If you want to stay outside of the hustle and bustle of beautiful Amsterdam, then this is your location. However, don't let the drive up to the hotel mislead you. Once inside the hotel you feel transformed. All the pictures are taken from the back of the hotel which overlooks the canal. Definitely book a room with a view of the canal. Most everything is walkable from the hotel (Van Gogh, Rijks etc) and if not then they have bikes. We did cab it to the Anne Frank Museum, since it was a litt... Read more

Lovely hotel, good service and nice bar and patio area on the canal. Bar food excellent, if you go for the Dutch toastie, share one between two as its massive, although in quite neighbour not too far from museam square it's gives you some quiet time from the hustle and bustle of this beautiful city. Taxis into Rembrandt square about 20 euros which is reasonable for a party of 4. Rooms spacious complete with robes, slippers and plenty of towels and toileries, mini bar a little expensive.

We arrived in Amsterdam a couple of days before departing on a Viking cruise down the Rhine river. We arrived around 10:30 at the hotel. The front-desk person was very friendly and accommodating. They had our room ready ahead of their normal check-in time. Our room was on the fourth floor overlooking the city and canal. The view from our room was very nice. The room interior is very modern, clean, and quiet. The electrical service in our room was 220 so if you are from the US you will nee... Read more

Rooms were clean and offered turn down service.. Location is great and near nice restaurants, shopping and beautiful vondelpark for walks/runs.. You can also easily walk to the old town and other shopping areas. I've stayed at the doubletree close by and this hotel is much better. You can also sit outside by the canal for an evening... The location of this hotel is very good. Close to Museum Square. A very nice park, shops and places to eat are nearby. The rooms are clean but rather small. They do provide a hair dryer, which came in handy. Internet works well. Don't expect fast service, though. Room service is great.

I was initially concerned about the distance of the Hilton from the city center, until I got here and walked to the center the first time. Its roughly 2.5 miles, but if you have good walking shoes and can handle it, its the way to go. Its also the way to go back at the end of the day....because you walk off all the food and drink of the day! The hotel is situated in a beautiful, quiet and what appears to be affluent area. It reminds me of the Upper East side of NY. We got a junior suite and... Read more

I enjoyed my stay here. A solid Hilton hotel with a beautiful view of the canal. I walked to the RAI which took about 25 minutes and also to the Van Gogh museum. My room was comfortable and had all of the standard amenities. I did not eat in the restaurant so can't speak to the quality of the food.

We loved our stay at this Hilton. It is away from the main tourist areas in a nice residential area. We found the walk to the Museum Plein area to be about 10-15 minutes and was an enjoyable walk. A number of good restaurants nearby. We were upgraded to a suite that was wonderful! We also had access to the Executive Lounge that served drinks for a couple of hours in the evening. The Hilton Amsterdam does not front on some famous canal. Instead, a small canal creates a pleasant backdrop to the outdoor section of the Hotel Cafe. That quirky charm is typical for this slightly off the beaten track.property. Another quirky charm is that this hotel is ideal for walkers. Five blocks and you are at the Concertgebouw, and at the beginning of Museum Square, which includes the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and several other cultural attractions. I dined at Roberto's on three occasions and it was always an incredible experience - and the sommelier was world-class. I stayed for 6 nights and the staff throughout the hotel knew my name. Don't use hotel website's directions to get from the airport to the hotel. Instead simply take the airport tram which drops you off much closer. Hotel staff is great. Very helpful. We are Hilton Honors members so had free wifi and access to Executive lounge. Breakfast and dinner were perfect and more than enough. Extremely clean. Room was fine - typical Hotel room. Trams are easy to figure out with helpful directions from hotel staff. Will stay here again.

Loved our two night stay at Hilton Amsterdam before a Viking River Cruise. Lovely bar area behind the restaurant overlooks a small canal. Nice spot for a relaxing drink after a busy day. Extensive breakfast buffet was very good. Nice bathroom - loved the towels and the huge bathtub. We rented bikes from the hotel - might have been able to get them cheaper elsewhere but it was convenient and they were nice bikes which were easily adjustable.

Always friendly people at the door, behind the lobby and at the bar. Location at the waterfront is gorgeous when the weather is good.

I stayed at the Hilton for 4 nights on business travel. I was there for a conference and the room rate was 285 Euro which I thought was very expensive. The staff is wonderful and very friendly, from check-in, housekeeping, to restaurant staff. I had a great room with a canal view. It was roomy and comfortable. About two block around the corner from the hotel is a tram stop and another block or so from there are several restaurants. If you get a good rate, this is a great hotel to stay.

Most of the room touches look a bit dated, but everything was solid, functional and the wifi/TV was good. There's a great brunch area and patio overlooking a canal where jazz bands and other performers set up for Happy Hour and special occasions. We loved the Amsterdam Hilton and would definitely stay there next time we're in Amsterdam. The location is very nice, close to everything, but still quiet. Our room had a beautiful view of the canal. The brunch was excellent. The rooms were very nice as well. Erik (the concierge) was very helpful to our family on multiple occasions. He was always very friendly and went out of his way to assist us and make our stay here more enjoyable. He is a great employee!

An older hotel, but well maintained with a welcoming and friendly staff. Having just come off a cruise, we arrived very early. Every effort was made to get our room ready as soon as possible. While we waited we were treated to a lovely breakfast then toured the executive lounge on the top floor. By 10:00 am our room was upgraded to a Jr.Suite and we were settled in. On Sunday we went to the flea market there. The included breakfast had everything. We will stay again!

