R & P Moloney from Fort Worth, Texas had this to say:
"We just came back from our trip there. This is our second trip to the RIU - Santa Fe. We had a great time the first and this time. We had our friends and family go this time. The staff spoiled us with what we wanted in our room's refrigerator. We also celebrated two birthdays there with great success. Now we just keep hearing, 'when are we going again?'. The staff pays attention to the details such as the grounds, dining rooms, and the care of their guest. We will be going back."

"We visited the Santa Fe in Dec. 2008 and absolutely loved it. The food at the buffets were amazing especially the main dining hall. The pools were beautiful and so were the grounds. We stayed in building 8 I believe which is the farthest to walk but we had amazing views of the ocean. I actually requested that building at booking and it was the best idea. The drinks were delicious, we also set up the sunset cruise and snorkeling at lovers beach with the BookIt agent. Oh I want to go back again, me and my boyfriend are actually planning a trip back in 2010 and want to stay longer. We only stayed 3 nights and didn't make it to the nightclubs in town and I never got a chance to use the swim up bar. I always will recommend the riu sante fe. It was so romantic and the only thing I recommend is making dinner reservations ahead of time at all 7 restaurants they were booked up! But I could not complain about one thing else!"

Orlando from San Diego, CA had this to say:
"I recently spent four nights at the resort with my wife and it was wonderful. If you do not like walking or are there just for the food then this is not the place for you. However, if you want to relax, have fun, and enjoy clean beautiful facilities then the Santa Fe is for you. We even got upgraded to an ocean view room without asking or paying anything extra. People are very nice, food and entertainment were good but not great. Book It.com did a great job they even have a rep at the lobby every morning to help with whatever you need."

"We had a wonderful time. Would definitely stay here again. We went offshore fishing; it was excellent. The sunset sailing was also excellent. Use your agent in the hotel lobby. He(she) is very helpful and does all the work for you. Make sure you look for your representative at the airport. Do not let anyone else stop you. They are trying to give you rides or sell you a time-share. We booked the specialty dinners. They were not very good; we do not recommend. The main buffet was excellent. Overall, it was great."

Trisha from Pontiac, Michigan had this to say:
"I have enjoyed my all inclusive vacations at the Riu Resorts. I stayed in Riu Ocho Rios in Jamaica in June 2007 and Riu Santa Fe in Cabo and really had a blast. The Riu really knows how to put things together for a very reasonable price. Love the Mojitos in Mexico. One thing I did have a problem with was our room was near a horse stable. But that is not the Riu fault. Staff was very entertaining. "

MaeBeth Scott from Southlake, Texas had this to say:
"Although there was a free mini bar in the room. There was no real food on the grounds after the restaurant closed at 10:00 pm until the next morning, when the restaurant opened at 7:00.''There were not enough bartenders at night and they were to busy and as a result a bit rude.''We had to get in line at 7:00 am to make dinner reservations, unless we wanted to eat at the buffet, which was actually better than the restaurants requiring reservations. There were people who stood in line every morning for their entire stay and were not able to get reservations. We should not have to stand in line on vacation."

A Recent Traveler from Reno, NV had this to say:
"Hotel & rooms clean & modern. Not enough ocean view rooms. We were lucky to get into Bldg.#7 but that is only b/c my son who was first to arrived got the heads up from another guest. The other buildings have crappy views & locations. No moisturizer in room...hardly what you would expect in a 4.5-star resort. 'Buffet food was good & plentiful. Reservation restaurants were overrated & difficult to get into. Hotel personnel was not consistent in giving out info & was unfair to many guests. Long pants criteria for restaurants was not adhered to...also unfair to those who obeyed the rules. Be consistent---if you don't want shorts then refuse admittance to those showing up at your door with them on or allow all to wear shorts.'Wait staff was lax, slow & generally non existent...both in buffet area & restaurants. Quality of food in restaurants was fair at best---Japanese Restaurant was still a buffet. Minimal selection choices in other restaurants. Italian restaurant was never even open the entire week we were there. 'Pools were way to cold for most folks...lots of complaints heard. One had to be drinking abundantly at the swim-up bars to eventually venture in.'Taxi fares into Cabo which is pretty close by is way too $$$$. A rip-off.'Would not return to this hotel or probably any RUI hotel."

Carol from Chicago, IL had this to say:
"I have been to Cabo 3 times. Upon checkin, room not ready. Checkin staff not accomodating. When we could finally ckin, we could only have 1 key for 3 people. They told us come back later for other key, gave up after 3 days of asking. Have to go to bar or restaurant's for own drinks and food. No wait service. No 24 hr service. Food at buffet was good with a lot of choices. Need reservations for select reataurants, availability not good. When we arrived at 1pm we could not reserve any restaurants for that evening or next day. Had to wait until next day at 7am to reserve, nothing was left except 9pm seatings. They change the rules as they go along. When I tried to get another key next day at 3pm, they had let people book dinner reservations for the day or next day and we could not, different person. Bldg 7 is by beach and pool. Best place to stay is building 7 away from music shows when sleeping. Take good walking shoes. Lots of walking from one place to another. No one to help with bags unless you want to wait 1 hour or more. They do not use top shelf liquor. The hotel was not busy or full. I am sure it is much worse if they would be full. I would rather stay elsewhere. First time for me all inclusive, not recommended at the RUI. If you don't care about service or being waited on, then the price here is good and the main buffet food is good. The mini bar is stocked every 2nd day and not each day for Beer, Pop and Water in room. If you like to get a massage, go next to Sandbar/ by The Office for $20.00 = 40mins instead of paying over $100.00 at hotel beach location. It is the same."

Dennis from Riverside, Ca. had this to say:
"This was our 4th alll-inclusive to Mex. The Riu Santa Fe would have been fine had we not been to others. Less than a year old it was in excellent condition and very clean. The food in the buffet was good with a wide variety to choose from. As for the other four restaurants, the only one we could get into was the Mexican. They had only two of the four open on any given day. You had to make reservations for them between 7:30 and 10:00 am at the desk days in advance. There's no room service and the pool bars closed at 6:00 pm with an hour of daylight left. Of the 900 rooms only about 100 have an ocean view. The rest are blocked out by the Riu Palace. They can use your facilities but you cnn't use theirs. Food is available 24 hours in the sports bar but if you want it hot you have to microwave iit. If you like a decent wine with dinner, forget it. It's not a bad resort for the price. The location is close to town but not too close."
