"The hotel was gorgeous. Food was 'eh' I feel like as a Hilton they try and cater to the American cuisine instead of anything authentic. We ate mostly off resort or the buffet or room service. The staff was incredible! They are very attentive and always have time to help. The drinks were plentiful and strong ;) Our room was amazing, we had the swim up pool room. The only issue was our shower had horrible water pressure. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone."

"My husband and I loved the Hilton Resort in Puerto Vallarta. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, the pool was beautiful, and they kept the drinks coming! The room was comfortable and we had a great view, even in the 'partial ocean' view room. Overall a wonderful experience and we would definitely go back."

"Overall we were very very satisfied with the trip and the hotel. The only reason we would stay elsewhere is to have access to a tennis court.
For all inclusive the food was very good. As usual, the breakfasts and lunches are great because you can craft your own at the buffet. Dinner was more hit-or-miss depending on the restaurant but you can order room service if nothing else works for you. My only feedback would be to make sure the minor things are addressed with the food (like the steak is hot, not room temp).
The drinks are everything you could ask for (but you do sometimes have to ask). The staff was always friendly and happy to help.

"The Hotel lived up to its billing and the staff should be complemented on their efforts to satisfy their guests especially being a new facility which would normally require all sorts of 'bugs' to be ironed out. We found the rooms, the beds and the bedding to be most comfortable. The Sea Fire buffet restaurant provided a good variety of food including fresh seafood and although the buffet is smaller than some of the larger hotels, one must bear in mind the size of the hotel which is only 259 rooms.
The specialty restaurants(Le Delice - French, La Catrina -Mexican and FoGO - Brazillian by night (doubling as a daytime beach front snack bar) all provided superb 5 course dinners and although some reviews complain of a lack of food, if one dines through all courses you will not leave hungry, Service at these restaurants is impeccable and every effort to please is taken.
The O'West rooftop infinity pool and Sushi/Tapas Bar is a lively place and the sushi is plentiful and very tasty along with any drinks you may desire.
We must complement our serving staff, who never stopped running and always had a smile and time for quick conversation while providing excellent service.
We did leave a couple of suggestions with the hotel which we feel would be a benefit: 1} Poolside Towel Cards - We were told that management did not wish to make towels an issue with guests, however, having stayed at many all inclusive resorts over the years, almost all supply towel cards in an effort to prevent guests from occupying pool loungers unnecessarily. In this case, we found the pool staff tearing their hair out wondering if loungers were occupied or not because guests would not have the courtesy to turn in their towels when they left. Cards might alleviate some of this problem. 2} The bathrooms are not equipped with hair dryers as most upscale hotels. Ladies appreciate this feature to save packing their own.
Overall an enjoyable week's experience with good food, excellent service, friendly and helpful staff and an urge to return soon."

"In general the trip was satisfactory. the New Hilton Puerto Vallarta resort is a beautifully designed architecture. Food was good. Room was clean. I am an avid swimmer. The only problem for me is: the swimming pool is too shallow and with an irregular shape, so no lap swimming is possible. And most of time the ocean is too stormy to swim.
Before this trip we had about ten package tours with other agencies. They always send a package of itineraries and other documents to us by mail or FedEx two weeks before the departure date, so that we have something printed in an official stationery. "

"Overall great value. The staff could not have been nicer. The food was terrific as well as the cocktails. The all inclusive even included 24/7 room service matched with a 24 hours menu. About the only negative was that the obscure glass shower door did not keep the shower water from gathering on the bathroom floor. Even though it looks as if the bathroom was upgraded/remodeled within a reasonable period of time and was clean and neat the design did not for some reason take how the shower water would runoff into consideration. All this did was create a soaking wet shower mat towel down on the floor. More trouble for the maids than for the guests. I would recommend that families consider taking their kids along as the hotel does try to provide activities and like most kids they love spending time in the pool. Bring swimming goggles as like most public pools the water has quite a bit of chlorine. Bottom line I did not want to leave and look forward to another visit."

"The place was clean, well run, and very attentive and friendly. However, the pool is full of kids and there is NO MUSIC so bring your own - including batteries! The absence of a swim up bar is a HUGE minus for me. On the plus side, they have a good variety of decent liquor and beer. Another annoying thing about the pool is that the people get up at 6 AM and stake claim to poolside chairs and then leave until noon so there is no place to sit even though there are 'unused' chairs with towels on them everywhere... There are signs hanging on every chair not to do this, but it is not enforced. The food is OK... the best food I got was actually the room service which is part of the all inclusive package (24 hours fyi)."

