"Over an hour to check in was horrible. Buyer beware of the discount coupons they give you at check in. This is a time share facility and we were flat out lied to about redeeming the coupons more than once. Our ocean front room was lovely. Room was clean and we found the food O.K. Nothing to right home about. We had his and her manicures which were ok, but they did not have any drying machines. Slow service for drinks at the pool bars."

"We had paid for 'Oceanview' and they put us in a standard room with a construction site view. I thought the cleaning of the room was below average. The sneakiness of them outing us in a room that was LESS than what we had paid for was LOW. The exchange of USD for pesos was always in their favor. The excursions were done by a 3rd party company that Jade didn't ensure practiced good honest business. Stay away from the travel place that books excursions
. Our phone didn't work for 2 days and they said they would fix it. The Internet is doesn't work in all rooms.
The restaurants practiced poor food handling and had cross cantaminated things all the time.
Overall-I'd give this resort a half a star. Stay away."

"I wouldn't recommend this all-inclusive resort to my friends based on my experience. The 200 extra dollars in resort credits we were suppose to receive were very deceiving and not as advertised. Food was just OK at one of the restaurants Capers The service was so bad and was my 50th birthday. Beware and go somewhere else."

"Resort Credits are deceiving...
'Free green fee', however cart fee is $50/pp, golf resort transportation is ~$30, and you can only play after 1pm. Rentals are $55, so if you play with a friend be prepared to spend at least $150 ..not exactly 'free'.
- Broken light bulb in room, fridge was not fully stocked when we arrived - no water, beer missing, shower handle was broken, water temperature is not consistent/accurate and fluctuates between hot/cold - (which is a lawsuit waiting to happen)
- Private restaurants have ridiculously long waits and they don't accept reservations (and we could clearly see vacant tables inside the restaurant)
- Understaffed resort
- We stayed for 5 days, but room service only cleaned/refreshed our room on 1 day. We had to call and ask for them to refresh our room on the second to last day
- There's 24 hour room service which is great, but the food quality is on par with microwavable dinners
- On our first day there at the first restaurant we went to, they ran out of Guacamole and Corona Lights. Not a good way to start off the experience ESPECIALLY during Spring Break week which is peak season - they should be prepared for this. (Would you expect McDonalds to run out of 'coke' or 'french fries'?)
- The only positive experience about the stay was who helped with entertainment.

"We just returned from a five night stay at the Now Jade Resort. The resort was absolutely amazing: most of the food was great, the beach was amazing, the service was exceptional, especially the beach server, and the resort was clean and fresh. The worst part of the vacation was the fact that we had to leave.
The only slightly negative comment that I have is that the FREE room service food could have been a little bit better. Like many resorts, there were people who were trying to set up time share tours, but this should be expected at any resort and the Now Jade was not overly pushy in trying to set up the tours. The hotel shopping areas were inflated and the ATM fees were high%u2014but again this is something that people should expect in tourist areas, so it was not an issue for us.
We ate at every restaurant and all the food was scrumptious. The breakfast buffet and Cin Cin were our favorite spots to eat. I also loved the Café, which was like a mini Starbucks. Plus, the alcoholic drinks were amazing (ask the lobby bartender for a Havannah Temptation).
There is free wind sailing, kayaking, shows and so much more%u2014take advantage of it. Give tips to the staff, even a dollar for every round of drinks. Trust me, it is worth the extra service you get. You can tip in pesos or USD. Just remember to take small bills or ask for small pesos.
We took a cab to Puerto Moreles for only $10 each way and it was well worth it. If you want to take home souvenirs, travel to Puerto Moreles and negotiate with the locals. Walk around the flea markets first %u2013 the ones on the outskirt of the town are the best.
We loved this resort and will return next year.

"Our trip was from 2/10/13 thru 2/17/13. Let first start off by saying the staff @ Now Jade are full of hospitality and kindness so thank you to all that waited on us and helped us during our stay. I read some bad reviews on this resort and some of the things other people have said I just can't believe it. We did upgrade to preferred and I'm glad we did. Our room was nice and we did have a noise from our air conditioner and they did fix it right away. The musty smell everyone talks about is from the humidity and the ocean. Kinda hard to control Mother Nature don't you think. Thank you to all of our lady's that cleaned or room. They always took care of our needs. The sales people in the lobby that work for AM Resorts they are pushy @ first and if the first time there it does seem like they are with the hotel but when you here them tell you you will get a free breakfast and a 140.00 credit just tell them no your not interested and they will leave you alone. However I am glad my girlfriend and I went to it because we did get a wonderful package thru AM Resorts and we will be able to go to these places for about 1/2 the price we just paid for this trip. So Hanz thank you. As for the beach it is rocky and you do see seaweed from time to time but again what do you expect it's a ocean and do they get hurricanes? And doesn't hurricanes stir up the bottom of the ocean? The beach has soft white sand and is kept cleaned. I saw them every day out on my balcony cleaning the beach and everything else. Our adult pool was sooo nice and relaxing. Thank you!! The concierge is a good place to start your morning off with coffee and pastries. The restraunts were good. Received excellence service @ them. The buffet in the morning was my favorite because we went outside on the deck and got to see my waiter almost every morning. Was nice having it outside by the ocean. Thank you for being so nice and making us laugh! The spa was good for the price. Made my husband a believer for his first time. As for being secluded it is and the only transportation is a taxi out of there. It is 90.00 round trip to Cancun or playa del Carmen. So if you don't want to be secluded this resort isn't for you. Over all we had a blast!! You make a trip out to be what you want it to be."

"We have travelled to many resorts and my rating is based on other places that we have stayed in Cancun and Caribbean. The resort is average in quality of room and food. Our room was a tropical view but on the fourth floor so we had an open balcony and view. Many of the floors on the lower floors had balcony views completely covered by trees. We could hear the construction noise early in the morning so I would definitely not stay on the side of building one or two facing the construction. The beds are really uncomfortable with cheap or old thin mattresses. The beach was nice but crowded and often all of the chairs were taken or 'reserved' with a towel. The pool deck was the same way in the afternoons. The resort will serve drinks poolside but does not allow any food out of the restaurants - no take out, beach or pool service for food. This can be inconvenient to dress and go into the restaurant mid day to eat. Most of the food was fair quality, pretty much the quality you get on a buffet. The hibachi grill food at Spice was terrible - order off the menu. The Tamorindo and Mercure food were fair. The fish tacos and guacamole at Castaways are good and the Carnival buffet is good for breakfast. There is also a coffee shop that was great for cappuccinos and iced coffee. Overall, we would have spent less at a nicer resort and buying our meals."

"We went to Now Jade on our honeymoon. They treated us like a king and queen. The room was beautiful. However, we had specifically asked that our room be oceanside -- they gave us oceanview instead - balcony faced garden, not ocean. They upgraded but at a fee which was disappointing. The food was excellent. The beverages in mini-fridge were not as cold as we would like but we just put it on ice. We took advantage of the spa - used coupons yet fee above that was pricy but worth it. We also used the photo shop for a photo shoot -- great photography work. Very quiet. Construction was going on next door but that is just part of it and could not be helped. Very clean facility. I would say only downfall is not close to any town if you wanted to see any sites but that was not our purpose of this trip. Did not like that they attempt to get you to do a 90 minute site tour to book another trip there. I would not hesitate to go back though! Beautiful weather and location."

"The food was disappointing especially breakfast and lunch with cafeteria style buffet the only available options. Even the exclusive club food wasn't much better. I was not even mildly impressed with any of these options. Suppers were quite good. Room service food options were also fairly weak.
Beach swimming is quite rocky which is hard to swim in especially when the waves are up. The pools were all icy cold, too cold for us and for other guests we talked with.
Rooms were very nice and comfortable. deck was a nice place to hang out. Jacuzzi tubs were very nice.
Property is small and quite isolated so unless you want to strictly do the pool or beach there was not much to go and do or see.
There is very little to do in the evenings. There is a 'nigh club' which is a sports bar during the day but it's a pretty weak scene and only saw any action on a couple nights there. Those nights were good but otherwise it was depressing.
Internet is expensive and the signal is the worst I've ever had. Hard to get on and deathly slow.

"This resort is not as good as expected and not worth the money I spent.
I booked two ocean front view rooms, but at the beginning resort gave my family construction front view rooms. After I complained with the front desk representative, my family got two better view rooms.
It said all inclusive, but at the Christmas Eve the buffet has to be paid and reserved, otherwise most of the guests have to wait after 9:00pm to get Christmas dinner from 3 small available restaurants since they were very busy to serve so many guests. My 76 years old parents and 10 years old son were so hungry at the Christmas Eve.
I won't recommend anyone to stay there for their vacation."

