"Our experience at Riu Palace Mexico was incredible! The service was fantastic. The beach and facilities were gorgeous! The staff was always friendly and courteous. They truly go above and beyond. We visited the other Riu's in the area and agreed that this one was the best for us. We did discover that the shows across the street at Riu Tequila were better (But Tequila doesnt have a beachfront). The buffets were fantastic and the restaurants were mostly good. We preferred the steakhouse and Japanese over the Brazilian and fusion restaurants. We plan to go back to Riu Palace Mexico as soon as possible. It was paradise!"

"AMAZING! I have already recommended to multiple people and I've only been back 2 days. Spent a lot of time researching by cross-checking all the bookit resort deals against tripadvisor, and this place had the best reviews of all of them. Time was very well spent, we were SO happy with the choice! Excellent value for money - under $1000 for 6 days including flights and transfer from airport. The beach and water were gorgeous and nothing better than lying on a lounger under the palm trees with the waiter walking by carrying a tray full of cocktails!



Went with a friend - my first all-inclusive trip, her second. She said this was far better than the other resort. Service was quick and efficient, location was fantastic. French fusion Krystal restaurant was great and breakfast buffet great.



This was the best resort of the Riu locations we visited, although the Riu Yucatan next door had a much better atmosphere at both the swim-up bars and the outdoor bars - guests were friendlier and more sociable, and the bartenders were FANTASTIC there! We were glad we stayed at the Palace because rooms were better, wine was served in bottles (vs self-serve at Yucatan), restaurants were better and we had 24 hour room service - we just chose to go to the bars at Yucatan.



Only a few minor negatives - service at the Japanese restaurant was very poor. Room smelled damp - although we got used to the smell, when I got home had to wash everything several times - including the clean stuff! They forgot our wakeup call on the morning we left (pickup at 445am for an 830 flight, because we were the first pickup)..luckily we'd ordered room service. Got woken up at 9am one morning by the sound of someone hammering to remove a broken tile and replace it. Evening entertainment was not great - mostly a medley of music with people doing a dance routine.



Overall, highly recommend this place. I don't know why everyone doesn't do all-inclusive vacations!"

"Riu Palace Mexico had the best service in any hotel I've ever stayed in. Service was quick and the staff was extremely friendly. Food at the main buffet exceeded my expectations. Although the rsvp restaurants and room service food could have been better. Nevertheless, for the price I paid and convenience of the location, I'd come back in a heartbeat!"

"This was our first trip to Playa del Carmen and also our first time at an all inclusive hotel. The Hotel Riu was beautiful, the grounds, the beach and the hotel were all wonderful. The thing that stood out the most was the friendly staff and the cleanliness. the staff was always cleaning. The staff also always greeted you with a smile and a friendly 'ola'. the food was good, all buffets get a little old after a while. Dining at Krystal was very good! My only recommendation to the hotel is to serve peanut butter and 'real' butter at the buffet. "