"We have just returned from a beautiful, relaxing week at the Hilton in PV. Of all the resorts we have visited in various Mexican locations, this was by far the best! Our junior suite was beautifully decorated and very clean. When we return (and we most certainly will!), we will book a junior suite. All hotel rooms are in the original building and ours had a very strong musty smell as well as several issues with things not working. After two days of this, we were moved and we were delighted with the new building, which is where all the suites are located. The view was superb, over the pools and the ocean. The service was excellent and all of the staff gracious and fluent in English. The food is very much better than any we have had in other 5 star locations, especially in the buffet! The pools were extremely clean and attractive, with great drink service, especially by our favourite, Anabel! A definite 5 star experience and thanks to the hotel staff for their excellence!"

"The Hilton PV was out first all-inclusive vacation and we had a great time. The hotel is very clean and as many reviewers have mentioned, the staff is very friendly.
We upgraded our room from the 'old' tower to a junior suite in the new tower. Loved the room. We did have to call a couple of times to restock the mini bar with water and they did it very quickly. We did go look at a room in the 'old' tower and they had been updated when Hilton took over but the new tower rooms were so much bigger and all new.
We received awesome service from the bellman when we arrived and helped us during a few other times. The breakfast waiters at Seafire restaurant were a bit slow at times (one morning, we asked for coffee, several times, and didn't get until we were done eating) but excellent for dinner. One dinner waiter was especially attentive and had a great attitude. We sat in his section whenever we went to dinner at Seafire.
As for the specialty restaurants (French and Mexican cuisine) both took 2.5 hours for dinner. We tried each once. They will not take anyone without a reservation made at least one day in advance (except on you arrival date), which was a bit frustrating since we were only there for four nights. The food overall was okay, not the what you would expect for a Hilton. The best thing we had was the guacamole, which was always available for lunch and dinner. They claim that there's a sushi bar at the O'West lounge (where the adult pool is) but in the time we were there, we only saw and tried the sushi once and it wasn't very good.
The bar are well stocked with most liquors you'd want. The drinks were good. One disappointment was the lobby bar didn't serve blended drinks because they didn't have a blender. Seems odd that a bar in this type of resort didn't have a blender. The other two bars did.
If you want a lounge chair by the pool, get up early if it's a busy time. By 8-9am, most of the chairs in the pool area already had towers reserving them for guests. This apparently is a no-no and chairs with towels can only sit for an hour unused before someone else can take it but the staff didn't adhere to this to avoid upsetting the guests.
The beach area is clean but the sand is really course, not the best for walking. Be prepared for beach vendors to approach you selling all kinds of things. We were told the jewelry is not real so don't get trapped into buying 'real' silver because it's not.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and this was a good first time experience with an all-inclusive resort. We would probably stay here again after trying other places to compare."

"This is a wonderful, small resort. The staff was unbelievable; nothing was too much for them, such as moving lawn chairs and umbrellas, or carrying your plate from the buffet to your table (really!). Absolutly everything was clean. The one drawback is the lobby area, which is nice and comfortable, acts as a wind tunnel as it is open from front to back; there are no doors. It is a nice place to sit and have a drink, but the wind blows hard and cool thru there. Rooms were very nice. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable we've had at a resort. A safety note, which I mentioned to the front desk staff... the stairs from the lobby to the pool area are not marked. I saw a number of people, old and young, actually fall on them. It will be a matter of time before someone gets hurt worse.
The resort is a great location, and for beach walkers, you can go for miles. Or you can walk to the shopping center/ Walmart/ Sam's, or the casino. There were alot of families with small children, no night time activities. Pool water was warm enough to swim every day. Very nice.."

"The hotel and staff are excellent. The room was very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and they even had really comfortable pillows (something you usually don't find in most hotels. The only complaint we had about the room is the lack of bathroom privacy.
The restaurants were very good; our favorite was the French restaurant. However, make sure you make reservations early because they fill up fast. The waiters were awesome!!! They were friendly and couldn't do enough to please us. The Mexican restaurant was also very good. The Italian buffet, however, was nothing exciting and not really Italian.
We spend a lot of time around the pool and the wait staff were always right there to take your drink or snack order. They served a lot of fun and colorful drinks. They have plenty of beach towels for your use and the outside bathrooms are very clean!"