Dorothy Brooks from Urbana, IL
"I had booked this hotel due to it being highly recommended by several people and the price was very affordable. We had booked a garden view room but, when we got there they said our 1st floor room would overlook the water treatment & sanitation plant which was not a very desirable area. We decided to pay the extra to upgrade to an oceanview room since that was the only other option they gave us. They also talked us into going to a presentation of their vacation club when we checked in. They really push for this at the hotel and it will take you no less than 2 hours to go through They do not like to take no for an answer either.
Once we got our upgraded room it was beautiful, on the 4th floor with a great view. We had trouble with our room getting made up every day though and had to call every day for this service. You might want to take your own shampoo, conditioner and lotion since theirs all smells like bathroom cleaner. We noticed a bad odor a couple of days real bad in our room and the hallway (sewer smell) they actually had to shut off the water to the entire hotel for 6 hours one morning which was not too convenient, as this is when we normally took a shower and you were not able to use the toilets or anything. We were told they had a major problem with the water system. We have never run across a problem like this in the many resorts that we have stayed in within the Riviera Maya in the last 15 years.
I was given a resort credit of $200 which I was told could be used towards anything including room upgrades, etc. This resort credit is only good towards a certain amount in the spa, for wine or dining on the beach and we do not do any of these. None of the amounts would have covered these items, it would have been extra for them. We also had free golf but, it costs you $75 for the cart, let alone the cost of getting there. They really didn't give us anything here, it was very misleading.
I must say the food was mostly very good, especially the french and japanese restaurants. The buffet for breakfast was just ok. We also went to eat at the mexican fiesta they had one night before the show and it was not that great. Service at the buffet, the bars and the french restaurant in the morning was not good at all. It seems that quite a few servers expect tips which we do not mind giving if the service is good. The shows though were quite good and they had a nice variety.
The pools that they have are very cold, almost unbearable so and they are small, since they are not connected. There were not a lot of people who got in them. The swimup bar is also a joke, as there is usually no one working on the pool side. You had to get out to get a drink. The beach is very rocky in places, although there is an area towards the marina that is not bad to get in the water.
There seemed to be at least one wedding every day which is nice. The only thing is, they sometimes would close down an entire bar or restaurant area for the wedding party and there were not that many places to choose from. These groups were generally in the range from 20-40 people. There were also quite a few families with very small children which I don't mind but, they were quite noisy at meals and was very disruptive.
I have stayed at worse places down here but, I do not know why this one comes so highly recommended compared to others we have stayed at. Don't think I would really go back."

"We go to Mexico every year. This was the first time we stayed at Now Jade and will not go back! My husband and I don't complain but this resort is not worth the money! The food was always cold and room service food was ice cold. We had a tropical view and it was trees, you could see nothing else. The bugs were bad and we only seen them spray once in the 11 days we were there! The shops did not have a big variety of items but that was fine because it was very expensive! Cost $3.00 for a snickers bar! We had a good time but will not return."

"It was a nice stay for a week at Now Jade. We upgraded to the preferred room for an additional $40 per day. The free internet was practically useless because most of the time internet connection could not be established in our room. However, the room was much larger. There was a different 45 minute Broadway-type show or dance performance every evening at 8:00pm, and an extra fire and water show on Wednesday evening. Compared with those in a cruise ship, the lighting and sound system were not as good, and the dance company was smaller. However, usually there would be only two and rarely three such shows in a one-week cruise, but there was one at Now Jade every evening. Besides, there were other activities; but we did not participate in most of them because of lack of time. We went to Puerto Morelos for a wedding of a relative in Azul Beach Hotel near by. In comparison, Azul Beach was more beautifully decorated than Now Jade in the exterior. However, Azul Beach was about twice more expensive and there were much less hotel-sponsored activities at Azul Beach. For example, there were no dance shows or performances at Azul Beach at all. Also there were more restaurants at Now Jade than Azul Beach. There was buffet dinner at Now Jade until 11:00pm, but not at Azul Beach. The thing we do not like is the service, which we rank poor compared with that in a cruise ship. Our friends told us that the service was poor at Azul Beach as well."

"We have stayed in many other all inclusive resorts in Cancun. We usually go once a year for our Anniversary. We're not the type of people who complain just to complain either. We weren't impressed with Now Jade. Housekeeping was fine, the resort was clean. The dinner shows were also nice. The buffet was pretty bad. The same food every morning, usually cold. Dinners varied however we learned many new ways to make chicken. The other restaurants were ok, we liked the Italian the best. There was always a wait at the Mexican. Room service always came cold and the menu was small. The 'dance club' was a '70's type of place on the second floor of a building. If you didn't know it was there you missed it. All our resort info was written in Spanish. We felt the staff basically didn't understand English too well and spoke very broken English.back. There were days they ran out of towels at the pools and at one pool there was no wait staff. There were many weddings while we were there so there was a lot of loud people in the hall ways late at night. We wanted to upgrade to a Preferred room but there wasn't one so we upgraded to Ocean View. The room was nice, the view was nice also. It was $34 to shop in Cancun or Playa Del Carmen. We won't be going back. Would rather spend the extra $$ and get what you pay for!!"

"The trip was for our 25th wedding anniversary. Food was overall good, wait staff was good, hotel property was good. Too much pressure to visit and purchase a 'travel club'. It was suppose to be 1 1/2 hrs and ended up 3 hours. High pressure to make a decision at that time to commit. Also, walked in from the pool one afternoon to find the maid in our room....which had already been cleaned.....she was supposed to switch out the coffee pot. We waited 22 hours for a response and had to contact them ourselves. Would not return! Also, heard other guests complaining that they had booked an ocean front room and had a room that looked out on to a wall....no water in sight. An elderly couple (he in a wheelchair) were sent to 3 rooms after a full day of travel. One no a.c. ....the other.....water leaking down the wall. Finally, on the 3rd try they got it right. Spending that much money you should have a stay that is stress free!"

"This was me and my wifes first real vacation, our 10 year annv. Im very glad i made NOW JADE our destination. This resort was everything we needed. I have read a lot of the reviews and there are people who just have to complain about everything. There is ample food availible throughout the day. The food was spot on. I will say the portions are a little small, but if it is not enough order room service. Our favs were Spice and Capers. Booked a snorkeling and 1/2 day fishing charter. the snorkeling was fun and got some good video. It was not as clear as i thought it would be, but still had fun. The marina is just a walk down the path to go fishing. I caught a nice red snapper and a yellow tail snapper. I brought the fish back to the resort and the prepared the fish for us for dinner, wow! that was awesome.staff at the preferred pool bar were great. take some dollar bills it goes along way. STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS!"

"The Resort as a whole is very nice. There is a lack of information for guest on activities and a lot of the Staff don't know what is going on either. The dinning hours are not setup very well to many times in the day you can't get food except room service. The Mini Bar is not, unless you call 4 cans a beer a bar. All the stores and venders have their prices set way too high. The roadsways back to the resorts are in very bad shape and if you don't have back problems you will if you travel in and out very often. The coupons they give you are a waste.rnAt the end of the check in, another person will take you to a desk and tell you about a promotion going on. They will take you to another resort (Dreams I think is what it was), eat breakfast at that resort and give you a tour. It is supposed to be 2 hours or so long... IT'S NOT!!!!! Process takes about 3 hours or more because they try to sell you a vacation club. Sorry I will not spend the cost of joining the club in a life time, and you still have to buy air fare and pay a flat rate for your vacation. My wife and I were DISAPPOINTED!"

"My gf and I stayed from 9/9-9/14. Check in was very smooth and the people are extremely nice. We were given a drink as soon as we walked in and started the check in process. At the end of the check in, another person will take you to a desk and tell you about a promotion going on. They will take you to another resort (Dreams I think is what it was), eat breakfast at that resort and give you a tour. It is supposed to be 2 hours or so long... IT'S NOT!!!!! Process takes about 6 hours or more because they try to sell you a time share. We booked ours and then didnt go because of the reviews I read about on here (thank you). The overall stay was great. The grounds are very well kept, beach is a little rocky in some areas, sometimes there is a smell but I think its just due to groundskeeping, food is great. Spice, the asian restraunt, is the best, in my opinion. DO NOT book the preferred package up front. Wait til you get there because instead of paying $70/night, you will pay $40/night. Its worth the $40 just for the view!!! If you do any excursions, def do the Xplor park. Its incredibly fun but it is a work out, so be prepared to walk several miles. I wouldnt recommend the shopping in Cancun tour. Not really any time to shop and the prices arent all that great. We booked through Apple Vacations, which was through our travel agent. They are incredible. Always on time, very helpful and always nice. The lone downside is they will not give you change for US Dollars. I wanted to change out a $20 for some $5s and $1s.... They would only do it in pesos?!?! I just dont understand how I can give you $200 for something and you give me back $20 in US Dollars but you cant give me change for that $20. Other than that, trip was amazing and I would def go back!"

