WARNING: Driving into or out of Puebla is a nightmare Once found, this is a wonderful hotel from the valet parking, to the staff, to the amazingly quiet and elegant rooms, to the gourmet breakfast, the location, the price. I cannot find fault. I have stayed in four other hotels in Puebla and this now tops the list.

We stayed here this past week for 3 days and really enjoyed it. The room was simple but tasteful, very clean and came with a huge bathroom with a walk-in shower. The front desk was staffed days by a professional, friendly and very helpful fellow named Mayo who was a real asset . The on- site restaurant provided a full cooked and quite good breakfast. The location was an easy 5 minute walk to the main Cathedral square (Zocalo) too. You can't go wrong staying here !

perfect location with wonderful staff. clean. great breakfast. 3 blocks from zocalo, but far enough to be away from the late night noise and adjacent to other important locations. would definitely stay there again. some nice terraces. good AC and good hot water. cannot beat the value.

I stayed at Descanseria for a couple of nights only, but they were kind enough to change my room because the first one WAS too dark! I settled in 203. They showed me other two rooms, but I guess most don't have a lot of windows. The place was clean and spacious--no complaints there. The bed was firm and ok with me. Internet connection was free and without any problems, and the breakfast was delicious and well-portioned. The staff was super helpful in finding a nail salon, the Fedex office, and ... Read more

My family and I spent a week at Descansería and really enjoyed it. The room was large and quiet, the bed comfortable, the air conditioning appreciated (and also very quiet). The "quiet" was a real feat because our room faced Boulevard 5 de Mayo, and the location of the hotel is in an area full of nightlife (there are several bars on that part of 3 Oriente). But we heard none of it. The hotel has a beautiful open courtyard and a retractable roof, allowing that lovely inside/outside poetry that i... Read more

I don't think that I've every stayed anywhere where my experience was so different from other reviews. Based on previous reviews, I was expecting a dark, quiet room with a comfortable bed. On the plus side, my room had a large window so there was plenty of light. The bed was your typical fairly hard bed that seems to be popular in Mexico - harder than I like but typical for lodging here. But it wasn't quiet. The room was right next to a major street. Fortunately, it was usually just the hu... Read more
