"Melia Puerto Vallarta is a great resort.

Nightly entertainment shows are top notch, not to be missed! The comedy, the circus, and the magic shows especially so.

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I needed a working phone, so I went and bought a cheap local SIM card (about $15). There is a couple of hoops to jump through to register that card and not speaking any Spanish I did not know what to do. The ladies at the front desk really went out of their way to help me and it all worked out great.

The area around the resort is safe and fun to take a walk should you wish to leave and explore a bit.

There is a lot to do besides laying around. Rifle, climbing, baseball, etc -- it really adds up to a lot of fun. It was the reason we chose this resort and never regretted it. Kids enjoyed it and us adults enjoyed the activities too!

I can't really find anything negative to say about the resort or our experience with it. Thanks to the team!"

"This Melia is Older , still very clean- Staff is excellent. Speak English best in Mexico. Area is incredible -go to Rythems of Nights, and visit Marina area walking distance from resort. Day trips to downtown( short cab ride), lots of great food and shopping. Food at Melia is OK, not great- expected that. Drinks are very good and pool. Nightly shows at Melia very good- big surprise! Dancers are top notch production very professional - almost a Vegas show- even Free, well worth seeing.Overall- Very Satisfied."

"Disappointing for there is no hot tub or Jacuzzi tub for the not so sunny days. No clocks or temperature reader anywhere in the hotel or rooms.We had two rooms; one had a very good mattress and the other one had a rock hard mattress and there was no connection between the rooms .The hotel is a little to old with no working fans in bathroom. The garden blocks the ocean view and soon will get to the size of a jungle.
The only good think was the food and friendly atmosphere .I will definitely try another hotel next time."

"The room was decent, but had some cosmetic flaws (outdated fixtures, sliding door was hard to pull open and close, bathroom door did not latch, TV was older, two lights out). It was comfortable enough as we spent the majority of our day by the pool. All of the staff was very nice and the service at the buffets was good. The pool side service was outstanding. We found the service lacking at the a-la carte restaurants. The food was pretty good, but even though this is an 'all inclusive resort' we found that there were always a couple of menu items that cost extra. Certain wines and liquors were also considered 'premium' and cost extra. There were always fun activities to participate in and it seemed like they had some good kids programs, but we did not have children with us so we can not speak about the kids programs first hand. Overall we found our trip very relaxing. The resort was pretty good, but it is not the nicest all inclusive you will find."

"My 13 year old daughter and I just returned from Mexico. The hotel was a very child friendly resort. Lots of kids everywhere! The food was ok, but not spectacular. The food in the restaurants(w/reservations) was much better than the buffet. I recommend catching a taxi and eating by the port! The bars had top shelf liquor, but the margaritas were not as great as I'd had elsewhere. The staff were great and very attentive to our needs. There is only one outlet in the room, in the bathroom and no clocks(except one near the lobby). Overall a very fun place to stay with your family. We had the most fun on the Pirate Land Cruise and zip line tours!!!"