I have been exposed to an all inclusive across the street from 5th Ave, Playa da Carmen so I might just be spoiled. Not easily accessible to activities and points of interest.
Must admit, staff were very professional and courteous.

"We just got back from our trip and had a decent time. Our room was nice, but our comforter and pillows smelled horrible and were covered in mold. Yes Mold. The 'stocked mini bar' includes bottled water and whatever random soda they have left over on their carts for the day. The food was actually pretty disgusting, the only resturant that was good was the hibachi. Room service food was horrible, everyone that came with us got sick. The 200.00 in resort credits is a joke, you have to spend lots of money to just get 40.00 off. The view and pool was amazing! The bars of course water down the drinks I guess that is expected. Also if you want to be in the middle of the action and close to clubs and nightlife do not stay here. This is 30 minutes away from cancun and one way cab fare is $45.00! Spend the extra money and stay in cancun."

"Overall, we had an excellent stay at the JADE NOW.
Room- Make sure you check out the room before deciding on an upgrade. We took the time and got a room with a great view. Also, there is some construction taking place along the beach so just double check to make sure your view(s) arent obscured.
Food- The buffet was fantastic. There was always something there for us to enjoy and the staff went out of their way to get us (ie habaneros and spaghetti on non-spaghetti nights etc...) anything we wanted. Our server, was hands down the best server on the property. We specifically requested to sit in his section and were never disappointed. His service was better than at any of the a la carte restaurants. The food is obviously of a different quality than in the US but still very high quality. Fruit was fresh, fish was plentiful and meats were abundant. Room service food was also very good on the days we were feeling too lazy to go down to eat.
Room- Our room was clean and well kept. The only minor draw back was the lack of a dresser. However, all the other amenities such as the rainfall shower and jacuzzi tub were in working order. We also had two balconies and a great ocean view. Housekeeping was always prompt for morning and turn down service. In fact, we had to turn our turn down service away several times because we were napping in the late afternoon :)
Service- Overall, service on the property was very good (8). We are not really picky about what kind of service we get just as long as its not bad per se. We did encounter some poor service at times, but these things vary as they do with any property and any individual. However, overall, the service staff was very good, welcoming and nice.
Pool- Preferred club is the only way to go. Its an adult only pool in theory, but we did see some younger people in there a couple times (older teenagers but they were not being boisterous or anything). The pool itself is great and has hammocks and cabanas. The only complaint I would have is the 'relaxation' area policy was not strictly enforced on one day. Over the course of a 7 day stay, there was only one day where we had to move from the adult pool to the kids pool because it was too loud. There were a group of people who were absolutely hammered and yelling across the pool all afternoon. I suppose a solution would be to notify security but Im not sure how much that would have helped. I think in the future, we will go to a more exclusive resort to avoid this kind of 'Spring Break '85' behavior. However, that aside, we loved every minute of the pool and practically spent our time at JADE there.
I would definitely recommend JADE NOW to any one I know. We are planning our next vacation and weve only returned for 2 days. Look forward to going to more AM resort properties and having a great time again."

"We stayed at the Now Jade from 8-2-12 through 8-9-12. Our overall experience was good for the first five days and then we experienced a tropical storm associated with Hurricane Ernesto The beach was closed and the day after the beach was ravaged by the storm. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The bar staff and restaurant staff and servers were amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. Please bring mosquito repellant as a mangrove swamp sits directly in front of the hotel and unbelievably they cut the aircondition in the main lobby off at night around 8PM, open the doors, and let the mosquitos in. Also, the front desk is very slow and you are sent to a vip desk for a time share presentation right after checking in. Taxi service is $45 each way to Cancun which is 22 miles away. Take away the negatives and you are in for a good time."

"Couldn't believe we got there on time and sat around for 45 minutes before they finally told us they didn't have a room for us! Sent us to another place but we actually lost a day because of travel and unpacking, etc. Entertainment wasn't at the time advertised on the bulletin board. Sprinkler system smells like sewer and they water during the day when guests are trying to enjoy the pool, eat and stroll the sidewalks. Had housekeeping service in room (sometimes late in the day) but hallways, etc. were not very clean.
Spice Restaurant was a great hibachi grill experience. Food was good overall."

"My wife and I went for 14 year anniversary. Excellent resort with prime service. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and bedding were clean. Food and restaurants were fantastic. Beach was beautiful with fine golden sand. Water was crystal clear and the rocky coral was minimal. I would still recommend water shoes.
My only real complaint was that the pools close at 7pm. My wife and I really enjoy swimming in the evening and we couldn't do this.
And by the way, DO NOT go to the 'tour' of another resort. They offer you $200 dollars in spa or discount on another trip if you do this but it is a TRAP! They told us it would take 2 hours. Instead we were trapped at this other resort for SEVEN HOURS while we were harassed to buy into a vacationing club which we declined at least a dozen times and still never purchased for $19k!! We couldn't leave because they taxied us there and we were forced to stay until they had exhausted every manager to attempt getting us to buy. This nearly ruined the already short trip for us.
Other than that, the trip was wonderful."

"My kids and I just returned from a week at Now Jade. We had such a great time! The staff are so attentive and friendly!! I have to commend them on their service. The bartenders and waiters work so hard at providing non stop beverages to the guests and the drinks were refreshing and strong. I paid for the preferred lounge and did enjoy going in for refreshments and use of the wireless service but really feel in this day and age it should be offered free to all guests like at some other resorts. I felt safe to let my teenagers come and go from our room and they loved ordering room service whenever they pleased.
My only slight complaint it that by 9AM guests place items on most of the poolside beach chairs with shade and despite saying this wasn't allowed I didn't see any unattended items removed. One day 5 chairs had books on them all day long and I NEVER saw anyone sit on them, not once. It was very frustrating. It was great that the beach chairs on the sand were always available however.
It was exactly what I wanted from a vacation and the staff made it well worth the trip. The food was amazing and I like the various restaurant offerings. Some nights had an hour and a half wait time but the buffet was always a great option.
Only other issue was that I specifically booked at an all suite resort so my kids could watch their shows in another room but the doors between the living room and bedroom did not shut so it was somewhat distracting to have both TVs on at once. Very small nuisance since we weren't in the room that much with all the fun activities and night time entertainment. I would definitely return though!!"

"We had a great time at the resort! Yes, expect them to try to sell/have you sign up for stuff when you first arrive for stuff you won't really want. And if you arrive early (before 3:00pm), you won't get into your room; they'll try to sell you day trips, golf, timeshare, etc. But as long as you're forwarned, once you get past that and if you just want to come and enjoy the beautiful beach, the weather, the food, and the drinks, you should have a great time. The restaurants were excellent; the bartenders were friendly. We saw four weddings in three days! It was very very relaxing."

"We love this resort. People are very friendly although resort staff failed to fulfilled a promise... When we got there, they offered us an upgrade and promised , among other things, a bottle of wine delivered to our room; it never happened although I asked a few times. Other than that, our stay was excellent. We upgraded the room to ocean view and got the most beautiful view of the beach and pool we've ever seen. So romantic. The room was huge, clean and comfortable. We loved the jacuzzi in the balcony.
Restaurants are all from decent to very good (we don't eat that much). We loved Tamarindo and Mercure (French) and visited Castaways everyday we went to the beach or pool for snacking. I had read Spice was the best but we didn't like it much; we didn't like the sauces they use.
The resort provides 24-hour food service so if you plan a trip before restaurants open (7am), they would deliver whatever you want to your room.
We loved all drinks they prepare: mudslide, tequila sunrise, mono sucio, Riviera Maya, etc. 100 años tequila is the best.
Activities planned are enjoyable and varied: aerobics in the pool and games, kayaking, boating (using a camaran/ catamaran) and shows in the evening. Although they don't have a club, the sport club is used for dancing after 10pm.
We really loved the resort and enjoyed our vacation to the fullest. In addition, we planned two trips, one to one of the wonders of the world: Chichen Itza and another to Isla Mujeres with Albastros. Both activities were worth every single penny we paid. We are planning to return next year with a large group of family and friends."

"Now Jade was an awesome first experience with an all inclusive resort! Not only are the restaurants all included in the price, so is 24 hour room service and the mini-bar in the room! Before going we had some questions that weren't answered on the website. A big one was drinking WATER (Mexico tap water is unsafe): Now Jade has bottled water in the fridge in every room and it's re-stocked every day, they also have it available at every restaurant and bar. The resort also has a water purification system, so any drink you order is safe (so is the ice). Just don't drink the tap water! We kept bottled water next to the sink for brushing our teeth. Now Jade is in Puerto Morelos, a small fishing town south of Cancun. It's out of the party zone and perfect for relaxation for adults and children. The resort is not by any other resorts and has an awesome private beach as well as some very nice pools. The food is all gourmet and very pretty to look at. The price of the room includes tips, but we left tips for the waiters anyway. The staff & waiters are very friendly and pleasant to be around. Most everybody speaks English too. Our room was always kept very clean by the cleaning staff. We paid for a 'garden view' room and were given a partial ocean view, which was awesome! Everything on the resort was easily within walking distance. On our last day we took the free bike tour of Puerto Morelos (if you do it, do a morning tour, the afternoon is way hot). We bought most of our souveniers in Puerto Morelos on our tour...the prices were much less than buying the resort souveniers. I would recommend getting the round trip airport transfers because the resort might be hard to find. After a few times leaving for tours we figured out how to get back, but it is a bit confusing. Overall we had an awesome experience at Now Jade!"

