The perfect hotel in an amazing location. Staff where awesome and how they remember your name beats me, shows you how great they are. Breakfast on the terrace superb with plenty of choice. Suite had a great view. Nothing negative to say but thankyou for making my birthday a brilliant one. The cake and wine went down a treat. Oh and if you are lucky enough to be treated to being taken to and from the airport, it's just around the corner and is definitely something well worth doing.

The location is walkable to the main city and there are some great restaurants down in the local harbour. If you do visit this hotel make sure to visit the vintage car collection nearby.

Our friends who stayed in Nice came over on the Sunday and were as excited as Mr excited in in excitation town because as we were leaving to go to the boat we would be watching from they met several F1 drivers, including Mark Webber. As a hotel it did exactly what it should - provided an nice bed, a good breakfast and friendly staff. This hotel is in a great location. Close to the marina where you can walk around and enjoy looking at nice Yachts. Our room had a balcony that had a great view to the gardens and to the Mediterranean. It is a good walk to the Palace and to many of the attractions in Monaco from the hotel. The tour bus has a pick up in front of the hotel. Parking was included in our room rate so that was a plus. The hotel is located in the west part of Monaco very close to Football Stadium Luis II. You can go to city center either by taxi or by bus. Line 5 is convenient and the daily ticket cost 5,5 Euro. We found a taxi only when we booked it in advance to go back to the Airport of Nice. We had a room with a view to Princess Grace. Got a very warm welcome from this hotel, me or my girlfriend didn't have to lift a finger once we took our first step into the hotel. We really enjoyed the location of this hotel too with a large rose garden across the road in a quieter area of Monaco. The room size was great and the beds were comfortable, the only thing someone may not like is the shower, it works fine but doesn't match the rest of the room (old).

We enjoyed our stay at the Columbus hotel very much. We confirm previous comments about the need for renovation, the carpets but also the bathroom were quite used. The breakfast was alright and the staff really helpful and friendly, especially the concierge. The location is a bit out of the busy Monaco, but Monte-Carlo is a 15 min walk away, as is the old town. The heliport is very close, but we hardly noticed it in our hotel room.

Service was very professional and polite and everything was catered for. Breakfast was good and on from 6am to 11am so plenty of time for us lazy people. Travelling with a tour group we had a two day stop over. My girlfriend and I were given a double bed which was not what was booked, as twin beds were requested. Another room was found with a fold up bed placed in as the second bed. The manager was VERY rude about the situation saying there was nothing more she could do, in other words, take it or leave it. Location close to the heliport was convenient (but the choppers' constant humming can also get on your nerves). The entrance is a bit odd, past the Concierge and up the stairs to a rather uninviting lobby. Nice hotel, central (but what's not central in Monaco-ville?). Needs some heavy refurbishing. For example the hallway carpet has serious wear and tear marks. Otherwise the rooms are large enough, breskfast is decent (although it's a ripoff as it's 24euro). You can even take it on the outside terrace. Parking is 25eur per day (valet parking). Expensive hotel, so you expect quality... First impression, run down carpet with holes. Old bathroom, with the shower in the bath tub (how old fashioned), with only a shower head and no loose handshower. Very annoying if you do not want to wash your hair. Water poors from the tap and the shower at the same time, which means not a lot of water is coming from the shower. Good hairdryer though (and you need it). Hardly any sockets to charge your phone and equipment, unless you use those of the la... Read more

Disappointing, the hotel is due a refurb. For ?500 per night I had a small queen room, the beds are really uncomfortable, very poor quality mattress and the bedding is also substandard. There were no tea & coffee making facilities, no face clothes, no cotton wool or vanity kit, no slippers or robe. Worst of all is that I was I was woken up the next morning by housekeeping knocking on the door, and finally just walking in. So not only was it a hideous experience being in the room I was also d... What a fabulous hotel. Informative and helpful reception. Excellent concierge services. Free taxi transfer to major attractions. Lovely reception areas, with free coffee machine in a relaxing lounge. Bedroom was very clean and comfortable, with amazing views of the countryside. Ample and well presented breakfast, with a choice of hot and cold food, fruit, and pastries. Christoffe the barman was friendly, courteous and attentive. He obviously enjoys his job and the hotel as he was constantly sing... Read more

Beautiful view of the rose garden. Close proximity to the helicopter airport and smaller marina. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was nice but very busy. Nice pool but I felt lacked atmosphere. Very quiet. The placement of huge rocks didn't seemed to work. The Hotel seemed to be in a more residential area, which I didn't mind. Felt very safe and comfortable. I enjoy using the beauty bar. the concierge were super helpful and friendly, great personality.