"I thought the Hilton was great on so many levels!! This was was my first time taking a vacation by myself and everyone at the Hilton made me feel right at home. I felt very safe both on the hotel grounds and traveling into town.
My room overlooked the ocean and pool-what a beautiful view to wake up to each day.
The food was very very good. I was concerned because of a poor experience at a different all inclusive. I was pleasantly surprised. There is a main buffet where breakfast and lunch are served. Dinner is there as well, but there are a handful of restaurants from which to choose. The Mexican restaurant was wonderful. Don't be fooled by the cuisine because it's not your typical Mexican fare. The French restaurant is good too. Behind the pool is a grill that offers food; burgers, pizza, nachos... I didn't eat there but many people said the burgers were great. There is a lounge located on the 4th floor in the tower adjacent to the main hotel. They have drinks, tapas and an Infiniti pool. Amazing place to watch the sunset while sipping on a cocktail or two.
The hotel is very clean and the staff is extremely helpful. I needed help applying sunscreen to my back and the pool staff helped me whenever needed.
The pool is great and banks up against the beach. I loved it because I could be close to the ocean. What's also nice is the hotel is not overly large so you're not walking and walking to get to the restaurants, pool or beach.
There are no evening shows or entertainment on hotel premises. I didn't mind because I was going for rest and relaxation.
All in all, I was extremely pleased with the hotel, destination, food and value. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. If I go back to Puerto Vallarta, I will definitely stay at the Hilton again.
I hope this review is helpful.

"We completely concur with 'A Recent Traveler' above.
This Hilton seems very well run. The facilities were first-rate. Our room was immaculately clean. The food was very good--some was great. The only area that might be improved is the quality of the martini gin, a minor quibble.
The service was outstanding. At times we almost felt guilty (a Minnesotan thing, I guess) accepting the level of service that the people at this resort provide, and we cannot thank them enough. The quality of the service reflects ,I believe, an attitude on the part of management that values each and every employee and the contributions each makes to make a guest's stay memorable and pleasant. Ours was that and more.

"LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Hilton in PVR!! Great staff Sarah and Hernandez were awesome, the best!!! Very freindly and the Booking staff are wonderful, stayed in the older side of the resort had to move rooms to accomidate the extra we paid for partial ocean view, would have liked the option to see the new side of the resort and make our minds up. Had a great time, great location, close to town and activities, would like a better selection of wine and scotch, also a swim up bar would be a nice addition, however the infinity pool and lounge uptop of the building was a viewers delight, perfecct way to watch the sun set, great music and wonderful staff to attend to what you need. Best resort so far that we can hardly wait to come back too."

"It's a good start for the first Hilton property that I've seen in 15 years in PV, and who cares if its the old holiday inn. This place has been gone through totally. It's not the biggest resort in PV but it all makes up in service. There was not one thing on the service side that I would change. The beds and pillows are some of the best that I have had on the road (90 days a year), the breakfast was just fine and I don't know how big the person is that wrote about not having enough room by the omelet stand, but not true. Don't worry about having a swim up bar up at the rooftop pool, because they (the staff) are more then willing to come to the pool side with what ever you need.
But there are a few things that could be addressed.
1. Internet speed (I think all Hilton properties are this way.)
2. Would agree a little more selection for diner .
3. Sushi does need to be a little better.
Overall, this place is worth the money that their asking.

"We had a wonderful time in Puerta Vallarta. The Hilton was very nice and clean. The Hilton is not a huge hotel which was nice. Everything was close by. The staff was extremely friendly and attentitive. I would definitely recommend tipping the staff poolside. They deserve it! We booked an excursion through the Hilton and it was great! I would recommend Rhythm of the Nights excursion. The staff at the Hilton even let us know what we should be paying for taxi rides depending on where we were going. I thought that was nice because they're looking out for you. Watch the sunset from the adult only pool......very romantic! All in all, this was a perfect trip! I would most definitely go back."

"The food was terrible! The best tasting item was the hamburger at our pool side service. We actually took taxis to town and ate in town. As my husband said, 'What do you expect for $200 per night?' Service at the pool was great but we did give nice tips so not sure if that made a difference. The rooms that are remodeled, not new, do not have a solid door on the bathroom so the odor fills the entire room. The front desk and concierge were great!"