"A nearly perfect experience. Elegance to near decadence. This facility has a staff equal in numbers to the guests! Service. Service. Service. Excellent service.
One of the only down spots was the internet non-availability except for a hefty $15.00 daily premium. Even so, frequently the system was down (3 of our 7 days).
The other significant disappointment for me was experiencing the loss of a golfing opportunity due to poor coordination with the concierge desk and the door staff. The concierge made me give her my golf clubs as I waited for the van to take me to the course (about 25 km away). She gave me a check-in stub for the clubs and also gave one to the doorman, who acknowledged me with a nod.
Watching diligently, sitting in the first row of seats just inside the front drive area and watching the front drive I never did see the van arrive. Supposedly, the van waited out front a few minutes then left. No one notified me. After an extended wait and then several minutes of talking and consternation the concierge supervisor informed me that he would graciously not charge me the $50.00 fine for missing the transport that itself would have only cost $5.00. I missed the golf opportunity. There are no refunds. I did not feel at all graciously treated. Quite disappointed, actually.
Be careful walking on slippery surfaces. We talked with 2 different guests who were both injured on their day of arrival at this elegant resort. Both fell while walking on wet or dewy surfaces. One fellow had a compound fracture of his ankle. He was advised to wait until he returned to England to have his surgery."

"Overall our experience was great. Some things to consider before you book here. Menus at the restaurants are very limited (5-10 entres max). We're vegetarians and were lead to believe we'd have options. We didn't. Also, the restaurant staff was typically polite and nice, but the language barriers were evident and we had to wait long periods of time to get served and it usually took them a few times to get it right. They always did it with a smile though :)
The pools all close at 7pm, so don't get any ideas about a nice swim at sunset in the beautifully lit pools. That's a shame because the pools are amazing! The beach is gorgeous and very clean, but most areas just inside the water are cluttered with coral and rocks so be VERY careful if you plan to swim. We all had cuts and scrapes at different times.
HIGHLY recommend the adult pool area. It's quieter, cleaner, less crowded, etc. The drinks are great and a nap in the hammocks is like a dream. We've never been to an all-inclusive before and I think we'll definitely go again. I just think we'll go somewhere else for variety."

"What was good - the staff was friendly and helped with stuff. In fact, I felt like the VIP services did go that step up even if you were not a preferred member. The room was nice. Filled the tub and the water did not look like I would used it as it was yellow so the shower is what was used. But over all the food The view from the room was not nice and really not a lot of gardens or landscaping. And the water they used to water the grass stunk. Ocean was nice - bring your water shoes. Need taxi every where even to catch the bus so this is extra money. Activites were nice they tried to keep you busy. Food was but I wish even at the nice dinning locations I wish they would serve bottled water instead of fill your glass because the stuff in the picture was not good. Coupons where not used not really great deals. But the spa was really nice. I would for sure stay at another Now resort this one is great for the money you spend but keep in mind it does cost to go any where from these resorts."

"We had a great time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the adult pool very much. The restaurants were great, the food was very good. We upgraded to the preferred rooms before we we down to mexico and we were very happy with what we got. Our rooms were very nice ocean view. The waiter at the pool bar was very nice and funny, he made it very enjoyable for us. I loved the lounge that we got to go in being in the preferred area. They had snacks and desserts for us everyday and the drinks were top quality."

"Every penny was totally worth it. They treated my boyfriend and I like a million bucks. Had the preferred membership and an ocean FRONT room. View and room was phenominal. Service was great. Food was really good and there were many choices each and every day. The ONLY thing I am going to complain about are the bed bugs. DISGUSTING. Something you wouldnt expect in a 5 star resort. I would wake up in the morning with bites on my leg... but just assumed it was the 'sand fleas'..... everything else was perfect except for that."

"Absolutely phenomenal, from our pick up w/ Best Day to our perfect stay at Now Jade. The food at every restraunt was tasty and the presentation beautiful. The activities weree fun and well timed. The bands and shows in the evenings were entertaining and delightful. We only left the hotel once in the 7 day stay because there was no need to do anything else! Reminded me of the ease of a cruise vaction but with the perfect beach for the whole 7 days no sea days. Love it!!!!! Will go agaiin within the year."

"I will not stay at a NOW property again in the future. This was an opportunity to be a great vacation but the staff and facilities left a lot to be desired. This started with a $200 credit we were supposed to receive at the spa that ended up being several 'coupons' that did not really provide much discount. Our garden view room was a swamp with moving trucks that were building a hotel next door. To top it off, when we asked to have our room changed, they did not offer their best garden view, they offered others that did not look like anything in the brochure and then suggested we pay to upgrade to the 'preferred' section which is everything you see in the brochure. Apparently, you cannot enjoy the adult pool unless you pay and stay in an upgraded room so right off the bat we lost our $200 credit, and paid an extra $50 a night to get what we thought we had paid for. The food was very good, loved all the restaurants but there were several other small incidents that could have been easily handled but the staff simply argued with us instead of helping make it a better experience.
We gave several members of the staff and management an opportunity to talk about the poor first impression and experience but again, all, including management, simply argued with us and suggested we go back to our garden view room. Not a pleasant customer service experience. "

"The resort is nice and right on the beach. It is a bit secluded and it is not really in Cancun as it say in it's name. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Once we arrived we were told about a deal they had where we can upgrade our rooms to the preferred section and receive complementary internet and an upgraded room. The deal was for an additional $280 for a week so we decided to go ahead with it. Only to find out that their internet only worked about 2 out of the 7 days we were there. Their preferred lounge is supposed to offer better alcohol but really it is just the typical alcohol they had all over the rest of the resort. We booked a romantic dinner on the beach and the food was so bad that we did not even eat it. Although the food at all the restaurants on the resort was very good."

"We were there to attend a destination wedding for a friend of our daughter and to have a nice relaxing vacation. It started off fine, they have the usual food, services and amenities offered in the resorts. The staff is actually very friendly, and other than a small misunderstanding with a waiter that involved getting his supervisor involved, we enjoyed the staff who were friendly as in all the resorts we have attended. And rather gracious with an apology too, since we as well work in the service industry and understand it's particular problems.
Here, is the downer. We noticed a very unpleasant smell to the water. We also all got sick with upset stomachs by the second day. Lets say we kept a close watch for ' EL BANO' We noticed it in the sink, shower and toilets as well
when flushed. We suspect the water used in the facilities for coffee, cooking etc. was this water , since we have been to Mexico four times before and drink only bottled water.
We noticed the local swamps also had a smell, and the close proximity to the water treatment plant was very suspect. This may have been treated water, or it's high sulfer water and not especially good to sensitive people.
Now the facility is nice, the wedding went off without a hitch except the food at the reception was very poor, I believe it's called the Surf Side, so it kind of knocked the special out of the evening. Like , I'm glad I didn't put up the money for the food any way.
We tried all the restaurants except CIN-CIN which wasn't open some times. The Carnival buffet had a lot of the usual foods, they tended to be a little bland for our taste. The French restaurant had a really great smell to it, the soups use heavy cream and may be a little rich for some. I liked the escargot and we also had filet's. I'm probably willing to give the benefit of the doubt to most of the dishes, the girl's were not as pleased.
SPICE seemed to be the biggest hit, I found the sushi pretty tasty although the pad thai was REALLY sweet. THe girls liked the spicy chicken, fried rice and sushi.
WE had some travel issues related to the airline , but that's another story!"

"Best all-inclusive resort I've been to. Stayed in ocean view room and had a great view of the pool and the ocean. The food was excellent! The room service was prompt. The staff was so great and always went above and beyond my expectations.
I celebrated my birthday while I was there and they put my name on their daily activity sheet wishing me a happy birthday and gave me 2 birthday cakes at lunch and had 1 delivered to my room that evening.( my boyfriend did request these things but they fulfilled these request)
We walked the beach to El CID to check out their resort and we were very happy we stayed at Now Jade!,

"We had a wonderful time at the Now Jade Resort. We stayed in Jr. Suite Ocean Front in Bld. 9. It was a great location. Close to the beach and the pool. The room was really nice, clean and quiet. We enjoyed time on the beach and had good beach service. Used the kayaks a couple of times. Never had to wait. The pool was comfortable temp. and clean with a great ocean view and good drinks and food services. The buffet, French and Asian restuarants were our favorites. We were at the resort 7 nights and ate twice at the French and Asian restuarants. The resort staff was friendly and helpful. Do bring $1 for tipping as it increased the service quality. Best Day Travel was really good. Drivers were on time and friendly. We worked with them to book a one day trip to Talum to visit the ruins and to snorkel. Highly recommend this experience to others."

