"You can't beat the location of this clean and friendly hotel. Nothing too fancy here, but for the price it works out very well. The staff was very helpful, the meals were tasty, and the cocktails were just fine. We also used the spa and had a wonderful massage for a reasonable price.

My only complaint's are: the poor wifi. You need to go to the lobby (or very close) to be connected. Also, the only hot-tub is at the spa; which you need to reserve a time slot.

Thanks again to the wounderful staff for providing a clean comfortable place to stay. Well done!

"We love the hotel and it's proximity to downtown. We would never do the all inclusive here again as the food quality and the alcohol was some of the worst that we have ever experienced at any place.

With all the wonderful places to eat in Puerto Vallarta that are within walking distance and very reasonably priced you don't need to do the all-inclusive.

The staff are wonderful and we would return there again just not with the all-inclusive."

"Our trip started with welcome cocktails...and extrememly friendly staff...we had an amazing trip. We went for our anniversary and it was remarkable. There is plenty to do...lots of night entertainment downtown...fantastic food at the hotel and downtown...and the hotel is very clean. The maid service did an outstanding job as did the waitstaff and front desk. The bartender's were happy to make me unlimited mojitios even if it seemed I was the only one there drinking them:) Ti can't beat the sunset from the beach and parasailing and jetskiing are available right there. We fell in love with Puerto Vallarta and felt like we were honeymooning. Thank you BuenAventura!"

"I stayed with two of my buddies on our spring break trip. All we can say is its a great place to stay. Its right in the heart of downtown Puerto Vallarta. The service was amazing and the food was even better. Be sure to make nightly reservations at their Sunset Restraunt and Brazilian Steakhouse. Drinks were never watered down and were always kept full. Rooms were kept very clean by the maids (we usually tipped $3 a day). The hotel has phones to make calls anywhere, a business room with computer and internet, and free wi-fi in the main lobby. Hotel staff was happy and always willing to help. We plan on returning to Puerto Vallarta next year and staying here."

"The place is a bit older, but you don't really look at that considering the scenery. The staff are excellent . The all inclusive is OK, but the food is typical buffet for the most part. There are fabulous rest's nearby. Highly recommend 'Trio' rest as well as Cafe Isabel. This place is definitely a nice place to stay at! I would stay here again"

"The chef in this resort is top notch. Each entry is exceptional in its preparation and presentation. Overall, I felt welcome and safe. This resort is just the right size. We were able to became 'part of the family' with all the staff and they were able to learn our names. Every staff member is outstanding; the lady with the friendly smile cooking the lunch outside, the very beautiful and gracious hostess ay the buffet, the members of the staff who organize the competitions and activities. We had fun! I did not give full marks for 'cleanliness' because our room had an musty ordor. We also had to wait a day for a key for our safe. The resort is within walking distance of downtown Pto Vallarta and there is a lot to see. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks Buenaventura, we'll be back."

"Our trip to the Buenaventura Grand Hotel in Puerto Vallarta was one of the best vacations we have had. All the hotel staff were great, food was excellent, location of the hotel is perfect. A 10 miinute walk puts you right in the middle of town. Only negative I can share with everyone is that there is no internet in the rooms. You have to access it in the lobby.

We plan to return again in a year.

"I stayed at the Buenaventura Hotel 12/21/11 - 12/28/11 with my adult daughter, and had a great time. We decided to go with the all~inclusive, which I highly recommend; as you will save hundreds! I found out that Christmas dinner at the buffet was $45 a person if you're not; seriously not worth it! All inclusive is the ONLY way to go! It also includes all alcohol too, and we all know how expensive that can get. I did find the hard alcohol to be just a bit watered down, so I suggest drinking beer or wine. They have a very smooth white wine, which I had with dinner every night. They have two other restaurants to choose from, but the buffet is just as good, and not so stuffy! If you don't like what you took to eat the first time, you can at least go back and get something else!

TIPPING: It says your tips are included when going all inclusive, BUT I found out that the tip is minimal and has to be shared with ALL WAIT STAFF AND COOKS! That makes a very small tip, so found locals leaving 20pescos which is about $2 US, unless you are with a group of 6 or more!!! I also left about $10 US, for the maid, as she seriously did a great job keeping our room clean. I even caught her cleaning the top of the doors, OK!

You can't get change without your ID, if at a bank you need your passport! I don't know why, you just do. Just an FYI!

The food was good, not great; the service was very good, ALL of the employees are extremely friendly and try hard at their English as we worked at our Spanish, and they remember who you are! The Activities Personnel were fabulous! There was entertainment all day long with tequila water vollyball, yoga, a water balloon toss, etc!, and some sort of entertainment every evening. Karaoke, Comedy, Poker, and lots of entertainment for the children!

There was only one thing that I didn't like about the hotel, and that was the placement of our room. We were in room 1455, along the outside wall of the hotel, along a side street! OMG! Got woke up a lot! Couldn't afford to go out late, for fear of getting woke up at 2am from extremely loud music, with lots of base. I don't know about you, but it's hard to go back to sleep sometimes! And sleeping in the sun, is not a good idea unless you want to go to the emergency room with a severe sunburn! Walls are too thin, I would ask to stay on the other side of the hotel.