"We just returned from a week at the PV Hiliton & had a wonderful time. The rooms were very comfortable, & the service was outstanding. We had exceptional service from the girl at the pool (she kept us well-supplied with beverages & was very sweet) and from the front desk. Food at all the restaurants was delicious, & the wait staff were very accommodating.
We did have a problem trying to keep the thermostat at a comfortable temperature in our room & sometimes had a problem with the ceiling fan remote. It would be nice if there were a few evening activities & more water activities (i.e., availability to check out floats for the pool & boogie boards & other fun 'toys' for the ocean)."

"Although the staff was wonderful, and the service great, the overall experience was not as good as other resorts in Mexico. This 'New' Hilton is actually a refurbished Holiday Inn. New paint and tiles, but hotel is not actually 'new'. Those reviewers who gave this hotel a 5 star ratings have obviously never stayed in a 5 star hotel in Mexico.
-The food was mediocre to begin with, with little choices. The French restaurant was the best of the choices. Buffet was a joke - who puts the breakfast buffet where the line is to make omelets? Very dysfunctional set up - not logical at all for any of the meals.
-no swim up bar or place to hang out at the pool. No music except for the water aerobics.
-no bathtubs, and the shower was very slippery with no mat in the shower. No shower robes or slippers - all things you would expect at a 4-5 star resort.
-They were not prepared for the post holiday rush - not enough lounge chairs or umbrellas on beach or by pool, not enough servers for restaurants or bars.
-New Years celebration was the best part. They really went out of their way to make it a nice evening.
-The adults only rooftop bar was nice, but sushi is not up to standards - if you eat sushi, you will know what I mean.
-Although the staff was helpful and kind, they were over worked and tired.
-The beach was great and you could walk for a nice long time.
Overall, the resort was nice but there are certainly better places to stay in Puerto Vallarta.

"Just returned from a week away at the Hilton PV - what a wonderful time! It was the perfect family vacation - the kids club was staffed with professional, caring ladies and I felt very comfortable leaving my 5 year old daughter in their care. She looked forward to returning every day!
The staff were very friendly, the rooms and grounds were clean and first class. The food was great and the three 'fine dining' restaurants were excellent as well. We especially enjoyed the French restaurant, went there a few times.
We have travelled to many all inclusives in Mexico and this was the best by far. You just can't go wrong here as a family getaway."

