Golf

The Riviera Maya Golf Club is located on the Mayan Riviera approximately 100 kilometers south of Cancun`s International Airport. With thirty six holes cut deep into an ancient limestone quarry and fairways flowing along the natural contours of a jungle dense with mangroves and gum trees, limestone boulders piled at the edge like rubble swept aside by Mayan Gods. More than a game, it is an environmental experience! To ensure that this development offers golfers an unparalleled experience, Grupo Pinero retained the world-renowned firm of Robert Trent Jones II, best known for an environmental sensibility and use of the latest technology. These golf course landscape architects have successfully integrated the nature wonders of the region with the design of the course. The Riviera Maya Golf Club has three championship 9-hole courses plus an executive 9-hole Par 3 course. At the practice area golfers will find two driving range tee boxes, a chipping area with a bunker, and a putting green that provides the perfect way to warm up before a round. Golfers also have the option to attend golf clinics or private lessons. Spanning 223 acres and set within a total of 717 acres of tropical rain forest, this club is an impressive work of landscape architecture, where the designer Robert Trent Jones II has attained a spectacular synergy between the 36 holes and the lush Mayan jungle by integrating natural lakes and cenotes [sink holes] within the rugged terrain. This phenomenal golf experience is on its way to becoming one of the world`s leading courses. Players of all levels will find that the design is both fun and challenging. Nature lovers will be delighted to interact with different species of plants and animals while playing a round. Gum trees, foxes, and dozens of birds are everyday scenery at the club

Riviera Maya Golf Club offers the following services
Practice Area: Open every day at 6:30am. This area offers two driving range tee boxes, a chipping area with a bunker to practice sand shots and a large putting green. Also this area will be the base for the Golf Academy.
Club House: Providing the highest luxury, comfort and quality standards, the Club House offers a wide array of services to make your experience more enjoyable. A fully stocked Pro shop will offer club and shoe rentals as well as clothing and equipment of the best golf brands available. At both the Specialties Restaurant and the Sports Bar our golfers will be able to enjoy a wonderful view of the course while having lunch or their favorite beverage. The Spa, Gym and two tennis courts will provide the perfect place to both exercise and pamper our golfers with a beauty treatment. Finally, the snack, swimming pool and pool bar will provide a point of reunion for friends and family while sun tanning. A multipurpose meeting area, showers and lockers as well as a golf club storage area complete the array of services provided at the Club House.
Pro Shop: This is the reception area where you will be welcome with a smiling friendly face. Feel free to take a minute of your time before or after your round to explore and find a very complete selection of golf items and the most exclusive brands. Find the perfect gift for those golfer friends who stayed at home or treat yourself with a logo souvenir.
GPS: Each cart is equipped with the latest GPS technology that allows each golfer to experience in real time the accurate distance between the ball and the green as well as a virtual map of every hole. This technology allows every golfer to focus and maximize every stroke resulting in a more enjoyable golf experience.
Rentals: Equipment and shoes are available for all of those who left them at home. You can rent equipment of the leading brands which combine technology with performance to improve the game experience. Golf shoes are not mandatory at our course; however, if you feel more comfortable wearing a pair, you can rent them as well.

The Grand Bahia Principe Coba is the lower end of the resort from what I could tell, (there are 3 resorts on the property) but Coba is still nice for your buck. the resort its self is family friendly, the staff is just OK, however it's worth the money. Overall, I would stay again as the expectations match the dollar.

Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was okay. Buffet is hit or miss, some of it is delicious and some of it isn't. I recommend trying a little bit of everything before filling your plate with something that appears to be good. Room was nice, comfy, and clean, but coffee materials were never replaced. The pools were beautiful and there were always activities going on. The beach is also wonderful. We had 3 a la cartel meals included because we stayed there for a week, and the food was ... Read more

First off all the pictures and videos of this resort are taken at one of the lobby's in the resort that ordinary people can not enter only the richest this is not a problem but this is not stated anywhere.Second off you pay 5 dollars a day for a safe and there is no internet not even if you pay for it.Third off at the beach there is a small ass bar that has no coffee and since its small the line gets about 50 feet long. You can only get 3 dinners at a all inclusive resort which is a joke and ev... The Bahia Principe Coba at Rivera Maya is top notch. The food, the staff, the location, the casitas, the value is SUPER. The staff will bent over backwards to make sure you are happy. The food is delicious and a great variety every night: Asian (Indian and Chinese), Italian, Mexican and Spanish (Spain). The desserts are decadent and WOW! I would suggest to try the Mexican coffee. Its delicious! Nothing more to say. I would definitely return. 100%

This was my 4th time in Mexico and the 4th resort my family and I had stayed in and comparing it to my previous stays this hotel was the one I least enjoyed. One of the reasons I love vacationing in Mexico it's due to the friendliness and warmth of the staff. Overall the hotel was clean and well maintained. The pools and beach are also very nice. One more thing I dislikes is how hot it is within the premises...because many areas including restaurants and lobbies do not have air conditioning only... I just returned from a week at Grand Bahia Principe Coba with my wife. We had never taken a trip together without our kids, so we decided this would be the one. The property is very large and takes some time to get used to, but it is very well taken care of. We absolutely loved the resort. The food and beverages were great, pools and beaches were nice, and the staff was incredibly friendly. We have read mixed reviews on the staff, and we found that being bilingual played a large part in ge... Read more

This was a family trip with children of 9 and 7 years old. The resort is beautiful and the staff is great although as the days went by ,the staff at the buffet was becoming not as accomodating, they seemed to be bothered when asked something or just plainly ignore you. The pools are amazing but you have to get there early or you are left with no lounge chair (guest leave their towels there all day, even if they leave for hours). The beach is not great at all, very disappointed in this, there ar... Read more
