 10-15 min walk from the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. It was nice to stay away from the city center, which is so touristy, but there weren't a lot of great restaurants in the area...had to walk 10-20 min to find places that weren't tourist chain restaurants. Hotel was nice and clean. Only complaint is that the wifi signal wasn't strong enough to reach to the far side of our room, which was a bit annoying. Despite this, would stay here again.

The NH Amsterdam Centre hotel is located very well. And the breakfast is affordable and has a nice selection of good food for a good weekend breakfast. But the good hotel experience stops there. It is barely OK for the price. Small rooms, poorely lit. LOnly two outlets for charging. No room in the bathroom to leave personal toiletries for one person. Again, terrible lighting in the bathroom making it hard to see the hand in front of you. Hard beds made it a rough weekend stay. I would not recom... Read more

Good overall experience but it would have been better if checking in and checking out had not been that slow and rather disappointing experiences e.g. people jumping ahead of the queue, slow staff, wrong bill or magnetic keys which did not work (i.e. I had to come downstairs 3 time to change the key before being able to access my room!)

Was in Amsterdam with colleagues from Asia and America for a conference for a few days. The Americans instantly asked for their rooms to be changed because of windows facing onto brick walls and other industrial-looking internal features; the Asians just looked traumatised at how different this experience is from 3-4 star hotels in Singapore or Hong Kong, and then also asked to change their rooms (which to be fair, always seemed possible, and maybe also to be clear is this is not the most expen... This NH hotel is centrally located in the tourist district. The rooms are spacious by European standards and were very clean. The staff is very helpful and all spoke very good English. The breakfast is pricey so don't include it; there are many good places very close by to try for your breakfast. There is a stop for the Amsterdam Airport Hotel Shuttle bus right outside the hotel. This is an easy way to get to and from the airport for only 5 euro each way. Definitely consider NH Amsterdam... Read more

I actually booked my room on tripadvisor which allows free cancellations and had the best price out of any site and was really easy to book directly through them. The rooms were nice and large for Europe and the lobby is very modern and chic with a restaurant. Friendly staff, upgraded us when the thermostat in our first room was not working. We stayed at the NH Amsterdam Centre for 4 nights. I'm originally from Amsterdam so I know the city well and had chosen the hotel largely because of its location. The room itself was very good, large with a sensible lay-out. The bathroom was pretty good too, although it suffered from the fact that it has one of those 'suicide' showers over a slippery plastic bath, which was hazardous to manoeuvre... why oh why do hotels insist on having bathtubs instead of large walk in showers?! This hotel is well located but not in what I would consider to be the most vibrant area (around the railway station). Nevertheless there is plenty of activity and eating outlets within a very short distance of the hotel. It is also within an easy and interesting walk of the flower market. It was about a 30 mins walk (level and easy) from the hotel to the railway station area. Alternatively, there are regular trams running. Check-in and baggage handling were very easy and efficient. The rooms are ok even if the hotel is a little tired. My biggest issue was with the internet. We were in town for a tech conference and ensured internet availability before we came. Once we got there we could not use the free wifi and paid 10 Euros a day for upgraded WiFi. Even the upgrade WiFi was shocking and I ended up using the data package on my phone. Really upset me. Spacious, clean rooms in a modern hotel next to tram lines makes this a great choice. A very quiet hotel. The staff are excellent, helpful and informed. Trams take you to museums in the city, or to the train station for the short journey to the Anne Frank Museum. The breakfast was a bit pricey so we went about 100 meters to an organic cafe that had great breakfasts, for a nice price in a much more comfortable setting.