"What an outstanding resort the Hilton Puerto Vallarta is! Three women traveled Dec. 13-20 for 7 nights all girl week of sun and fun. This was the first time any of us had traveled to Puerto Vallarta and the first time at an all inclusive resort, although all of us are very seasoned travelers.
The front desk personnel are so very friendly and speak excellent English. They are extremely helpful and gave us much good advice and took care of every request. Christian was particularly wonderful and is definitely an asset to the resort. We felt that they all genuinely cared that we were having a great time.
The bellman Carlos showed us to our room and was so welcoming. After unloading our luggage and showing us around our room, I said that it was not what I thought I had booked as we were suppose to have a hide-a-bed couch in addition to the 2 double beds. He called the front desk and spoke in Spanish to them, straightened it all out, and then took us to a different room. He even took our room keys and went down to the front desk to get them changed and brought the right keys back up to us. He contacted housekeeping about getting the hide-a-bed made up with bedding, etc.
Housekeeping did a wonderful job. They happily delivered to our room whatever we asked. Since there were 3 of us we asked for 2 more luggage racks, another chair and ottoman for our balcony, more women's slippers, more kleenex, more coffee cups, some drink glasses, some teabags, etc. They brought clean towels whenever we asked. The room and bathroom were always very clean each day.
The stocked mini refrigerator in our room was a really nice touch. After the first day we realized we were not going to drink the beer or the regular soda. The front desk said they would have it stocked every day with just Diet Coke and bottled water. Everyone at the resort just went out of their way to accommodate each guest's desires.
We really enjoyed the restaurants. The wait staff was absolutely over the top. They did whatever they could for you. We enjoyed talking to them, escpecially our waiter. He worked so hard and was so knowledgeable about the different dishes. His English was perfect too! He really made our dining experience enjoyable. There were so many choices at the Seafire Grill. The wait staff would explain what the Mexican dishes were and if they were 'too hot' for us Americans! We ate at the French restaurant once, the Mexican restaurant twice, and Fogo (the Brazillian restaurant twice) and enjoyed all of them. The portions at the French restaurant were small but you could order whatever you wanted. I had two appetizers and two desserts one night. No problem! We never did order room service as we were always too full!
The bartenders were fabulous. They made whatever you asked. Sometimes we would walk by the lobby bar and the bartender would remember what we had ordered the day before and ask if we'd like one. The mango margaritas were our favorite!
The pool wait staff were fabulous too. They came around very often and asked if we wanted something. We saw that they even delivered food and snacks to the lounge chairs but we were always too full to order any.
We definitely enjoyed the pool. It was not too crowded when we were there in December. The activities staff organized water aerobics and the people seemed to be enjoying it. I had brought an air mattress along with me and the activity staff guy blew it up for me. I thought the resort should invest in an air compressor, but he said he had 'big lungs' and could do it himself! So accommodating!
We went on three excursions while we were there. We bought them through the lobby desk. She was terrific. Her knowledge of each one was so helpful and her English was excellent. She wrote down exactly what time to get a taxi and and where we needed to go to catch the boat or bus. She gave us advice on what to wear which was so helpful. We would highly recommend doing some excursions. We alternated them with days at the pool so we had some variety during the week.
The only downfall to the HIlton is that there is no evening entertainment. Once we realized this we just made dinner reservations for about 8:00 and so made dining be our evening event which was just fine. Also the ATM machine was not online and working yet. The front desk staff told us where we could go to get money which worked out fine, just not quite as convenient. The Hilton does charge for internet access in the room, but it is free in all of the public areas. The front desk gave me the password and so I just used my laptop in the lobby area. There were 3 computers available for guest use in the lobby, but when I tried to use one the @ sign on the computer #1 didn't work so I couldn't send any email. They also need to put a TV channel guide in the guest rooms as well as a Celsius to Farenheit conversion chart. We had a difficult time trying to get the right temperature set on the thermostat for the air conditioning.
Overall it was a fantastic 7 night vacation and we all definitely want to return. I would highly recommend it!

"We have stayed at a multitude of hotels in puerto vallarta. Usually 2-3 a year over a 10 year period. This is the best so far! Started off with just dropping by the hotel and the front desk clerk took us on a tour. He is made for the front desk! Very personable, professional and guess what we actually didn't feel like we were inconveniencing him. Excellent first impression of Hotel! We booked on line and arrived a few days later.
The room was beautiful, the grounds are elegant, pool area great, lovely view of ocean, top shelf drinks, clean, friendly, food was really good. Internet was extra but reasonable and it worked throughout hotel including room. Our waiter that we describe as the best waiter we have ever had! Seriously professional. Good gym on site. Really only negative thing I could think of is that we tried to book at a restaurant around 1pm one day and couldnt get in...but thats it. So still a 10/10 in our books and we are seasoned. :) "

"It was our first time in Puerto Vallarta. Hotel was beautiful and very nice, food was great, drinks were amazing. We really loved the infiniti pool, breezway lobby, and OMG the sunset on the beach was a breath taking. Drinks and staff were very very good. We were very surprised to see all bars serving top shelf drinks, staff were extremely friendly. The only negative thing we noticed the whole time we were there was bars closing at midnight and no nightlife music. Eventhough, we notice hotel has a nice small night club inside but it was not open at all. I really recomend a swim up bar and a little nightlife. This would make the location a perfect place."

"We just returned from our trip at PV Hilton and it was a great experience. We had three rooms booked for our whole family and we all enjoyed the hotel , the food , the staff were all excellent. The hotel location is good in the hotel zone 15 minutes by cab from downtown. Beach is clean and good sand, lots of room to throw football around. Check in was fast they had our info and made it easy. Most employees spoke reasonable English. We would stay there again!! Rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel is smaller in size so you don't compete for beach chairs etc.
There were a very few minor hiccups that the hotel fixed right away.

