Location was good, a very short walk from Centraal station. Reception staff were excellent as were Guest Services staff. We had an issue with our credit card and after much persistence Lisanne ( sorry if misspelt ) managed to sort it, she was brilliant. The same cannot be said for the very rude lady in the Skylounge - don't go here if you want good service - it was appalling. We walked out after waiting at least 15 mins to be served at the bar - when I complained to the lady (tall, dark hair) sh... Read more

A characterless corporate room had already made it one of the worst value for money stays we've had. I had chosen a room on line but on arrival was told it was not available but I could have an identical one a floor below. When I got to the room it did not have a room like the one I had chosen. Returning to reception I was told that the room I had chosen did not have a view either, but it had definitely stated city view, not courtyard, when I chose it. This, however, was as nothing to the noise l... Read more

We booked this hotel pretty last minute but were well accommodated and were even given a free upgrade to a river view. Upon arrival the friendly staff offer you delicious warm chocolate cookies that were just amazing. The room itself had modern decor, with a hint of Art Deco. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The hotel was situated right next to the train station, and was close walking distance to all main attractions, including the Red Light District the van Gogh museum ... Read more

Decided to go in the Hilton with friends whilst in Amsterdam and try the Sky Lounge which at first I thought might be a bit pretentious and cause me to start windmilling a few people. I was pleasantly surprised at how wrong I was - it must just be in Manchester with the stuck up clientele. Anyway, once we had ordered a few Vedett's which were a bit pricey (but worth it), we went out onto the terrace which over looked most of Amsterdam, which was absolutely breath taking and a bit surreal. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Restaurant on top is worth a drink just for the view of Amsterdam. Take advantage of the bike rental offered by the hotel and experience the city as it is meant to be seen. Breakfast is very good and oh those waffles. If you are looking for a fun three or four days this is a great spot to make your home base.

Stayed at this hotel for business purposes. Location is great. Starbucks just down the lobby. Breakfast quality and selection was awesome as well. I like the fact that they provide bottled water and fresh green apples at the lobby for the guests. Will recommend to stay at this hotel for business or leisure alike.

Friendly welcome from receptionist who suggested we upgrade to Executive Club level, which we did! The room was very ordinary, with very basic amenities and towels in bathroom were definitely passed their use by date. Pillows on bed had also seen better days. The "Executive Club" should be renamed executive cafeteria at best. Breakfast was acceptable but service non existent. Also room service is not an option we would choose again. We booked an executive room with balcony which we expected to be of high spec but it was small and basic in furnishings for the price. The bathroom was also small with no bath and the toilet was dirty when we arrived. This was rectified quickly when we complained. The towels were small and thin. We would expect thick bath sheets in a room of this cost. This hotel is close to the cruise ships, canals, city centre etc. rooms are very comfy, staff always available to assist, breakfast is very good but the best is the Sky Lounge, wow the views, drinks and food a little expensive but the service is worth the price.

Yesterday my friend and I had lunch in the Sky bar of this hotel. This lunch was so poor, a real waste of our money. We had bread with topings and a club sandwich. I strongly believe that both were made from the leftovers of the hotel breakfast. Really embarassing to serve a club without fresh grilled chicken for that price. Instead they served chicken slices you normally have for breakfast. Also the toppings with the bread were so poor and over priced. The only great things was the view.

Typical Doubletree Hotel in Amsterdam. No surprises. Great location and employees. Employees were very helpful and cheerful. Bottled water given out in lobby was a very nice feature as it was hot when we were there. Hotel really close to Central Station and the main part of town. Overall, highly recommend this hotel primarily due to location and the attentiveness of the staff.

As this was my first trip to Amsterdam me and my friend booked this hotel after seeing quite a few people we know had stayed there. All staff were lovely and friendly welcoming us. The warm cookie at check in is a fab unique thing to do too. The room was spotless and everything you'd need was there to hand. The iMac was great too even just for radio. We ordered room service which arrived very quick. Would definitely recommend this hotel & will be back in the future X

Stayed here enjoying a weekend in Amsterdam with friends. The hotel was clean, and the check-in staff extremely efficient. Wet weather on the Friday meant we were a little reluctant to venture out too late, so we visited the Skylounge bar on the 11th floor and stayed until 3am! In truth we didn't really trouble the staff unduly, and ate out so cannot comment on the restaurant. But the little things like internet provided in the rooms really helped us make the most of our visit.

My husband and I spent five nights at this hotel. I requested a king size bed with executive room access, but but the female desk clerk said we could have a king size bed without executive room access. The DoubleTree hotel is located in a fascinating area. If your window shows the boat's traffic, you will be interested in seeing how Amsterdam is incredibly water-oriented. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. The lobby is very nice and modern, and can get very busy. There is a bar, restaurant, and Starbucks all connected to the lobby. We stayed in hilton for couple of knights. In general we loved the place. It has great standard of service. The room was also very luxury and stylish. Ticks all the boxes of quiet, modern, great service and plenty of food options. Slept very well. The location is worth of a special note: right next to Centraal Station. Do yourself a favour and avoid the taxi touts at the airport and grab the train. It cost less than EUR 9 for a first class ticket (about 1 quarter of a regular taxi) and took half the time. Thanks to the staff - very friendly and helpful. Did I mention to avoid the taxi touts? They wear fake offical uniforms so if you rea... Read more

The best hotel I have been so far. I'm going for company trips few times a year, mostly Europe and North America and this hotel is the best so far. Night was £165 with my company's discount rate, so not the cheapest, but the view from the rooftop bar is amazing! Rooms was great, bathroom very modern. Everything superb. The breakfast is £25 and this I wouldn't recommend as this is quite expensive and nothing special, but apart of that awesome!!!

very convenient hotel, friendly staff. 5-10 mins walk from Centraal Station, so you can take one train straight from the airport. everything from food to the "red light district" to shopping, all walking distance. don't waste money of day pass if you're new in Amsterdam, bus transit is very confusing and since the most you'll be walking is about 35 mins from the hotel to the I Amsterdam sign.

The hotel is in perfect location. Staff is exceptional. I got executive queen bed room and while it is nice, it is rather small. Two people with not a lot of luggage would be comfortable there. My wife and I stayed at Double Tree by Hilton ahead of a river cruise with Scenic. My rating of "Average" is based on the fact that the room was more "compact" than expected and at 3 pm when we checked in, we were informed our room was not ready. Given the cost of the accommodation, having travelled all day and being a member of the Hilton's loyalty program, we expected better service and value for money so we stayed at the check-in counter until a room was found.