"Staff were all extremely friendly (everyone was so nice and helpful). If doing excursions the AM Star people located in the lobby are very helpful and reasonably priced. Resort is clean and beautiful. Food was wounderful (and I am a very picky eater). Resturaunts don't need or allow reservations but in the eight days we were there our longest wait was just under 1 hour (only two in our party, so there may have been longer waits for larger parties). Many nights we got right in however. One of the resturaunts is closed each night, so if there is one you really want to try, don't wait. We found it best to put a towel (and maybe a hat) on the chairs around the pool to reserve a spot before going to breakfast (most chairs ares full by around 10:00am). If you want a room with a view do not settle for the 'lagoon' side. This was my only complaint as the lagoon is actually a muddy mini-lake with nothing in it. All said and done however, we still had an amazing trip and would definately reccomend it to others!!! Last piece of advise: Call the airline morning of traveling. We booked a 8:30 am flight and when we got to the airport they said we had gotten moved to the 6:00 am flight and that we had missed it. Everything turned out okay and we just had to run to our connecting flight. The way home we checked in advance and there were no changes. Good Luck and Good Vacationing!!!"

"I visited for a wedding on the beach and a week of vacation. The food was excellent! My favorite was the Italian restaurant, Capers. They offer a family pool area with games, fun entertainers, and activities all day. There is also an adult pool area on the preferred side of the resort where you can relax in a hammock and enjoy the great views from the infinity pool. The wedding was perfect. It was a very nice ceremony on the beach and a reception outside one of the restaurants overlooking the beach & ocean. The housekeeping staff was consistent and visited the room twice each day. The entire resort is clean and includes everything you would expect. Great for couples or the family."

"My overall expierience was good. They charge for internet connection either by the minutes or $17.50 additional for the day. My idea of an all inclusive is it should be covered. Also, it worked only when it wanted to. The connection throughout the property was poor. In and out. They said they were changing providers due to other complaints when I complained to them. Therefore, I should nor anyone else who complained be charged for it. The food quality was borderline 4 star. Could of been better. They ran out of towels by the pool in the afternoon. Really? Buy more. Wash faster. Did not understand that at all. The staff was very friendly however. Always a plus. Very accomodating, always appreciative and not looking for tips. I did take care of a few on my own who were exceptional and also commented at the front desk of my checkout on one in particular who was exceptional. I can definately recommend this as a place to stay when in the Cancun area. The staff really makes up for where things are not perfect."

"This resort is very clean and beautiful. But.... our daughter was married here and they do not have their stuff together. The wedding staff is over worked everything last minute. Our daughters wedding cake was not what she had picked out. To try and talk to a coordinator before the arrival is really hard. I felt for $5000.00 for a wedding (that did not include everyone's lodging) it wasn't worth the money spent. If you're a detailed person this is not the place to get married. as far as the hotel and all they have to offer for a vacation very nice. The rooms at night are very nosy a lot of loud banging and things being dragged across the floor. For a romantic get away I would return."

"This place restored my faith in 'all-inclusives'. The staff was AMAZING. Service with a smile, no hands held out expecting tips (though we did to some who went above and beyond), and hard hard working! The food was very good.... not 5 star, but a solid 3 or 4 stars at all times. The drinks were cold, fresh and never watered down. My vote is that the 'prefered club' is a bit of a joke. There are no special reasons to upgrade. The internet only worked intermittently both in the lounge and the wireless. The canapes and bar in the lounge were no better than anywhere else in the resort. It seems to be a waste of money. I admit our best choice was to upgrade to an 'ocean front' room. WORTH EVERY PENNY. It went from a very nice room with an ok view, to a stellar vista and ocean front to greet us every morning and tuck us in to the sound of the waves and cool breeze every night. as with most things you get what you paid for. I really really liked this place and want to personally acknowledge a waitress at the Lobby Bar and Poolside, a young waiter outside at Carnival, a hostess all over, and a young waiter at our wedding reception dinner in Bamboo Room at Carnival). And the omlete station chef at the Carnival breakfast, I never caught his name. I'll just say that you get pretty used to having someone make you a stellar breakfast quite quickly, lol! Good luck in planning your trip!"

Our favorite bartenders were at The mix and at the Splash bar. They were both so friendly and fun to talk to. The food was very good too. We really enjoyed ourselves and would vacation here again. The only downside of the trip was it rained quite a bit 2 of the days we were there. Hopefully next time we will get better weather."

"My husband and I have been to different resorts in this area but Now Jade is my favorite. We were also there 9/9 - 9/14 so it is considered the off season so the restaurants were not crowded. I LOVED not having to worry about having reservations it was great!! As mentioned earlier if you can take a chance book standard then when you get there you can upgrade to preferred and oceanfront. I LOVED the oceanfront room but the preferred status really is a joke. You get ONE bag of M&Ms and 4 3 oz bottles of liqueur Oh and use of the preferred lounge which is nothing special. Liked that the resort was big enough but not so big that you have to get a ride on a golf cart everywhere. Just the right size resort. We will go back!!!!
PS Don't talk to anyone at the airport except your ride to the resort and don't agree to any timeshare presentation. Both will waste your valuable vacation time!!!"

"When we arrived and tried to check in they didn't have our reservations available.it ended up taking us about 1.5 hours to get checked in We knew they were going to try and sell us on a timeshare so we told them up front that we didn't want them trying to sell us something. The room they gave us was overlooking the the street and brush in front of the hotel (which they called the garden area). We wanted to upgrade to an ocean view room but it cost us another $250 to do so. They put us in a room that was then perfect, overlooking the ocean and in the preferred area of the resort. The food was very good especially the Japanese steakhouse. If you want to go to town, the taxi is the only way, $10 for up to 4 people each way to Puerto Morelos and $45 each way to Cancun which in turn takes up at least 1 whole day of vacation. The people in town were very friendly and eager to bargain except the guys in the store that the taxi drops you in front of.
All in all I would recommend this hotel and I would try them again. The resort was absolutely beautiful .They claim to have white sand beaches and that is true but there are a lot of rocks in the water so it makes it hard to enjoy swimming in the ocean."

"We booked a preferred ocean view room and when we arrived, we were given a room which had a view on two very near buildings. No ocean to look at, only bushes. After we complained, they gave us another room which had a better view but still, all around the hotel, there are construction sites and dumps; not very appealing.
Not to mention they mixed up our names, forgetting about our preferred reservation, so we had a very poor welcome at the hotel.
The food is greasy and there are not a lot of vegetarian choices in the different restaurants even though they make publicity about it. The 'free' wine they offer tastes awful.
The 400 dollars credit coupons from the hotel are a scam: they only work if you buy an expensive activity on which you get a very small discount. The prices of those activities are over the top (for example: 170 dollars per person for a dinner on the beach, on which you can only use a 40 dollars coupon).
Though the employees of the hotel are for the majority very nice, the hotel was short staffed and you could feel it every time you needed a service. This has a huge impact on the quality of the stay. For example, when you check in (even in the preffered lounge), you have to wait for a certain amount of time, just because the 2 solely employees are busy doing something else.
Beware of the unlimited vacation club (UVA) offer: they try to sell you a membership that costs around 20 000 dollars (!) with very agressive manners. They first invite you for a lunch, saying they just want to briefly show off their other resorts, and they end up taking 3 or 4 hours of your time trying to convince you to buy their highly expensive formula.
We will not go back and we do not recommend this hotel.
We were really disappointed."

"Now Jade was a perfect place to stay! My fiance and I had an amazing time! We enjoyed the 8 different restaurants to choose from, including: Mexican, Italian, French, and Chinese. All of the staff was wonderful! They really made you feel welcome and relaxed....for example when we first got there and was checking in, Diego offered us a drink from the bar...how nice after a long day of traveling lol. Everything was all inclusive, it was nice for food and drinks and not having to worry about paying each time for something. The entertainment was wonderful! Every night there was something going on. We enjoyed seeing the Michael Jackson impersonator :) Transportation was excellent for all excursions. And the Beach was amazing! We will definitely go back in the future! Also make sure to check out the photo department, you can have photos taken and or a book made of your choosing....we had out engagement photos done."

"My husband and I went there for our 30th anniversary. We were told of extra things we would recieve in celeebration of our anniversary. The only thing we got was our name in the daily activity paper (which was very cool) and sick. Even after going in everyday to the perferred lounge and speaking to the person in charge, nothing happened. Though, we were told every day that all would be taken care of. While the resort has the best rooms (excellent air conditioning), the lack of promises being kept put a damper on our special event."