My 3rd stay at this hotel and whilst its looking tired, worn carpets in bedrooms etc it is still a good hotel in an excellent location. We started off with a lovely sea view on floor 4 but had to move to the same room but higher due to a fault in our first room with a transformer. We ended up on floor 7 and the sea view was gorgeous. A bottle of wine upon arrival was appreciated and breakfast was ok. Staff helpful and friendly too. I miss the bar however in the lounge area and the restaurant... Read more

I treated my sister to a girlie weekend at this lovely hotel, which we used as a base. Breakfast is buffet style, lots of choice and good food. Our room was clean and the beds are so comfortable! The star of our weekend though was Jenny, the very hardworking concierge - she was so knowledgable about the whole area and nothing was too much trouble for her, she's a little star. Thoroughly recommend the hotel as it is in a quiet area of Monaco and our room had a balcony which overlooked the Prince... Read more

Enjoyed a 3-night break as an anniversary treat with my husband. Just love Monaco, and the Columbus hotel reflected Monaco well. Decor was elegant yet comfortable, with trendy mood music set just right for relaxing in the lounge area. Helpful receptionists, polite auxiliary staff, but try and get a waiter's attention and be prepared for a long wait! Always busy, even when no other guests are around! Deliberately didn't tip as they acted too cool and aloof - not the sign of an attentive and aware... Read more

It's a nice hotel with decent room size and especially sea view rooms are very nice. Carpets need change. Unfortunately it dosnt have any restaurant for lunch/dinner but has few delivery options with menu cards in the room. Best part is the rose garden just opposite which is nice to walk in the morning. It's also very near to the heliport that serves Nice, France.

Just got back from a short break in Monte Carlo and stayed at Hotel Columbus. Had a really great time and the hotel is a really nice place to stay with clean rooms ,really helpful and courteous staff ,and an excellent breakfast. We didn't spend too much time in the hotel as we did a lot of sightseeing ,but when we did it was great. The weather was varying whilst we were there, but we did manage to sample the pool one afternoon which was lovely. We travelled as a family as an excuse to celebrate... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting Monaco. Very good location if you're prepared to walk a lot (which we are). Located in Fontveille - near the heliport, Monaco Football ground and the marina - this hotel is in need of some upgrading, which I understand is already planned, as some areas are quite shabby (especially the carpets). There are plenty of nice restaurants just a 5/10 minute walk to the marina and you can easily walk to montecarlo if relatively fit (about 40 minutes to the casi... Read more

We were welcomed cheerfully by Patrick the concierge, and by the receptionist who described our premium room with a view, I thought I was going to rate this "Excellent" There is indeed a good west-facing view over the Roseraie garden, and a slight view of the sea towards the heliport. There was no noise disturbance as the window insulation was good and there are no flights at night. There is no tea making facility in the room. That may seem a small thing but when I wake early I like to have a q... Read more

As a former resident of Monaco I know the Columbus pretty well. I used to have lunch here regularly and would happily travel to the comparative middle of nowhere for some good food. The location is about as eccentric as possible, transport is awful if you don't have a car and you're not really within walking distance of anything even vaguely interesting. Luckily we do have a car and we're not tourists, we're staying here out of necessity as the Columbus is one of the few hotels in the principali... Read more

I lived in Monaco for 2 years and was back for a quick visit. Things you should know (I already knew!). The hotel is in Fontvieille. Heavily residential and Business District. No where near Monte Carlo. Walking to Monte Carlo is at least 30 to 40 minutes. Bus, 10 minutes. There are some great restaurants in Fontvieille Port, Beef Bar is excellent. If it's a bar you want, Gerhards is the place to go. Give the Ship and Castle a miss. Hotel is close to Carrefore supermarket & McDonalds. If you... Read more
