We had massages here & spa services. Only OK but expensive. It is a nice modern hotel but...Really not worth the price. I'd consider elsewhere, but have no suggestions for San Miguel. Certainly there are better places in San Miguel.

I had the best experience, and a difficult experience. I had two rooms. One (Room D-1) was large but there was a lot of noise by the pool, and construction on site, so really couldn't take a siesta. The other room (C-15) was smaller, but with a spectacular patio and view, and no noise. The Hotel is wonderful, great service, great spa, fabulous food, but when I asked them to handle the noise, they just didn't have an answer. Great place to go, but be sure you get a room away from the pool/... Read more

San Miguel de Allende looks like an ancient, cobble-stoned mountain town from the street, but once you turn into the Hotel Matilda, you are quickly reminded that modern art and architecture are thriving here. The rooms are sleek and modern and the public spaces are filled with contemporary art. We stayed in the Owner's Suite C, and it was worth the extra money for the large terrace which overlooks much of the city and mountains in the distance. Sitting outside at night was awesome--watching f... Read more

Hotel Matilda is beautiful. Wonderful artwork, comfortable beds, very modern, delicious breakfast, lovely setting. A moderate walk to the main square of the city and the restaurants, shops, galleries, etc. located in that part of the city. A little farther on, you will find the artisans' market, food market, etc. Walking in the other direction, you are just about one block from a very nice park with a playground for children, lots of trees, etc.

We only had breakfast at the hotel. Did not stay there. We were referred by another hotel. It was a very nice breakfast. Excellent. It was nice walking by the kitchen and watching the ladies cook up wonderful variations of Mexican breakfast. I will go back. Always nice to explore new eating places.

I was surprised with hotel Matilda . I could not imagine that such a colonial street in San Miguel de Allende had such a retro hotel. The hotel has a unique flavor. It is full of charming details . The rooms are lovely and clean . The pool is spectacular and the service staff is very friendly. This very well it located and has one of the best restaurants in town .

the hotel is strikingly modern with esthetic appeal BUT the rooms have design problems- while beautiful to the eye, the lights are oddly wired and difficult to operate, the television likewise requires tutelage to start, the safe is not simple to open and close and the controls in the bathtub are to the rear and high requiring one to stand to regulate- the air conditioning however is good and the beds are comfortable - the food in the restaurant is superb and the spa is first class- nonethe... It is a nice modern hotel, but don´t expect the BEST The service is what saves the hotel. Staff is very friendly (inlcuidng SPA) and the manger was great. Unfortunately, the price is too high for what you receive. The pool is very very small and the breakfast included in your room is continental, only juice coffee and toast. Moxi is nice but go out for meals. Being an Enrique Olvera´s restaurant I expected more. I will search for other options on my next visit to SMA