"Our stay at Now Jade was ok. We expected better. We loved Mercure, Casper, Tamarindo restaurant. However, spice was terrible, cheap food with terrible taste, and Carnival had same food pretty much everyday. What about Cin Cin? we would not know, because it's been closed for 7 days during our visit. Staffs were friendly and helpful, except for that one time they had us waited for a table even though there were tables available. We saw that and requested a table immediately, and they reluctantly gave it to us. what was the problem Now Jade?. If you are a big fan of snorkeling, now jade's beach aint for you. there was not reef and very little of fish around. I would pay little more money and get a better resort. "

"Overall a great time at the Jade. We arrived on a Friday Afternoon and departed the following Wednesday afternoon. The staff was friendly. The food was the best. We ate at all the restuarants. The French and the Chinese style restraunts where the best. The Buffet was fresh with many options. If you are not able to find something you like to eat at this resort then you are just not hungry. Very nice coffee shop that had sandwiches and sweets all day long. We upgraded to the VIP club and got a nicer room and access to the VIP club room with top shelf drinks. The adult pool was a great place to hang out. The waiters there where the best and very attentive. We took the vacation club demo also known to some as a time share. It is actually a program where you buy blocks of time. We turned it down but still got a $250.00 spa credit and a 3 day two night stay at any of their resorts for $149. It does take 3 hours out of your day buy I believe it is worth the hassle. There was also lunch served at the adult pool from 1230-2p and the nachos where great. The shows where good and the drinks where great. Anything you heart desired. We are ready to go back ASAP."

"This was our second time at the Now Jade. Our first time was the Monday after Thanksgiving. We loved it so much that we made another reservation for last week. We got back last night and already missing it. The restaurants were wonderful. Our favorite, The Italian, 'Capers'. Service everywhere was great. We did the preferred plan and would not go back without that plan. We go to Cancun five or six times a year and so far this is our favorite."

"Overall we had a great stay.
A couple of disappointments..
We were not offered a drink at the pool or beach the first two days of our stay.
Seemed to need more staff.
There was a 15 minute or longer wait for a treadmill or elliptical at the fitness room three days in a row. Seems additional equipment is needed and fix the broken treadmill.
By 8 am all cabanas and most poolside chairs had towels over them and very few people. The no reserving seats policy isn't working and is having a negative effect. Two days in a row, there were no towels available, except for the ones on the empty/reserved seats."

"Wow Jade was not bad at all but few things bugg me like the pool were toooo cold to swim so i didnt...ocean was warmer!
The buffet for lunch and diner could have been better... No guacomole or salsa with chips???in Mexico???
Our room was clean but i had to dust all the furniture because of the dust.
The beach was very nice on the left side of the hotel, the restaurants were delicious, the service was great pool and resto, the pools, the beach and our room were cleaned very well every day...that was excellent!
I woul recommend to a friend but would not go back..."

"My boyfriend and I arrived at Now Jade on December 8th, 2011. I must say, it was the first time we ever visited Mexico and we absolutely loved it! The resort itself is well kept and maintained. What really topped it all off was the great service and the staff were always exceptionally helpful and pleasant! The staff are all very hard working and eager to please. The rooms are comfortable and look exactly like the photos on their website. We did opt for the tropical room view which put us on a lower level suite (Building 4). The only downside to the suite was the small ant like bugs which did make their way into our room. We called concierge and they moved us to an ocean view room ~ BONUS! And naturally because it is a tropical area there are going to be bugs no matter where you go, but the ocean view room on the 2nd floor was much better. The concierge sent a bell boy making the room transfer fast and easy! I have to agree with some of the other reviewers about the room cleaning. Our room was always cleaned perfectly but they do seem to come around a bit later then what your probably used to. I'd say on average our room was usually cleaned between 3-4 p.m. Worked out fine for us though because we were never in our room at that time anyway. They always give you plenty of towels and near the beach in front of building 1, there are beach towels that you can take with you to the beach/pools so you don't have to use the ones in your room and you can take as many as you need.
The Beach: There are plenty of lounge chairs and palapas! We never had any issues finding a good spot! There are some rocky parts along the beach. But if you just simply walk around a bit there are plenty of areas of nothing but white sandy beach! So in my eyes the rocks aren't even an issue. We had plenty of bar service down on the beach as well. Just a tip, invest in an insulated cup, like a Tervis Tumbler to bring with you. They will keep your drinks frozen and cold much longer then regular cups! Plus, they are bigger! And the bartenders don't mind filling them!
Food: The food wasn't bad at all. I think people tend to forget that you just can't please everyone! We are both somewhat picky eaters and in no means did we starve! The italian was so-so, asian was delicous, Cin Cin was amazing and Tamarindo was good too! The buffet did get a little tiresome after a while, but we were there for twelve days so no complaints here! Castaways is great for a snack (burgers/nachos etc.) The breakfast buffet has an omelet station and they always had main staple food (hasbrowns, bacon, french toast, cereal, fruit, yogurt etc.) The only restaurant we didn't eat at was Mercure (french) and not for any particular reason. Room service wasn't bad either, loved the chicken fajitas! The Coco Cafe is amazing for anyone who loves coffee! I couldn't have made the cappuccinos and latte's better myself!
Tours: I read in another review that they weren't offered any sort of tours etc. I actually appreciated the fact that we were not accosted or hounded by staff to go on tours. There is a tour desk in the main lobby as well at the customer service desk near the gift shop where you can go in and look at brochures and pick out the tours you want to do with the help of the staff. We visited Xel Ha, Tulum, Rio Secreto and went to Playa Del Carmen. We visited Tulum and Xel Ha in the same day. I don't think we would do both in the same day again as Xel Ha can take up most of the day if you want to do everything (float down the river, snorkel etc.) which doesn't leave you a lot of time in Tulum. The Xel Ha/Tulum tour was around $150 USD each. Rio Secreto was absolutely amazing! The sights in the the underground caves were unbelievable and well worth the $100/each. The tour guide was also very knowledgeable and friendly! I don't have a lot to say about Playa Del Carmen other then its more like a really expensive flea market with vendors constantly yelling at you to come buy stuff from them. Souveniers were much cheaper at the hotel gift shop and in Xel Ha.
Bonuses: They use premium alcohol! No watered down gross stuff! They will make your drinks as strong as you want. The bartender at 'The Mix' at night time (I forgot his name but he is from Latvania) is the place to go if you want strong drinks and some amazing shots, or what he calls 'Happiness injections'! Kudos to him!
Another bonus is the resorts 'Photo Shop', right next to the gift shop. There are professional photographers who will take about 60-70 photos (and amazing ones at that). You are not obligated to purchase any of the photos if you do not like them. And the ones you do want, of course you must pay for and they will print them or put them on a CD for you.
Overall, it was a great vacation. I would most definitely go back! It is a smaller resort and with all the restaurants being central in the resort you don't have to walk too far to get anywhere. The friendly and happy staff make the resort just that much more enjoyable! No resort can be perfect, but the minor flaws did not out shine this beautiful place!"

"We were looking forward to the trip reading all the possitive comments and was a dissapointed in the resort. The only thing worth noting is that the staff work there tails off, the bartenters, waiters all work very hard. The food was fair at best, the cleaning staff didn't clean our room 2x on an 8 night stay. We called and nothing was done. Loster at the New Years party was half cooked or over cooked - come on, a cook shouldn't send that out to his customers.
I would suggest you pay more for a 5 star place and not settle on 2nd best.
You spend alot of money on a vacation and desirve the best then I'd consider another place, sorry to say because we tried to find someting worth noting, We did meet great friends while there but that has nothing to do with the service at Now Jade."

"we recently stayed at the Now Jade for our daughters wedding. We were in the preferred club area but did not get the treatment that we paid for. Our suite had a very bad smell in the washroom...it smelled like sewer gas to usl We complained to the front desk and they did nothing about it. Had to keep the fan on in the washroom all the time and keep both doors closed so the rest of our suite would not stink...room service was very slow as well..were told it would take up to 1/2 hour but still after one hour...no show."

"This was our third consecutive visit to Now Jade and once again we were very well received. We were a group of nine, the service we received was once again outstanding in all areas, I continue to promote your resort here back home with hopes that more people from this region (Windsor, Ontario Canada) will take our advice and visit your beautiful resort.

"I had an awesome trip. The restaurants were fabulous, the shows were great and the atmosphere was gorgeous. I had the most relaxing and amazing time at Now Jade. The staff was fun and very, very friendly. Everytime I turned around someone was saying hi or asking how I was. The staff made it a wonderful experience for me and my family. Thank you!"

"Very good hotel with some of the best staff we have seen in a hotel in Cancun area.
The check in was very slow and ponderous when compared to the other services in the hotel.
I thought the mixup in our reservations would have a detrimental effect on our stay( we ordered a Preferred Junior Siute with Ocean view) but ended up in a normal room with limited view. However the room we had was clean and well maintained and the staff in the Hotel more than made up for this incomvenience."

