Our room was excellent. Only issue was the air conditioner wouldn't get cool enough for us and we had to open the window to cool the room down. Talked with the front desk several times to be sure we were setting the thermostat correctly and the third time we checked with them, they said that there is a central heating/cooling system and the thermostat in the room will only change the temperature by a few degrees either way. The staff was very helpful, spoke excellent English. Gave us good dire... Read more

The service and hotel was excellent. Very clean and modern. The only thing missing was a pool and the terrasse would have been nice on the other side (sunset). Bike rental was great and comvenient to visit the beach. Without it is a little far from everything else quite isolated. Would book again.

This hotel is in the middle of no where and you can't even reach it easily if you go out from the highway, price much to high for this kind of place and the rooms are small really small. This looks more like a ibis then a Hilton it's a abuse of the name Hilton to make these kinds of hotels

Hilton Garden Inn Leiden is a neat, efficient and attractive property. We booked family rooms which had 3rd sofa bed in addition to the double bed. The rooms we got were decent sized rooms with the standard amenities. The breakfast spread is quite good too. The staff was very helpful and provided excellent service. The only minus was the location. It does not show on GPRS easily and in spite of being very close to the highway, the access is not very easy.

This is a hotel that gets everything right, from check-in, to check-out. Everyone who works there is extremely happy to help. It's the ideal combination of professional service with a human (and good-humoured) touch. It's a bit away from the centre of Leiden (right next door to the CORPUS exhibition - handy if you are trying to find it), but if you like a pleasant walk, it's about 20 minutes, probably about 10 by bicycle (bicycles must outnumber cars in Leiden by 10:1). Stayed one night over. Hotel has all you can expect from a Hilton as well as a good few on the small village Katwijk aan Zee. Rooms are big. We stayed in the weekend and it looks like all staff are trainees. The booked room by Internet was not available (which has most probably nothing to do with Hilton) but the staff did react as 'the computer says no', extra bed was brought to room but no extra towels etc. normally you expect a kind of compensation. Hotel is a bit far from city centrum and next to highway . Not in the day but at the night a bit noisy. Breakfast was fine expect reception told us inc. to our reservation but check out time we had to pay. She said sorry this was my mistake but anyway se said ' I am sorry this is my mistake but I cannot do anything you have to pay sir ' this was not something we use to see in other Hiltons. I send letter to hotel directions about the stuation ( 2 times ) but never get answer until today.

I stayed in this hotel when I attended a conference in University of Leiden. Since local public transport services are very good, I enjoyed my short bus journey to the City Centre of Leiden from a bus stop just outside the hotel. It only cost me 2 euro. The hotel has a small but well-equipped gym on the top floor. This is one of the reasons why I decided to stay in this hotel. I do recommend that you try a cheese omelette at breakfast, which was extremely good!

The Hotel Staff and the rooms are inviting. Cleanliness is also up to the Hilton Brand mark. The Breakfast served is of variety and if you have food restrictions (like me being a vegetarian) the staff does ensure that they can help you with some option at the least. They remember you if you are a regular traveler and that gives it a personal touch to the hospitality. We stayed here for two days for a festival in Katwijk aan zee because all the local hotels their had been booked. We found the staff lovely and food perfect. The room was a good size and beds comfortable so all perfect. I would recommend this hotel but preferred to be closer in Leinden as the costs of Taxis seem high! Having said that we found the bus was just as convenient and only a five minuet walk.

Nice place to stay BUT a bit off the center of Leiden. On the other side bikes are for rent and a taxi into town is just about 15 Euros. A business hotel with all you need, good sleeping comfort. Well thought-through room lighting: cozy if you want it, but also well lit if you need to do some work in your room.

Location: The hotel is situated next to the A44 highway. The only close attraction is the CORPUS museum/learning center. It's about 15 mins by car to the center of Leiden or 10 mins walk to the bus stop to go towards Leiden or Katwijk aan Zee. I believe that there is a shuttle service to Leiden. Check-in: No wait and since I did an online check-in, I did not have to wait long. This Hilton property was on the list of participating hotels, and it fitted my travel plans in the Netherlands very well. Great place to tour the Hague and visit Lieden (no car required), Amsterdam, Delft, Gouda etc. with a car or public transport, which is way more efficient than its UK equivalent. We had a car so did not use public transport. We did not use the trains, but understand the service is good, but think (not sure) a card of some type may be required, you cant enter the stations without a card or ticket. Great hotel. Clean, spacious and quiet room at the back of the hotel. Good breakfast. Nice, friendly staff who speak very good English and make you feel welcome. One down side was that the hotel is a little too far out the centre to walk comfortably, so you can soon start spending plenty of Euro's on public transport as there are no travel cards available to buy in Leiden. As long as you are aware and prepared for this then it should be no issue.....!

The HGI is a very cost efficient option for your stay in Leiden. It sits 8 min or so from the Central Station and served by a bus whose stop is less than 100 m (about 100 yds) from the hotel. On a typical day buses run twice an hour. There is another bus stop some 8 min walking from the hotel, with additional bus line options. Don't pay attention to those who say that it'd be better if the hotel were closer to downtown. (After all, don't you look in a map where your hotel is before making your r... Read more

Nice hotel but you need to take a bus to get anywhere from the location, or 20 minutes walk to the center. Breakfast is good and fresh. Bathroom doesn't have a bath that would be a small minus there. And one more thing to add, you have a "city tax" that is not included and you're charged per person per day, that was just a bad surprise at the end.
