"Second time for us. Ten days of a wonderful time. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Food was very good; loved the salad bars. Room and balcony were most adequate. We went with friends from Canada and they've been there four times and they loved it each time. We feel for the price it was a very good value. Will be back again I'm certain. Don't understand the negative reviews above."

"Visited this resort Dec.21-29 I had read many reviews before booking and was a little worried about a few negative ones. We decided to book as it was recommended by friends who have been often. First impression upon arrival was great! We were served delicious slushy drinks at check in which was friendly and quick. Our room was not on ground floor which I requested but was in building 5 with a king bed. I don't think there are king beds on ground floor. Our view from our 2nd floor was beautiful, room was clean in every way. The tiles were a little worn in the bathroom, but the shower was huge and good pressure. It gave off just the Mexican feel I was looking for. Food was incredible, don't understand what some people complain about. The a la carte restaurants are plenty to choose from. Buffet food was delicious and too much to choose from. The drinks are defiantly not watered down. All the bartenders at the bars we frequented knew our drinks and had them ready in no time. All staff were friendly and always smiling. One staff member took the time to teach me some Spanish. There are 6 buildings and 5 or 6 pools, none which seemed crowded and adult poos were available for those without children. The beach is beautiful and hundreds of beach lounges and palapas to sit under for shade. Close to Bucerious, 5 dollar cab ride if its too hot to walk. All in all great value for the money and I would defiantly go back! Thumbs up! "

"Definitely recommend it! I went on a trip with my buddy after university exams and it was a great way to unwind. There's a ton of stuff to do at the resort like beach volleyball, ping pong, pool, game nights, a nearby sports bar, nightclub etc etc. Also the resort is so huge that it really never seems to busy. Lots of pools so you can always find one that's quiet if you like to relax or busy if you want to find some new folks to hang out with. And there's a bar in sight at all times, so what more can you ask!"

"Our stay at Royal Decameron (Dec. 8 - Dec. 15, 2012) was most enjoyable. I had requested a room either on the main floor or in a building with an elevator. They changed me to a main floor room with out any problem. Bldg. 6 was a considerable distance from the Registration and as I have COPD, a wheel chair was arranged for me and I was told I could keep it for the week. A tremendous aid to my getting about the resort. They arranged wheel chairs for my arrival at every airport. It was greatly appreciated as the airports are so huge now. The food was typically Mexican style but the dinners in the a la carte restaurants was pretty good. The service throughout the resort was excellent and always with a smile. The resort was well organized and they could answer any questions that might arise. A totally enjoyable holiday - only marred by the 'gestapo'-like attitude of the Homeland Security Customs Agent at Los Angeles airport on our return flight which, of course, is beyond your realm of control."

"I really enjoyed the trip. It was exciting and the flight seemed to take much less time than I expected.nThe Royal is an older resort but still up to par in every way. In fact I heard they are moving the whole thing next door and starting a new one.nnthe food was wonderful. service excellent and no wants of any kind.nnMy only 2 peeves were: exchanging money. If you bring Travellers cheques the only place you can cash them is on the resort at the cashiers.nnThe other one was making reservations.nyes the Piccalo restaurant was worth the wait, but you need to be up at 7am in order to wait to get a number chosen for you which happens at 7:30 and then you get called at 8am for your reservation.nfinding places around takes a couple of days. the other peeve is the towel card. If you return it no problem but if you lose it you are required to pay $"