"we were suppose to have 2 rooms side by side. Not so. I complained, they finally found 2 rooms side by side. My husbands tennis shoes were stolen and they couldn't find them. Went to make coffee in the morning and the coffee grounds from a previous guest were still in the coffee pot. Towels were dirty and hung back up. We were so far from the main lobby and restaurants with no shuttle. Could not sit at the pool because of the loud, blasting music.
We stayed at Iberostar before and there was no comparison. I'm sorry we didn't stay there again but wanted to experience another resort. Bad choice!!"

"My wife and I along with some of our dear friends and their kids were there a week starting on Thanksgiving. From the second we got there we were impressed with how friendly everyone was and efficient at getting us to our rooms as quickly as they could. There were a few employees that stood out.. Our server, served us many times and kept us laughing through each and every meal. Another employee was great at getting us involved in the bike rides, volleyball or whatever event was happening to get us out there and active. Our drink server was just amazing. We never saw an empty glass and she was creative in showing us new drinks, away from the ordinary pina colodas and margaritas. The preferred upgrade was well worth what we paid, the rooms were amazing and The Lounge was great. We appreciate all the hard work that goes into putting together a successful day at an all inclusive resort, and they did an excellent job.

"We just returned from a week's stay at this hotel. This was our first ever all inclusive, as we have always cruised, but decided to give it a try. This was a great hotel, with great staff. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, this is the place. There are only 2 hotels in this area. Loved the beach, but unfortunately we had a few windy days with red flags, but we finally decided to take our chances in the water, and enjoyed every minute of it. There is lots to do, if you want, or you can just sit back by the many pools. Never had any problems with finding louge chairs, and the hotel was booked solid for most of our stay. Food in the restaurants was excellent, but would like to see more options for lunch, other than the buffet.
The one thing they could definately improve on is the check in process. It was very slow. Check out was seamless though. The housekeeping could be a bit improved upon as well, as we had a gecko which had somehow gotten killed in the bathroom blind, and it stayed there for 4 days until I finally removed it myself. Overall though, we had an excellent stay, and would certainly return. If you get the opportunity to upgrade, I recommend it. For a few dollars extra a night, we got an ocean front room, and the Preferred Lounge is a great place to sit around with friends in the evening."

"This was our second visit to this resort. Our first visit was my husband's 50th birthday and it was a fantastic trip - although they left my husband's name off of the sheet that they pass out every morning announcing wedding, anniversary's and big birthdays. Not that big of a deal - the hotel and staff were excellent. So we decided to go back for our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff again were excellent - they smile as they shovel rocks or kelp off the beach, it's amazing! Again it seems dumb but they left our names off the sheet that is passed out each morning so I said something to the front desk and she apologized and asked me if I wanted a special turn down - it never came. What makes that worse is my sister called and order champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for ur anniversary and they never came and my sister was told that was because the HOTEL already sent us champagne and fruit. The front desk is terrible and as many tmes as they say 'It's a pleasure' It's not true. I would still go back though the hotel and staff were excellent!"

"My husband and I stayed here from Nov. 8-15 2011 for our 25th wedding anniversary and our overall experience was good. We had a great time. The staff was very friendly. My only complaint really was that the maid service was not very thorough when cleaning our room or getting it done in a timely manner and some other general housekeeping issues in the hallway areas of the hotel. Some of the restaurants take to long in getting your food out ,but our food was great. The resort is very beautiful and our room was exactly as pictured on the website. I would stay there again. If I could change anything about the trip I would change the maid service."

"Originally I had doubts about going to Mexico. However, we found this great deal through Book-It. com. A friend of mine recommended the Now Jade Resort. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with friendliness. The staff is absolutely phenomenal. We were always greeted with smiles and kindness. One thing I loved was the cleanliness of the hotel. The hotel provided us every day with a schedule for the day. There was always something going on. The food was great. We mostly ate at the Buffet, which was different every day. The entertainment was ok, but would have liked a variety of music to listen to. The beach was small and a alittle rocky, but if you walked further down there were no rocks. We dealt with Best Day staff and they were great. Anytime we called the front desk for anything they were right up. I would definately recommend this hotel and hope to return again."

"Restaurant/Food Quality and Service the BEST. The resort is rather small. One Lobby, band playing every night. I perfer bigger resorts where there seems to be more to do. The sand on the beach is not White but beige resembling the Jersey Shore. It had more rocks and concrete than sand. Staff was friendly. If you like small, pools and not much to do this is for you. Half hour from Playa De Carmen, half hour from Cancun was an inconvenience."

"From the moment we got out of our van we were greeted with smiling faces and people willing and ready to serve our every need. They placed us into a room 3 hours a head of check in time. The room was exactly as described on Bookit and we Loved every aspect of it. We chose to upgrade to the ocean front preferred room and was absolutely worth every extra penny. The food was awesome everywhere we went and the drinks were strong and plentiful. We greatly enjoyed the swim up bar at the adults only pool, the bartenders treated us very well. They even remembered our names and drinks which was incredible considering we had only been there maybe an hour a few days before. "We had a great time at Now Jade! The staff made us feel like celebrities. We went for my birthday and they sent us a complementary birthday cake, chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne! It was great! Our view faced the 'quiet' pool with the beach to the left. We had a great time snorkeling, lounging in the different pools, and trying the different restaurants. Three of the restaurants require semi-formal attire so guys be sure to bring slacks and dress shoes. Oh and watch out for chigger bites!
We highly recommend this resort! I can't say enough great things about it!

Beware that Ocean view doesn't necessarily mean you can see the ocean it just means that the rooms balcony faces in the direction of the ocean... building or building as well as great distance may be between the room and the ocean as this is a very large resort. "

"We found this great deal online and were a bit nervous. I did a lot of reading on Trip Advisor and looked at personal photos, not resort photos. They gave us a better idea of the hotel. We had a great stay. We choose not to upgrade and were not disappointed with our room or included amenities. Our reservation through Bookit came with an Ocean View upgrade and that was plenty. We came to eat drink and relax and we did! Good price on Bookit, good room, good food and lots of choices! Thumbs up! TIP: book your airport transportation separately on line to save some cash."

"The trip started with a very nice flight from airtran on time and pleasant
. The shuttle to the resort however was confusing and slow. Best day travel leaves alot to be desired. Once at the resort the hard sale began first to upgrade to there preferred club and then to go on a time share tour. I just hate the fact you can not just check into a resort in least than 3 hours. I will say that the now jade resort is clean and beautiful. Now for the bad news the food at this place would be and insult to a high school lunch room. I am not a food expert this food was bad and prepared poorly. Two of the five restaruarts I use that word loosely were closed the only excuse we were given was sorry 'off season' which I guess is Spanish for this food sucks. The staff was friendly and rooms were clean. Good place to go on a diet!!!!

"My girlfriends and I decided to book a trip together and decided to stay here @ the Now Jade Resort. When we first got on our shuttle transfer we were told by the driver that this resort area is mainly swamps and a big town for fishing. He also hinted that there were alot of crocodiles nearby. Aside from those warnings, we arrived at a private/secured area where the resort is located. Yes, it is isolated and there are swamps right next to the resort, but that did not hinder us from enjoying our stay at Now Jade.
The lobby was beautiful and front desk was friendly. We were quickly given drinks upon our arrival. The atmosphere was just chill and there's an open bar in the lobby. The surroundings were beautiful...the beach was just a few steps away from our hotel. We got the deal of the day room which is decent for 3 girls. I can't believe we saw a snake on our way to the room. It wasn't a big snake but it was long enough that we cringed. I guess it escaped somewhere from the swamps, but the staff immediately responded. Our balcony view was not so pretty, we were kinda hoping for the ocean or beach/pool view but instead we got a dirty swamp view. Keep in mind swamps carry alot of mosquitos (yuck!)
The food was great, we hit up all the restaurants and buffet atleast 3x's a day. The waiters were really friendly and nice so we gave them extra tips (usually $3 bucks) Room service was included so we ordered food for FREE which is a plus! especially late @ night...i believe it is 24hrs so we were hungry late at night and glad this was available.
The staff primarily assumed you spoke spanish...(housekeeper, room service etc) but the majority of the staff spoke English, enough for you to understand what they are saying. No language barrier here.
The only negative things we experienced was slow and unfriendly service at Cincin restaurant. The waitor forgot one of our drinks and we wanted to see the fire display show for dessert like the other table but we did not get that although we requested it. There were plates of leftover food left by our hotel room and birds would just fly in and out to eat the food and they were very nosy and annoying...the plates were left there for atleast 2 days right next to our room so when we were sleeping in the morning I could still hear them fight each other for food it was not pleasant. There were bits of food everywhere near the room and crumbs from the birds. When we were relaxing on the beach this coco bongo guy/promoter kept insisting that we should go party at their 'coco bongo' club and just tried to sell us info about their parties, but no thanks we were rather annoyed and just wanted to relax. Plus, 3 girls going outside of the resort is a bad idea. We were smarter than that. We stayed within the vicinity and just had fun on the beach, pool and just relaxed and stayed away from the 'fiestas' at Coco bongo.
This resort is primarily for older couples or families, not so much youngsters like ourselves. We are in our twenties...the majority of the people there were atleast 30's and kids.
We also went during the Mexican Independence Day celebration which is around Sep 15th. We got to see lots of entertainment, live music,a huge buffet of yummy foods and dancing. Its perfect for families with kids and people who are fascinated with the Mexican culture.
The airport was not too far away...maybe like 15-20 mins without traffic.I dont know why the hotel is listed as puerto morelos although it is considered rivieria maya area.
I would recommend this place to anyone who has never been to Cancun and would like to stay at a nice/legit place.
Don't exchange money here at the hotel because theyll rip you off a few pesos. I would do it at the airport or just bring dollar bills and small change for extra tipping or shopping. We usually give 3 bucks for 3 people for extra tip. I'm sure any extra is appreciated so you don't need to bring alot.
I would say this place is romantic for couples but the 'romantic dinner' on the beach is not included and is extra. We saw alot of honeymooners and anniversary celebrations here as well. We did not have to pay for kayaking or boogie boards so make sure you take advantage of those.
I'd give
food 4/5
entertainment 3/5
area 3/5
safety 4/5
hotel room 4/5
overall 4/5!

