By any stretch of the imagination. I wouldnâ??t even put it on the same level as a good 4star. It started when checking in around 3.30 in the afternoon, when we were informed that our room wasnâ??t ready but they could offer us an update for 40euros. We declined the offer and a room became mysteriously available. The design is contemporary and perfectly ok for an occasional visit with lots of art dotted around. The rooms are furnished with black carpets, curtains, net curtains, lamps. All the ... Read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights over bank holiday as an early birthday present to him and it was amazing! Every member of staff were friendly and happy to help with anything. The room was beautiful and the Illy coffee machine was a great extra. A member of staff even called the room to ask if we needed more coffee capsules. The location of the hotel was perfect (right at the edge of Damrak street). The price is high but it does not lack in quality whatsoever and I would 100% stay her... Read more

We arrived at Amsterdam Central station at about 11h00. It was hot and humid. As my wife was recovering from surgery the task of carrying our luggage was mine. We walked the short distance to the entrance of the Art Otel where we were spending the night and were greeted by a smiling young lady who immediately offered to help us with the luggage and offered a glass of water. We asked her to stow our luggage until later which she did with both a flourish and smile. The check in was impeccable... Read more

This is a cool hotel. The check in staff are super helpful and the rooms are pretty well laid out so look good and seem to be practical as well as stylish. A big problem is there is no soundproofing, so you can hear every conversation in adjacent rooms and people walking and talking in the lobbies. Total nightmare if you are looking for a good night of sleep. Restaurant staff are friendly but slow and forgetful so you might be sitting for a long time before they realise they forgot to put in... Stayed 3 nights on a business trip. Excellent service, nice design, rooms nicely done as well and clean. Breakfast was of good quality ingredients, reasonable variety and hot options from the kitchen. Only complaint really is the noise from the street, which could be taken care of much better and secondly noise from corridor, which is quite bad around nighttime when people are returning from the bars. Had to sleep with earplugs. Will definitely return!

The location is great as it's just right in front of the central station. The hotel reception staff are friendly and courteous. The interiors of the hotel and the room itself evoke a modern contemporary and artsy vibe. Further, the room's amenities are almost complete (coffee maker, flat iron and stand, slippers). This hotel has the perfect location to walk anywhere and everywhere for tourists visiting Amsterdam. The rooms are spacious and have a great ambience. It is an art themes hotel and there was an exhibition on in the rooms adjacent to reception, plus we were lucky enough to be there while a Banksy exhibition was on in Amsterdam. Love the location of this hotel, every aspect is consistently good. Breakfast, cocktails, room and house keeping, all staff interactions without exception. Bonus points for helping procure and use super glue to get a pair of retro "kicks" wearable after 16 years in storage with superglue and precise application. "Forbidden Love" cocktail, at the bar, also a necessary imbibe if resident ;)

First of all, the Art'Otel is a perfect place to stay. Good location, good hotel service. Good as anyone to stay for a few peasant days in Amsterdam. But than the details; the Art'Otel tries to offer an very modern innovative hotelconcept. This is much more difficult that you may expect. It seems nice, such a modern open 'table reception', but after a few times it is by far less comfortable than a traditional balcony. The rooms have the same 'art' approach, but normal doors are much more conve... Read more

Overall a great choice. The location is amazing. The staff were exceptional and allowed us to check in at 9 in the morning. This is the first for me when they have been so considerate that we were with young children and a hotel allowed us to check in so early. I was sold at that point alone. In addition customer service was brilliant too. Great gym and the staff is dressed up nice too.
