I would have given this hotel a 4/5 rating if not for the horrible front desk employee at check in, which completely ruined my experience. Arriving around 9.45 am after an exhausting drive we were told that we couldn't check in until 3 pm. When my husband informed whether there'd be a possibility for an earlier check in we were repeatedly told that many other people were waiting for a room and the official check-in time is 3 pm. Sure, this can happen but from a 5* hotel I'd expect to be offered ... Read more

We chose Amsterdam for a weekend break at this hotel It is situated near to the tram network which takes you to the heart of the city The hotel is comfortable with excelllant cheerful staff who are prepared to go the extra mile to make the stay a pleasure like offering an umbrella when the weather was not so good.. The only disappointment was the cost of the breakfast but we found an excellant cafe just 10 minutes walk away so all was ok!

As this is a 5 star hotel I expected a bit better. It isn't bad, but is a little bit worn in places and needs some renovation. The facilities are OK, the staff are very friendly and helpful although the service was rather erratic and slow at times. The location is ideal for driving to from out of town and then taking the trams into the city centre. It is in a good area with some nice shops and cafés nearby. The cooked breakfast was not very good. It was overcooked and most of the ingredients w... Read more

Excellent hotel in Amsterdam. Very well situated, close to the tram that takes you straigh on to the city center in few minutes. It has also a private parking, so that is very usefull when arriving by car: you do not need to get the center of the city by car, which is quite complicated in a city like Amsterdam. The hotel is very quiet and is located in a very quiet place. The room service is very good and the room is very comfortable, specially the bed, whith a really good matelas.

We had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. Having never been to Amsterdam previously I had no idea where to book. I did know that I didn't want to be it the crazy, busy downtown area, but within easy reach. The Bilderberg Garden Hotel was perfect for this. There are 2 different tram stops within 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. With a 24 hour pass it's a breeze to jump on trams, busses or ferries & get around the whole city. You can dip in and out of the various areas and return home to the tr... Read more

I stayed here for 3 nights , having been to Amsterdam many a time I found this hotel the best. Clean comfortable rooms, brilliant service nothing was to much , really enjoyed my time here. My only complaint was the bath towels in the room were on the small side and a coffee maker would have been nice instead of a kettle.

Interconnecting rooms 1001-1002 for 3 guests, 5 days (4 nights), only single bed available: there are two doors to separate the rooms but one of them (from 1001 to 1002) did not lock well; there is a lobby for (I suppose) employers next to the 1001 and its door it's a bit noisy. Furthermore, I'd suggest to renovate the rooms by eliminating the moquette, the old (?) tiles in the bathroom (no bidet) and the old room-lock with something more hygienic, modern end eco-friendly (you could save energy... A nice hotel in a decent area, friendly helpful staff but don't think the rooms are 5*, in the UK the hotel would be a standard 4*. Clean though and nice breakfast. Would recommend. Close to a canal and short taxi ride or walk to centre of Amsterdam.

Carpet should be replaced. The hotel rates are very expensive to have outdated carpet. Air conditioner controls in the room should be updated along with refrigerant. Hotel is very clean and staff is great, but minor upgrades needed in order for the customer to feel like they are staying in a 5 star hotel. King mattress was not level. Not a big deal for me, but it was noticeable and should be changed.

The hotel is relatively near the airport and a short walking distance to the tram stop that goes to the city centre. The breakfast was very satisfying with a variety of cheese options (as should be expected) and other typical continental breakfast option. The room was comfortable although when I checked in, it smelled a bit of smoke and realized the window was open (probably to let the smoke out). Pros: Great location in one of the nicest neighborhoods. Staff is nice and friendly. The restaurant is amazing. My wife loved the toiletries. Cons: The sink in the bathroom was clogged. We had to ask 2 times to be fixed (first the cleaning lady, then at the reception)... and still it was partially done. Overall, the room was clean, but there was some dust. They were out of toothpaste when we asked for one.
