Iberostar Paraiso Beach and Paraiso del Mar make up this resort complex, which is designed to complement its natural surroundings. The resort boasts an attractive lobby, main restaurant with open kitchen, six specialty restaurants, two pool bars, a theater bar, cigar lounge, lobby bar, sports bar and nightclub. There is also a creatively-designed pool area, with separate children´s pool and extensive sunbathing area. All lounge chairs, umbrellas and beach towels are complimentary. The complex includes various shops, a spa and gym, beauty salon, kids club with children's pool and internet access(for an additional charge). The Star Friends at this resort offer an array of activities and group games during the day and each night there are different shows and live music. The Star Friends organize and lead a wide variety of activities and competitions including aerobics, group exercise classes, table tennis, volleyball, water polo, rifle shooting and archery. Lucy´s Kid´s Club program for children ages 4-12 offers special entertainers and a Mini Disco each night.

"Iberostar Beach is a great place. The lobby bar is awesome, this is where you can get WiFi. They handed us a drink when we were waiting in line to check in. The property is very well maintained; the workers are polite and efficient. The room was big enough, with a nice king size bed and a ceiling fan. I brought my own fan with me but didn't need to use it. Our room was centrally located and just a few minute walk to the beach or lobby. There are golf cart escorts available if you don't want to walk.
There are 4 different swim up bars and you don't have to wait long for a drink. The drinks are not watered down but they pour them weak, to protect the amateur drinker for a long day of sun and fun. The food was fine at the regular buffets and very good at the Brazilian and Japanese restaurants. There is a buffet and bar at the beach along with many chairs and shade. Some of the locals walk the beach selling jewelry, blankets, cigars, and other local favorite items. My wife and I were very pleased with the Iberostar and are planning to return.

"After months of research we booked a 4 night stay. We just returned and overall gave the experience a 9. My husband gave it a 8 because we did a lot of walking at the resort and his shoes did not hold up (recommend investing in good shoes for beach/pool) and the food wasn't great. My 17 year old son and 14 year old daughter had a blast. The pools and beach were great. Our rooms were clean. We loved the walking paths and the animals that lived right on the beach. You felt like you walked through the jungle to get the to the beach and we loved it. 4 nights was just right. We did the Explore excursion on day 2 and I would recommend that for teenagers as well. It was a nice break from the sun as most activities had shade. Highly recommend the cave swim. Overall we had a great experience. This was our first timebeing at an Iberostar and our kids first trip to Mexico. Overall a good experience. If you are a food 'snob' you will be disappointed with this all inclusive."

"Hello Everyone,

JUST SO YOU KNOW... THIS COULD BE A LONG REVIEW

I just returned last night from my stay from one ot the hotels at the Iberostar complex in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
For the record I want you to know that this was the fourth time we visited the area.
This year money was tight so I booked what I thought was the best deal....for one of the less costly Iberostar hotels... it was eithier the Pariaso Del Mar or the Pariaso Beach/Lindo.
Since the description on the website was vague, I went to the Iberostar website to get a better idea and sure enough...the Paraiso Beach description incuded all three...so I booked it.
(I had no problems ...except once you book it is very hard to re-connect with your agent if you have a question).
So off we went to the Riviera Maya. Everything was goiing well...until we arrived at the hotel...
The first problem... are we at the Beach/Del Mar or Lindo???.... can't tell....so we asked the driver to drop us off at the Beach...Upon arrival the receptionist said she had no record of our booking...she started making phone calls and then took out a card with another persons name....whited out portions... and then announced she fixed the problem.
We were assigned room 3504 on the Pariaso Beach side. The bell boy took our bags and off we went. Room 3504 is situated between two service entrances (one on each side)...trying to keep an open mind... I went into the room...it was dark and dingy...only one light lit the room...the refrigerator while on...was hot...I don't believe the AC was working (I didn't feel it and really did not check it). The room was on the ground floor without any appreciable view.
So we went back to the reception area... only this time we ended up on the Del Mar side....the receptionist there explained that the room we recieved was based on the cost of the booking...we could upgrade to the Lindo for an additional 100.00 per night....after some thought we took the bait...
The Lindo...put us up in a room that....although it was ten times better than 3504 still showed how badly this resort has diminished. Upon arrival into the room...we found chairs with holes in the backing, cracked countertops, stained end tables, a cracked tub and a balcony door that wouldn't lock (thus no air).
The door was fixed. So I'm good. The other problems are thiers. The next day, the hairdryer broke... we went to the desk and asked them to repair it.....4 days when we left it still wasn't fixed. (This didn't make my wife happy).