We had a cannel view room on the 8th floor. Clean spacious room with a comfortable cot for our baby. Breakfast was good quality and plentiful. The coffee was good. Plenty of staff around and a chef walking around serving special items which I thought was a nice touch. We loved the bar, we enjoyed a drink by the roaring fire before we headed out of the evening. In a taxi I'd say it is about 20mins with a flat rate of 35 euros. The hotel is not central, but the district that it is in is ... Read more

Disappointment started at check in, when a vey stern woman (Helena) forgot to say hello, asked for our passports and handed us the keys in 20 seconds. Only when I asked about lounge access (it was an executive suite) she raised an eyebrow as if questioning that a brown boy could stay there? and she re-made new keys and reluctantly told us how to access the lounge (which we never visited in the end but for breakfast, which was average). Second problem was that the TV system in the whole hotel ... Read more

Is it really 9 years since we last stayed here ? It seems like just a couple of years ago that the Exec Lounge hostess recommended that we go to see Afrika Afrika - which was a hugely memorable experience. Anyway, on Channel 1 on the in-house TV, they have the normal corporate ad proclaiming the latest sound-bite "making every guest feel special and valued". Well, I have to say that they thoroughly live up to the ideal at this hotel. A bottle of bubbly and a birthday cake was sent to our room... Read more

My wife and I stayed once again at the Amsterdam Hilton for 2 nights. The Hilton staff was exceptionally helpful and courageous. The room was very comfortable and clean. We used the executive lounge which was very pleasant with nice snacks and beverages. For the first time we had dinner at Roberto's restaurant which was a very pleasant experience with excellent cuisine. We very highly recommend the Amsterdam Hilton when visiting Amsterdam. The hotel is slightly away from the center of town but ... Read more

Classy hotel with friendly service where business travelers or holiday makers can rest after a long day. Most attractions are within walking distance or within 10 min by tram, bus or bicycle. Good catering and a bar good for a conversation over sundowners.

This was our 3rd time back at the Amsterdam Hilton and as with the 2 times before my wife and I were extremely pleased with the entire facility. The hospitality from making a reservation with the hotel direct, to check in, to entire 2 day stay, to check out was first class in every way. We will return to the Amsterdam Hilton on our next visit to Europe.

This is one of the top Hilton hotels in my experience, with impeccably maintained facilities, expert, friendly staff who cannot do enough to help. It is located on a pretty canal in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of places to have quiet walks among pretty gardens and great architecture. Our room was on the 8th floor (821) and had a fantastic view of the canal and city. With a large bathroom and modern conveniences, we were extremely comfortable. The air conditionng is very effective and re... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights on business. As a diamond HHons, I was upgraded to an exec King room which was very comfortable and well thought out. However it could stand some modernisation in terms of the furnishings and particularly in the bathroom. A plastic shower curtain is not acceptable in a hotel of this calibre. The other and more serious problem for me was the hardness of the bed. As someone who sleeps on a softish mattress, I felt that it was like lying on a bed of bricks and it truly did ... Read more

Best thing about this modern hotel is that it is located away from the city center in a quiet neighborhood of Amsterdam. Tram stops are nearby (3 minutes) , so going to the city center is easy. It has modern and decent sized rooms, modern bathroom with excellent water pressure and nice fittings; a nice and large lobby. Another great thing about the hotel is that it has a bar in the lobby level, overlooking the canal offering a beautiful and scenic view, with a few boats moored at the bank. Break... Read more

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Hilton Amsterdam in mid Nov 2016. We were given a room on the 9th Floor (highest guest level) with a lovely view of the canal. As Hilton Honors Diamond we were upgraded and had access to the executive lounge. The lounge is quite small so you need to grab a seat by 5.30pm before the 6pm drinks and food. Food and drinks are available all day and the alcohol and food offerings were plentiful and high quality. The hotel is 3 in walk to a tram stop that will take y... Read more

Having recently spent 2 nights here with my girlfriend we were pleasantly impressed by not only the hotel itself but also every member of staff we encountered. Although certainly not a cheap stay, certainly worth it.

We've stayed as a couple at Hilton hotels all over Europe and never been disappointed either by the service or quality. However travelling as a mixed age party of ten for a 21st birthday celebration I thought we might test Hilton's ability to delight its customers. Not so. We arrived very early and my daughter was ill from travelling - they found her a room so she could check-in early and rest. They also surprised my other daughter with flowers, champagne and cake on the day of her birthday - lo... Read more

I could not help but praise my recent experience, staying at the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam. The position of the hotel, in Apollolaan was great - quiet, clean, and surrounded by lovely Amsterdam houses, but easy walking distance to the centre. But what made the real difference were the staff, all of them, from the courteous doorman, the reception desk, to the dinning room staff. We had dinner at "Roberto's " , where the staff were extremely helpful, and the dinner great! Great service, and lovely... Read more

When we arrived the lady at the reception had no time for us, because she was discussing with an costumer that she cannot give him the email adress or the direct telephone number from the Hotel Manager. We had to stand there for about 5min and wait till she stopped fighting with this guy on the other side of the line. It was a bit... disturbing. Anyway... the rooms are not real small but not big either. Like I said already, a usual standard size. Everything is in its place and the furniture as ... Read more

My husband and I have been to Amsterdam on a 3 night break to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Apollolaan and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The concierge was extremely knowlegeable and helpful even speaking to our airport transfer taxi service to ensure we were picked up at the correct time when leaving. Location is quiet and lots of little shops just over the bridge, but far from the main attractions if your only in Amsterdam for a few days I would not recommend this location. you have to take the tram or bus 20minutes to get into town. on the plus side - staff are great and breakfast was in...
