Two weeks of bliss on our 4th visit to this very special place. Like many people, we work hard all year and this is our treat to recharge our batteries. It always works!! We stayed in a garden villa for the first week which was amazing, second week in a one bedroom apartment with views of the ocean, again wonderful. Kept spotlessly clean by the hardworking cleaners. Very picturesque and relaxing. We were there for a family wedding which couldn't have been lovelier. Thank you to the bride & groom -- Siiana & Andrew -- for choosing such a beautiful place to celebrate your wedding with your family and friends. We made memories to last a lifetime. Love the signature drinks, "Liquid Smoke" "Cucumber Gimlet" & "Green Maroma". The green smoothie for breakfast was a great way to kick-start the day. All in all, a relaxing and memorable experience.

I'm an Exotic member so maybe I'm biased. But the Martinez family has figured out how to create a beautiful setting, maintain a staff that makes you feel like family, and create restaurants with menus that are awesome. Maroma is also the most fantastic beach on the Mayan Riviera. The sand is so clean and as soft as powdered sugar! I've been here for lunch before so this is the first time to actually spend a full week. It is just awesome. Smaller than some of their other resorts but that on... Read more

We just came back from El Dorado Maroma and couldn't be happier. I'd like to call out five amazing staff individuals at this resort who made our stay perfect: Camacho, Ferdinando, Rene, Jonas, and Daniel. Camacho is awesome, always getting the guests geared up to play some kind of event, like water volleyball. It's clear he genuinely enjoys speaking to the vacationers and making sure people are content. Ferdinando is the man in the kitchen! He made us authentic Mexican breakfast dishes that were... Just got back from two amazing weeks. As soon as you walk through the door you feel different. We were taken to our room with our glass of champagne and given a tour as we walked, it is truly calming. Our room looked straight out to the small pool and the most amzing beach I have ever seen. The food was excellent and the staff were like long lost friends by the time we left. I visited El Dorado Maroma as part of a small wedding party in March 2016. Overall, I had a wonderful time! This was my first trip to Mexico and to an all inclusive resort. Because the travel agents did all of the work, I hadn't done a lot of research before arriving. I knew it was a smaller resort and that we'd be right on the beach. I arrived late at night and my check in was smooth and the folks were very friendly! Someone was there to show me to my room (4th floor villa 8) and I was p... Read more

Me and my Husband have just came back off our Honeymoon. We stayed at EDM. On arrival we were disappointed with the reception, it is very small. They could improve this. We got greeted with a glass of champagne and a heated towel and then shown around the hotel. We had a private infinity pool, we only ever went in this twice. ...but I have to stop at 4 because of the beach. Don't get me wrong, the water is plenty clear but the artificial island created to prevent beach erosion actually serves to bring down the beach. Go past it for the best water. The service is ridiculous. I know that's Mexico, but these people aren't getting paid enough. Tip them regardless of what your itinerary says. Concierge service is better than any top hotel I've been to. My biggest complaint was that the coffee packets in my room did... Read more

All went smoothly in the airport. We were collected by private transfer, and taken directly to resort, which was nice, because after a long flight the last thing you want to do is get on a full coach and go to lots of hotels to drop other guests off. This was the first vacation for my husband & I to take alone since having kids, and this resort was perfect for that. Beach and water was beautiful, excellent service from workers, gorgeous grounds, and you can't beat the all inclusive. Alex & the entertainment staff were wonderful and especially enjoyed kayaking. I have been to many of the massive resorts in Mexico, and this was really refreshing to have a more boutique/intimate setting.

Each time we arrive at EDM we are greeted with smiles and waves and maybe a hug from the staff. It's amazing how many of the staff actually remember our names/faces and this fact alone makes it feel like we are truly "going home," something many of the staff say. For me there are three levels of staff that should be mentioned. First of all, the grounds and the cleaning crew and the cooking staff do an amazing job each day. But they are behind the scenes and therefore might not get much attenti... Read more

This was our second trip to this resort and our 7th to an El Dorado resort (usually stay at Royale or Casitas). We absolutely love these resorts because the food is outstanding (truly gourmet and always plated beautifully), the staff is amazing and everything is so clean and great smelling (aromatherapy everywhere)!! They have great attention to every detail. This resort in particular has an amazing beach that you can walk on for miles and feels like powered sugar. It is a smaller and very l... Read more

This is a fantastic resort. Service is great (honestly best service in Gulf/Caribbean area), food is delicious, drinks are awesome, beach is beautiful, rooms clean and comfortable. This was our second trip there and it was as good as the first. Go now before it gets too big. My only concern is the growth, its starting to lose the small quaint boutique feel and becoming a full blown resort.

I'm not sure I stayed in the same resort all the other reviewers are talking about. The resort was lovely, with beautiful grounds, very well kept up. The beach was pure white sand, but the water was cloudy at times, and quite shallow. I guess I'm spoiled by Caribbean waters. The staff was superb, always friendly and willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. I thought it was very odd that there was no daytime sit-down bar other than the swimup bars. Sitting a tables in the bar area i... Read more

Finally doing a VERY long overdue review of Maroma from our July trip earlier this year. It was our first visit as Exotic members (Sapphire) and our first trip to this resort and it was amazing! We aren‚??t very high maintenance types and weren‚??t sure we needed or would appreciate the ‚??butler‚?? services. Boy, were we wrong! Carlos and Penny were amazing from day 1. They thought of things we MIGHT want and suggested them. So, we ended up with a fruit plate and I had my hot tea each morning, ... Read more

My wife and I traveled here for 5 days to celebrate our 10th anniversary 11/28-12/2/16. The transfer from the airport set up by the resort was smooth. Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne. Check-in with Manuel was easy. We had chosen an infinity pool suite (after much deliberation). Although the room (811) was nice, the view left much to be desired. We asked Manuel about switching to a different location. He was very nice about it and tried to accommodate us, but the other infinity pool... Read more

From the moment we arrived, we felt the warmth of the staff. The next day at breakfast, Eroin welcomed our requests with a smile. On the beach we were pampered by Diego who kept the refreshments coming. Alex, Angel and Giselle kept us entertained with beach volleyball and dance lessons! "Scualo" our life guard was excellent with an old injury that popped up during our stay. Finally, Cynthia, our personal concierge provided professional assistance from the beginning to the end our our EXCELL... Read more