"We just returned from Now Jade and couldn't have felt more welcome and everyone was extremely friendly. I was a little nervous taking my mother because of her age (85) but from the time we were picked up from the airport until the time we returned, we were well taken care of. The only recommendation would be to lower the mirrors in the handicap rooms. The food was never real hot at the restaurants but there was plenty to pick from. We had a great time and would definitely go back! Beautiful resort and beach!"

"When three couples decided on Now Jade. The pictures of the resort looked great. So we booked. Needless to find out that there is a marina right beside the rocky beach that we had a hard time swimming in. We also upgraded our package so the we would be able to be checked in separately and without a big lineup. Well we were 3 couples and all of us were checked in last and without personalized service. We asked for rooms be together when booking. Not only did we not get rooms side by side we were all put into different buildings and checked in last. The rep from transat holidays argued with us about a welcome basket we should have recieved upon arrival in our room. We wasted a lot of mornings asking the rep to give us at least our lobster dinner, in our room, that was included in our preferred club package. Why did we upgrade no clue. Really found that it was a let down and will not return again. While in the preferred club room we were always approached about travelling to Sapphire resort. We told them every time we entered that room that we were on holidays and were not interested. "

"My trip to the Now Jade Riviera Cancun was great. The food was excellent and the Buffet was outstanding. Make sure you bring dress pants for men and a dress for women if you want to get into the French restaurant. We had great weather and the pools were amazing. As for tipping, a few dollars or a $5 bill here and there is a good thing to do. The staff was outstanding and full of energy. I used a taxi service called Best Day Travel which you can do through bookit....you will want to use this as well. The best drink was the Riviera Maya by far."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Now Jade Riviera. The food was excellent, though 2 of the nicer restaurants never opened for dinner during our stay, including the Mexican one. I have been to Mexico several times and found this staff to be the most helpful and friendly I have come across. The room was very nice, but the bathroom stole the show. Wow! The pool areas were awesome, especially the 'adult pool' where it was a bit more quiet. The beach there is beautiful, but too rocky in spots for comfortable swimming. You need to pick your spots carefully. We were there over Labor Day and thought it was a nice touch that the resort cooked up hot dogs and hamburgers on the beach for us to celebrate. It was a Labor Day cookout unlike any I had seen before. I would recommend that you take time to go into Puerto Moreles and look around some. It's a neat little place. Overall, we had a great time and would gladly return again if the opportunity arises. Cheers!"

"The resort was excellent and all the services they have are great. I would say if you like to go on vacation all inclusive is the way to go. The only thing I will think twice about is the transportation from and to airport. We have purchased the transportation by Best Day Company and they made our start and end of vacation a little unpleasant. "

"Stayed at this resort for a wedding, so resort was essentially selected by someone else. I was surprise at how new and contemporary this resort looks, the facilities and staff are fantastic...the beach not so much. Although pretty beach it is very rocky, nonetheless we still enjoyed it. The outdoor activities for Saturday night were great, flea market, outdoor eating in the town square and the show. The show was awesome, not to short, not to long and very vibrant. Only had a chance to try one of the restaurants and its was very good. We were with a large crowd (about 40) so going to the sport bar/club was a great time. We have 2 children although did not try the Explorers Club activities, so can't comment on that. The resort is somewhat secluded so taking excusions or going offsite the resort takes some travel...this can be a negative or plus depending on what you plan to do. Overall great experience and would definitely consider returning to this resort on our own. "

"My wife and I just visited the. Now Jade at the end of august. We had a great time. The place was empty during mid week and the staff was outstanding. Recommend bring slot of dollar bills to tip the staff, they don't have change for you. A dollar goes along way for a tip. Always schedule transportation to and from the airport. "

"Our first experience with an all inclusive resort. Everything that Bookit stated was true and as they promised. a little disappointed with some of the wait staff, but while on the beach we had a waiter come by at least every 30 minutes to be sure that we didn't need another drink."

"We stayed at the Now Jade Riviera Cancun just last week. The rooms were gorgeous, just like they show in the pictures. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is a ways out of Cancun, but taxis were plentiful and reasonable. They keep the hotel VERY clean. We espcially enjoyed the 'all inclusive' package. You didn't feel like you were doling out money or using your credit card all the time. The restaurants all served excellent meals.
We purchased the transfers from the airport to the resort with Best Day. I would highly recommend that you do that. Best Day has an office at the resort and they were SO helpful in helping us plan excursions for the week. The trip was glitch free. Our guides were so much fun on every excursion we took. Great and beautiful place to vacation. "

"This place truly exceeded our expectations! When we arrived we were served with welcome drinks (though I did see some arrive without receiving one- so maybe it is hit or miss). Our room was AMAZING. Walk in shower- large jetted tub- HUGE balcony- password protected safe and STOCKED refrigerator (BEER, H20, AND POP) large flat screen TV. I don't believe we paid for the upgraded room? We always select the cheapest :) The pools and bars were amazing! You can get tequilla for breakfast if you'd like! Tell them it is your BDay at the bar and they will load you up for sure- electric lemonade was my fav. The entertainment staff was fun. A lot of activities. There are free snorkeling, boogy boards and other beach activities on one side of the building, we didn't find them until the last day. Ask the front desk for a total tour when you arrive that way you get to utilize everything you paid for.
The food.... well I am the pickiest eater on the planet so I am probably not the person to ask! They have a variety of restuarant options, and the buffet had enough to keep me happy with means most will be extremely happy :)
We went in January of this year, and since then we have been to Jamaica in June and planning a trip to South America.
The 'spa credit' that you get is a LAUGH because it all costs a bazillion dollars!
Overall Excellent Value!! "

"My wife and I stayed at Now Jade resort last August for our 1 year anniversary. It was our first trip to Mexico and weren't sure what to expect. We had the most amazing time there! It was paradise! This resort was super clean and modern, and all the staff was extra friendly and went out of their way to make sure you have fun and enjoy your time here! The restaurants were all amazing. Our favorite was the French restaurant, but even the burgers and chicken they grilled by the pool were great! Drinks were all great. We tried something different every time. I'd defiantly recommend taking advantage of the bike tour to Puerto Morelos along with kayaking and snorkeling. The water is turquoise and warm. At night we`d sit on our balcony and watch the lightning over the distant glow of Cozumel. The rooms are awesome! We loved the rainfall shower! We really can't wait to go back. We would defiantly stay here again next time we go to Mexico!"

"My husband and I went here for our honeymoon last year. It was absolutely gorgeous! It was way more than I expected for the price! I loved going to a new restaurant every night. All of the food and drinks were included, even the mini bar and room service. The pools were gorgeous. It was right on the ocean, no walk at all. The staff was very friendly. The only negative thing that happened was when we first arrived our room and key that we were assigned was occupied. It was kind of awkward walking in on someone and not the best first impression. When we told the front desk they were very apologetic and took our bags so we just laid out by the pool for a few hours while they got a different room ready. When we got up to the room they had decorated the door and had a bottle of champagne on the table. They also upgraded the room to probably one of the best views in the whole resort. It was a weird way to start our trip, but we were so happy to be there that it didn't phase us anyway. To us, this resort was 4.5 stars for the price of a Holiday Inn. It is a great deal. If we go back to Mexico soon, we would come back to this resort. "
