"Velas is the best resort we've stayed at in Mexico. The compliments of the others I've read on this site are accurate. We try to return every year and have owned at this resort since 1998. The rooms, service, food, resort ammenities and location are lovely. We try to bring friends or relatives along each year; one couple has returned more than once and will be coming back in January of 2013.
As Americans we have become accustomed to free WiFi in our hotels and motels, either in our rooms or at least in the lobby area. This is not the case in any of the resorts we've stayed at in Mexico, mostly in Puerto Vallarta. There is a pretty steep charge for WiFi which can be a big negative for Americans and probably Canadians; we are all used to being able to connect to the internet quickly and free of charge on our vacations. In short, free WiFi would be a very welcome addition to Velas Vallarta's ammenities for owners and guests. This would be another great selling point if added to the available ammenities."

They are always so friendly and polite and willing to help you. What a refreshing change from most other places we have stayed. That is one of the reasons we go back year after year!"

"I concur with the review above. Vellas Vallarta was a delightful experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. It felt very safe there, as the hotel surrounds the restaurants, pool and garden area like a fort. We got an all-inclusive package, so paid for nothing; food at 2 restaurants, poolside snacks and drinks, evening activities, and room service. The spa and gift shop are extra $. We did tip a bit, because everyone was so helpful. The rooms were spacious, and the kitchen was well stocked. We came the week before Christmas, and as the holiday got closer, more people came. On the weekend, it was a bit loud late at night from other people partying. Because the two towers are adjacent to one another, the sound echos from one tower to another. All part of the experience, unless you are wanting total silence and privacy. Every day there is water aerobics in the pool at noon, so they play loud music for 1/2 hour. There are peacocks, cats, and iguanas roaming freely around the garden, and Koi fish in the stream. I loved it here, and would go back!"