"This was a very nice hotel. It was our first all-inclusive trip, so we didn't know what to expect. We stayed 5 nights in a jacuzzi suite. We had a wonderful view of the ocean and the room itself was gorgeous. The hotel was nicely laid out and spacious and very modern looking. The staff is also very friendly.
The food was really good. The buffet changed it's menu daily, and while it had some of the same staples at every meal, there was always something new to try, which was nice. The restaurants on site were also very nice, and my husband and I really enjoyed the French restaurant.
My only complaint would be that they don't give you a brochure or anything of what is available on on the hotel premises and where they are. We did not know until our last day that there was a little coffee shop with some deserts that was there, and it took us 2 days to discover the adults-only rooftop area. But, this is a pretty minor complaint, as the place is so new and I'm sure they're still figuring things out themselves.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to friends and my husband and I are really pleased with our experience."

"Just got home from 5 nights at the Hilton in Puerto Vallarta with my wife. Overall, it was a good experience.
A few things about my wife and I: We're not 'high class' in the sense that we don't o to fancy restaurants very often or expect people to wait on us hand and foot. If you are that type of person, this review may not apply to you. This was our first experience at an all inclusive.
Looks:
The place is clean, has a simple modern style that is easy on the eyes, has two lovely main swimming pools, and has an overall curving, rounded style (it's not blockish). It definitely feels high class. The view from the swimming pool and from many of the eating areas includes the ocean and beachfront.
Rooms:
Our room was the cheapest option, and had a view of the neighboring hotel Krystal's rooftops. Still, it wasn't a bad view, and we didn't spend hardly any time in our room anyways. The room itself was very clean, comfortable, and elegant. All the plumbing was excellent and it had a nice big shower. There was a small fridge loaded with some drinks, a few snacks, and a safe. The TV was plenty big for the room (I was able to watch some football in Spanish). Overall, very satisfied.
The Food:
Overall, the food was solid to excellent. We never had any food that was awful. Sometimes, the fish was a tad overcooked, and many of the pastries were just average, but most of the snacks, cheeses, main courses, were good. There's a buffet that has a pretty good variety, including a kids area with a few options. You could eat at the buffet all the time, but you also have the option to go to one of the restaurants. We tried the French, Brazilian, and Mexican restaurants. They were all solid, but the Mexican was the best for my wife and I. Tortilla soup was fantastic.
The Drinks:
Perfectly good. From others I spoke with, the drinks at the Hilton were better than many other places they had stayed (not watered down, decent bartenders, etc.). They had a good variety, including mid-grade vodka, whiskeys, and many other options. Beers were limited to Corona and Pacifico, which is fine, we are in Mexico after all.
The Service:
Excellent. People were friendly in all aspects. The waiters were all really kind without being fake. If you took a moment to talk with them, they were open and friendly. I left tips (20 pesos or so) at most meals, but even the times I didn't they were very nice. The bartenders were competent had some great suggestions for drinks (I'd recommend the 'Bull'). There always seemed to be someone nearby when we needed anything.
Entertainment/To Do:
This was where some might find this place lacking. There were plenty of pool chairs and lounge chairs both around the pool and on the beach. There was also a nice little pool on the 4th floor of one wing, where you could get a more intimate setting. In those regards, this hotel was just fine. However, there was not much in the way of sports equipment (boogie boards, etc.) or nightly entertainment (bands, etc). There was a volleyball net that looked to be shared with another hotel, but that was about it.
As far as kids entertainment, there was a playground and a kids program where some of the staff would take the kids around on treasure hunts, show them videos, and other activities, but it was probably on a much smaller scale than other, bigger hotels.
Distance from activities:
The Hilton is a 5 minute walk from the Marina, where there are a lot of adventure activities, such as snorkeling. In that sense, the location was great.
To get to the interesting downtown areas, you had to either take a cab for about 60 pesos or jump on a bus for 8 pesos. It's about 10 minutes.
Overall:
I'd recommend it. Food was decent to good, the place was clean and modern, the staff was really friendly, and the amenities were totally fine for a smaller hotel. Those looking for more built-in entertainment would be somewhat disappointed.

"This hotel is absolutely gorgeous!!! We were given an upgrade to a jacuzzi suite because we were on our anniversary with a personalized welcome card & fruit tray. This suite was beautiful with two balconies that overlooked both the pool & the ocean! The people were overly nice and happy to assist in any way. I will admit that I was not super ecstatic with the food but I am not sure if it is the difference in culture or not. So I think there could be a bit more variety but the presentation of it was phenomenal. And the rooftop lounge is a must see!"