Situated ideally for the main city centre which is walkable, nearby for the canals and has discounted cycles. Conveniently the bus stop for the 197 airport express b... Read more

Well located and well presented hotel. On arrival we were upgraded to a superior room (as were our friends) which was a pleasant surprise-thank you. Unfortunately the room we were given was not cleaned properly and a return to reception was necessary. However having explained the issues, the very pleasant and efficient staff moved us immediately and without fuss to a suite on the 7th floor. Not expected but very pleasant outcome and most grateful. Hotel is clean and well presented. Locatio... Read more

Very nice hotel with a perfect location. The rooms are large and well-designed and well-appointed, with very comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms, and lovely bath products. I had a great view, but heard absolutely nothing from outside, although it was a busy area.

The Good - great location - 2 minute walk to a main tram stop or a food market, 5 minute walk to restaurants/cafes/bars/shopping, 15 minute walk to the center area - easy/fast check-in - clean, fairly spacious rooms (bathroom is small) - TV signal/HD channels was excellent for a European hotel (plenty of English channels and really good HD signals) - Great options in the mini-bar The Bad - Not a great view out the window (an alley and what seemed like a junk yard) - Hoffible WiFI - free, but ext... My husband had to fly to Amsterdam to attend a yearly board meeting, so this year I decided to tag along so we could also celebrate our 25th anniversary..... His company prefers this hotel and I can see why! The location is PERFECT! The area is incredibly clean and very safe with numerous restaurants, shops, and just a short walk to the Rijks and Van Gogh museums. The hotel itself is very clean, modern and welcoming. The staff is always very friendly. The rooms are clean and comfy. Linens sof... Read more

The hotel is very well located, the room was big and had a very nice view. They made us a free upgrade and welcomed us very kindly. It is near the museums area and a minute walk to shops and canals. I´d stay again in this hotel in my next visit to Amsterdam and totally recommend it. Breakfast very complete!!

What a lovely hotel. Very clean, lovely helpful staff. Happy to store our luggage before and after checkout. Central for most things and easily accessible by train and tram from airport. I recommend the 3 day travel card for ?25. Allows you to jump on a tram, train or bus.

Rooms were old and do not justify a price above 160EUR per night....max 70EUR Location was extremely good. Reception staff was unfriendly and pretty slow. They even told us that checkin was only possible after 15:00, but it was already 10 past. Would not recommend this hotel and I travel quite often almost every week.

+ Good service. Great breakfast. Good location close to restaurants and things to do. Minibar, iron, air condition, hair dryer in room. - Hotel room could have been better cleaned since it was quiet dusty. Bed was a bit hard.

It is a very nice hotel, modern, everything looks new, very well located, just walking distance from the center of Amsterdam, restaurants nearby. The staff is very helpful and polite. There is just a bus and tram station in front of the hotel. the price of the hotel is very reasonable. At night, there is no noise and I was able to sleep very well. I will definitely come back.

I recently visited Amsterdam with two other couples and we all stayed at the NH Amsterdam. The welcome was perfect, we arrived very early and they stored our cases for us and see to this right away. Fresh flavoured fruit water was available constantly in reception and there was many reception staff on duty to help as well which was nice to see. The bar area and restaurant were lovely, clean, modern and the rooms were perfect for what we needed but some may think they were a little on the sm... Read more

We stayed at NH for one week. The location was perfect for us as our daughter and family lived nearby. The rooms were comfortable enough, the staff very nice. I would definitely stay here again. One nice feature was that we were allowed to check in at 8:30 am, for a fee, but it was a benefit after a long flight.

The location of the hotel is very good. Only walking distance and also the bus stop from /to airport is located in front of the hotel. The hotel does not have coin laundry (self laundry). You can have wifi in the room (fee was included in the room rate).

Location is the best part about this hotel.. It's just on the edge of the canal ring so it's not too busy or noisy but close enough that you can be in the heart of the city in a 5min walk.. Rooms are basic but all we needed for a long weekend of sight seeing..

The hotel is centrally located only a few minutes walk from the Central Station, with short access to the famous areas around. The room was very nice, spotless clean and well isolated as we didn`t experience any disturbance from the traffic around. Excellent breakfast buffet with a good variety and polite personnel. All in all a memorable stay.