Okay...now to end this long story.... I'll sum it up like this....

The overall experience I've rated high mainly beacuse of the general staff... the maids/bartenders/entertainment (STAR) went out of thier way to make the stay enjoyable.

Quality I've placed low because of the condition of the rooms to which we we're assigned.

Value... This started out as a very good value... but when you add the 600.00 (USD) upgrade....eehh...not so good!

Cleanliness.... at the Beach... not good. At the Lindo... better but still wanting

Staff... Excellent...in both areas

Would I return??? Sadly no.... I really enjoy it there...but there are so many other resorts in the area that I think I will have to try some of the others...My thought is that the Iberostar resort has become dated.

"Great Resort, top staff, very clean, a lot of facilities and leisure expecially for a family with teenagers. Food has to improve drasticaly....there is no identity and the gourmet restaurants are very bold( no good) they are serving what you get at the buffet....no Spanish restaurant ?????
Full buffet breakfast with hot dogs, hamburgers, and other food items that you will never eat for breakfast. Improve the fruit section, the pastry.
Hope to see improvements we would like to go back in winter. Let's see ????"

Le site est superbe. Nous y sommes aller du 25 janvier au 2 f�vrier. Nous avons eu 5 jours de chaleur et 2 avec quelques nuages. Nous en avons profiter pour aller magasiner � Playa Delcarmen. La bouf est tr�s bonne. Il y a beaucoup de similitude pour ce qui est des aliments avec ceux du Qu�bec. Il y a du Coke, du vrai! Le service �tait tr�s bien sans oublier les animateurs. Ils se souvenaient de nos noms d�s la premi�re journ�e. Ils ont l'air d'aimer leur travail. Ils sont imaginatifs et ont le tour de nous faire participer aux diff�rentes activit�s. Ils ont de beau spectacle � tous les soirs. J'y suis aller avec ma conjointe et mes deux filles (18 et 16 ans). Elles ont appr�ci�es leur voyage aussi. We had 5 days of heat and 2 with a few clouds. We enjoy to go shopping in Playa Delcarmen. The beef is very good. There are many similarities to what is food with Quebec. There Coke, real! The service was very good as well animators. They remembered our names the first day. They 's air ' s love their work. They are imaginative and around us to participate in various activities. "Je reviens juste de voyage avant hier. Une excellente exp�rience. Nous �tions en voyage de famille 10 personnes avec deux tr�s jeunes enfants, 20 et 3 mois , il a �t� facile d'avoir des couchette s�curitaire pour les enfants. Nous n'avons eu aucun probl�me tout au contraire. La bouffe est excellente, les buffets diversifi�s avec un changement de th�me chaque jour, ce qui fait que nous ne mangeons pas toujours la m�me chose au souper. Chialer pour chialer, les buffets � air ouvertes c'est plaisant parfois mais les oiseaux qui viennent voler les sachets de sucre sur les tables ce n'est pas plaisant et au mois d'ao�t c'est chaud pour manger dehors. Beaucoup de palapas, la plage propre et le service au bar excellent. Les employ�s sont tr�s gentils et polis. Les animateurs de foule sont tr�s gentils et disponible. Je recommanderais sans probl�me cet h�tel � un amI. Les vendeurs sur la plage sont pr�sents mais pas agressant. // I just returned from trip before yesterday. A great experience. We were on our family 10 people with two very young children, 20 and 3 months, it was easy to 'be safe crib for children. We don 't have any problem at hand. The food is very good, buffet diversified with the change of theme each day, so that we do not eat the same thing for dinner. Cry cry for the open air buffets 's pleasant but sometimes the birds that come to steal sugar packets on the table that ' s not pleasant and months August 's hot to eat outside . Many palapas, the beach clean and the bar service excellent. The employees are very nice and polite. Facilitators crowd are very nice and available. I would definately recommend this hotel to a friend. The beach vendors are present but not attacking."