"We had an awesome week at the Hilton Hotel Puerto Vallarta. The resort was small but very nice. The people very friendly and helpful. The food was great. The view was priceless. We missed connecting with the reservation guy in the lobby the first day so trying to connect was a bit difficult because the phone rang and rang with no answer but then he was there when we checked out so it worked out fine. Thank you. "

"We were looking so forward to spending New Years at this resort. We checked the reviews and were excited to see good ones. Unfortunately what we got was a nightmare. There was sewer backup in many of the rooms, the uneaten food was re served the next day, fights were taking place at the pool over loungers and umbrellas- they even had the nerve to try to charge a few guests extra for the New Years Eve buffet. The food was so bad we actually gave up and paid to eat out at restaurants. We were never able to get coffee re stocked in the room, nor the other amenities. We could not even eat anywhere other than the buffet. They were saying they were booked- but only 5 tables were ever occupied the night we tried to book. We were shocked when guests from other hotels were able to walk in off the street and get tables and waited on before we could. Even wrote a multi page letter to Hilton President and also Faxed it to headquarters with NO response. For 800 a night I expected better from Hilton!! Save yourself the hassle and the money and stay somewhere else. i know I nor many of the guests we spoke with have no intention of EVER returning to this hotel again. Even the Manager could not be bothered to be there!"

"The Hilton PV is a nice new place to go, but it has a lot to change in order for it to be a truly great vacation destination. First of all, the positives. The wait staff was exceptional and, for an all inclusive, the food was great. The French restaurant was really special and we should have gone there more often. Buffet meals were above average and occasionally very good. Cocktails available were not limited to the usual marginal brands and very generous. The neagatives, and the reasons we would not recommend.
The 'childrens pool' is not enforced and kids can go in the adult pool, causing all sorts of noise when you are trying to relax. There was a large corporate group at the hotel after our first day. They were allowed to basically take over the facilities with the assistance of the hotel. Beachfront lounge areas are very limited to start with (120 feet wide?) but, after the corp. events got started, all beachfront lounges were removed and replaced with tables and chairs for the sole use of the corp. guests and there was nowhere to hang out adjacent to the beach for the rest of the paying guests. Stupid.
The worst offense, however, is that the alleged 'non smoking' hotel is a joke. The only place you can't smoke is in your room. All other areas are fair game for smokers, including ALL RESTAURANTS, the entire pool area, common areas, etc. Completely inexcusable in this day and age. There should be an enforced designated smoking area not infringing on the nonsmoking public. And, there were a lot of smokers there...maybe 70% of guests? Would not go back for this reason alone. If you like to breathe smoke while you are trying to have a nice meal, it is a great destination resort. If this was changed, I'd go back. Otherwise, no thanks."

"Arrived on new years at %pm our room was not ready until 7:30pm ...no towels mini bar was not stocked. called front desk no one ever came. had to go find a maids cart and take towels off of it,. NO HOT water in shower the entire visit. This hilton is designed with awesome rooms. I can not say the designer knew his/her stuff. However the management needs to go. I asked to speak with the manager after a horrible check in experience. I was told by front desk that NO MANAGER was on duty because it was NEW YEARS EVE. The hotel is new but if you look close you can tell it is being neglected. floors and window are dirty. This is an all inclusive which surprised me by being a Hilton, TONS AND TONS of screaming kids all day all night! I was eager to stay there because of the Hiltons Gyms. Not this one it looked like a super 8 hotel gym extremely disappointed.! need less to say we decided to go searching the web and found a nice quiet oceanfront condo in the romantic section of town . what turned out to be a nightmare of a vacation turned out to be awesome because we left this disneyland! I really think the Hilton who I always respected as a high end hotel should change the name of this Puerto Vallerta mess or hire a new general manager for this property. It is sad to such a beautiful facility go down so quickly."

"We had a wonderful time on our trip in December. Everyone on the staff seemed to go out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed! The activities directors came around every day to let us know what was going on that day, and encouraged us to join in. The Sea Fire Restaurant was great! The cook, at the Sushi bar, was a joy to watch-dancing every afternoon when we went up to watch the sunset-which was beautiful! Waitresses, were so friendly, always checking to make sure you were not dehydrating. The waiters at the French, Mexican and Brazilian restaurants, were a pleasure to meet. Everyone at the front desk jumped to assist in any way they could. The only things I would chance is to have music or more nightlife and to have a swim-up bar."
