This is an excellent hotel, the best in Tlaxcala. It is beautiful, well-maintained, first-class and in an old historic building. The only problem is that the rooms are cold, but worse, the inside of the restaurant is unheated with wide open doors. Staff were setting up breakfast in winter parkas. I borrowed a heater and sat millimeters from it trying to keep warm. The restaurant was 2 degrees above freezing at one point. And sitting next to a small heater in a freezing place does not make yo... Read more

But a far cry from a great hotel. The building is pretty from the out side and the entryway is very nice, but the rest of the hotel is just run-down. Probably the biggest problem is that the room had a strong smell like the urinal cakes they use in men's rooms. It came from the bathroom and was probably the cleaning products they use. So- the bathroom was clean - but it was hard to be in the room. The location is right in the center of the city. Also - I was surprised at the cost. This ho... Read more

Tlaxcala is a very small town and I doubt there is any other better hotel than this one. It's located side by side of the citie's center. The hotel was built in an old historic building and it is well conserved with a very traditional style. The rooms are OK, very clean and everyone is kind and helpful. I stayed in a suite (maybe the only suite in the hotel) because they ran out of king size bedrooms so they gave me this one free of charge. Breaksfast is pretty good, although it is full of tradi... This hotel is in a great location right on the zocalo in the charming town of Tlaxcala. But it's a bit 'long in the tooth', if you know what I mean. Our first room they took us to was about 500 meters from the lobby, or so it seemed. We wanted a closer room, so we got a room right on the pool. The problem is that there is no insulation between rooms and the walls seem to be about the thickness of paper. We could easily hear our neighbors snoring and when our other neighbors came in borracho ... Read more

This hotel has so much wasted potential. The hotel itself is beautiful and beyond charming. The location cannot be beat. You feel like you are going back in time in Mexico. Some of the best common area of any hotel I??ve ever stayed at. This really could be a 5 start hotel. The problem is, you get a two star room. I doubt there are any better options in this charming small mountain town. It??s just a shame, if the rooms were nice this hotel would be a destination for tourist from all ... Read more
